Just got back from a week at Evripides - is the best place I've stayed in Greece. Me & my mates had an amazing time, everyone there was so friendly - thanks to Uri & Nikos for everything! I'd definitely go back, can't fault it.
My friends and I returned from the Evripides apartments on Wednesday 6th September and already I am missing the place so much! These apartments were excellent value for money. The family (consisting of wife Denise, Father Nikos, their son Uri and their nephew Zac, as well as their dog Jack and cat Suki) were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome.
Although the Evripides apartments are not situated in the centre of Kardamena the taxi ride is only 5-6 minutes costing 7 euros and taxis can be ordered at the bar. The apartments also seem to be of better quality than the ones in the centre of town.
There is a 24 hour bar which serves food, satelite TV, and a small and large pool. When returning from a night out you can often listen to Greek music and take part in a bit of Greek dancing. The rooms in the apartments are quite spacious and consist of a bath, shower, cooker, fridge, dresser, wardrobe and balcony. I would definitely recommend these apartments to couples, friends, and families and would love to go back here if visiting Kos again.
Me and my girlfriend got back on thursday and had a fantastic time. The appartments were great and were a lot more than we expected. They were in a great location just away from the centre for a quiet relaxing day by the pool but only a bus or taxi ride away which was ideal. There was a mini market just down the road and the beach just opposite with all the watersports for plenty of fun. The apartments were nice and modern and cleaned 3 times a week by cleaners which were very trust worthy.
The pool was brilliant and you could always get a sun bed. the pool bar was great and open as long as sumone was there to get a drink which was handy for when you got back from a night out. The owners nickos, denise and uri were very fiendly and made our stay the best and were great hosts and now also our friends.
We made loads of great friends who made our stay even better. We enjoyed it that much were going back in october and hope to see some of you there! (adam and vic). Highy recommened for a great holiday with the best of everything. See you soon

I've just got back from Kos with my girlfriend and I am now at work writing this message. I would just like to say thanks to Nikos,Denise,Uri and Nikos's mother who is truly amazing for her age for a fabulous 2 weeks. We were so sad to leave we are going back in 2 months for another week. The apartment is situated in a great place as it is great to chill out round the pool in the day and is only a 5 minute walk to the local mini market and also to the nearest beach. The newer apartments we stayed in were alot more than we expected for ahat we paid and I've been to Greece afew times and this was by far the best value for money place I have stayed in so far. They have good snacks at the bar in the day and also a 24 hour bar which we found really good after a night out we would come back and have afew more drinks at the bar.Nikos works really hard to keep the place looking smart and is a really great guy and by the way I'm going to do some overtime to save up for the diamond ring! ha ha.Hope all is well and see you soon.
Me and my partner have just arrived back from the Evripides Apartments on Sunday (13/08/06) and what can I say? we had an absolutely fantastic time! The people are so friendly it's the best holiday that I have been on. The apartments are about 10 mins away in a taxi from the lively bars and restaurants, which is really good as you can relax in the day without the thumping music!
I did mean to write more than what was in my previous comments but posted it by accident! Just wanted to say that if you are looking for place to stay where you truly chill out in the daytime and want the partying for the nightime this is the place to stay. It's about 3.5kms out of the main resort but has easy access (1.30 euro by bus or 7 euro by taxi). The rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool area is great with a 24 hour pool bar, sky TV and they serve great bar snacks throughout the day which are good value for money. The pool itself it really nice and a great way to cool down. It's the perfect size and has the sun on it all day long. Nik, Denise & Uri make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The other guests staying there were all really friendly. It's a great place to make new friends. The beach nearby has great watersports facilities and a nice sandy beach. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and I will be going back again. Just also wanted to say thanks to my new friends Adam, Vic, Jude & Emma for such a good laugh and great nights out and hope to see you all soon.
Just arrived back from Kos this morning
Me and my sister visited kardamena from 22nd july- 30 july. We arrived in the early hours of the mornin and was greeted by the bar man Uri. Our appartment was very clean and the shower was as expected. We begrudged spending 7euros for a taxi into kardamena, but there is a bus for just 1.30euros which takes all of 2minutes. The pool is very nice especially when you can't stand the heat. Prices at the 24hour bar are fair, and the food is very nice. The family that run evripides are extremly friendly and helpful. I would recommed evripides apartments to anyone of any age!! We had a brilliant holiday!!!!!
We stayed at Evripides apartments for two weeks. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the bar staff and everyone who worked there. The apartments were well kept and the pool area was of the highest quality! The bar was open 24 hours, which was good after a night out for a swift beer! We met Uri the bar man who took us out for a good night of the Kardamena nightlife! His mom made a crackin cheese and ham toastie! I also got a crack of spear gun fishing which was spot on and experienced eating the octopuss i caught! All in all the apartments were excellent and i had great time! I recommend it to anyone of all ages!
i stayed here from 21st june 2006-5th july, stayed for a very relaxing holiday, just a shame my mosquito blind in my room had been kicked in!! so no use, there was no air con but i did hire a fan for 35 euros! seems very expensive at these appartments!! there is a shop but nowt worth buying you have to go into town to get owt decent, you could buy 6 bottles of water from the bar which was usefull, on the plus side the pool is gorgeous cold but nice there is plenty of sun beds but 1 euro to hire a mattress!! rooms cleaned almost every day!! basic but i was told i could upgrade for 200euros!! all in all great holiday shame about some things, or and the rep nick is completley useless, is tours are over priced much cheaper in town, if you want owt doing do it yourself!! i would go back to kardemena but not to stay here a bit too far out and EXPENSIVE!! you got my money nikos but not again, or by the way i broke your fan ha,ha,ha!!! tony wilson ,leeds, west yorkshire
I just re-read my posting... sorry about the spelling mistakes - I'm still tired after the flights!!
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Evripides Apartments for two weeks in September and had a wonderful time.
On arrival (which was at about 4am) the son of the family, Uri, welcomed us all and said that the bar was open which, after a long journey, was very welcome. Before a drink however we dropped all our luggage off in our room which was clean and tidy and the view from our studio was very nice, we could see the sea, the pool and the mountains from our balcony.
A few people were concerned by the fact that we had to hand our passports in but I have since learnt that this is standard in all European accommodation and is compulsory procedure issued by the police.
The pool was lovely and clean and there was always a free sun bed to relax on. Also, the bar next to the pool was brilliant - well stocked and well run. There is Sky TV as well which you are free to use. One thing I liked was how relaxed the bar atmosphere was and also how relaxed the opening hours were - basically it stays open until there is no-one left to serve.
The Evripides Village is run by a family who are all extremely friendly and helpful. Nikos, the owner even went swimming with us one night and then congratulated us all with an ouzo. Denise, Nikos's wife was just as friendly as was the aforementioned Uri who, although not a very good chess player was a legend in his own right. Nikos's mum also helps out. Generally, the family all help out throughout the days and nights. The grounds are well kept and the plants and shrubs all add to the picturesque feel to the place.
The location of the Evripides Village was just about right for us. It is situated about two and a half miles away from the town of Kardamena (pronounced car-dam-enner) which itself is a lovely resort. We went into town most days and nearly every night and usually caught the bus which runs regularly and only costs 1 euro each way and takes less than 15 minutes. The last bus back at night was at 11.40pm. We did take a taxi into town a few times which cost 6 euros but often there would be someone to share with making it 1.5 euros each. We did walk into and out of town a few times and it is a very pleasant walk right along the sea front. There is a beach at the end of the driveway but it isn't the best - a 10 minute walk however is all it takes to find a more sandy offering.
Overall I would highly recommend these apartments and studios as they have provided me with one of the best all round holidays I have ever had. Hopefully I will return one day if not only for the charm of the place, but to give Uri another thrashing at chess!
Enjoy.
We stayed at Evripides for two weeks earlier this month and absolutely loved it. The apartments were clean and had everything we needed, the pool was lovely and the bar was well stocked!
The Evirpides was too far away from centre of Kardamena for my liking. Had to get taxi (7 euros) & 20 cent for the phone call to call one! or wait for the bus which wasn't regular. Rooms were very basic & the cleaner wasnt regular either only came once during our weeks stay. Sun loungers were free but a 1 euro charge for a mattress. Nice pool though. 35 euros a week for air conditioning although my room didnt have it ! and 12 euro a week for a safe. Nearby mini market (about a 15 min walk) was very basic hardly anything in it luckily you can buy water 6 large bottles for 3 euro at the bar. Nice place over all but just too far out unless you like walking 45 mins to get to centre.
We booked a self catering accommodation but were told this was unavailable and were ' upgraded to bed and breakfast' .Which meant there was no fridge or cooker and also the wardrobe had 3 skirt hangers only ,so we kept most of our clothes in our suitcases. When
I asked Nickos for some coathangers he pretended not to understand
English. So we had to endure the full holiday without our greek
breakfasts with cups of tea and put up with the continental breakfast
of bun, slice of processed cheese, slice of ham, cartons of jam and butter ,Yuk !
We arrived early hours & our first thought was "we are miles out of town" and we were, but the bus route only takes 5 mins & costs 90 cents to town. The apartments were lovely, basic but nice, great clean pool & the brothers who run the place "Nickos & Costas" are brilliant. The bar stays open as long as someone is there to prop it up, the BBQ nights (Fridays) are well worth the €10.00. Nice place for couples & there were no kids which was a bonus... loved it here & recommend this to anyone ! Fab thanks lads for making our holiday one will will remember for a long time :)
