Paradise Beach

Beaches on Kos

Lucie S

This was one of the highlights of our trip, not for the beach itself, but the amazing bubble vents under the water. You really need a snorkel, and then to go out a bit further in to the water to really appreciate the bubbles and the beach as somewhere interesting to visit - otherwise it is just another beach,

Went to Paradise Beach with Theokritos Travel (it was free because we had booked 2 other trips that was on offer) I had read bad reports on here but we got there at 10am and were more or less the first people there. Beach was great, excellent for watersports and cheaper than Tingaki Beach, try the Flying Fish. Staff at Snack bar ripped me off so be careful.

The message is for Jacqui Tilson(july 31 2004), I wanted to mention that I strongly disagree with your comments. The owner of Paradise Beach make a lot of efforts to keep the Beach very clean & very comfortable for the tourist. It is the best beach I visited on the island & the cleanest. The restaurants are the best & the food is great!!!!!

Emma T

You can not afford to miss out on the beautiful beach. The watersports are fantastic!!!!

Jacqui T

definitely not worth a visit. one of messiest beaches on island. much cleaner beaches around

Leanne E

went on a day trip with our reps to paradise beach, thought it was really nice. the lads loved the watersports and the girls loved the sunbathing potential (a lot better than on the beach in kos town)

Georgina W

Just got back from Kefalos and spent half the week on Paradise beach. Great beach with plenty of sunbeds so you're not on top of other holidaymakers. Very clear water and fairly shallow. Bubble beach is the same place really, u see the bubbles rising from the seabed near to the jetty where the boats/watersports are. U can get a speedboat there from the harbour in Kefalos (almost opposite the Blue Horizon restaurant) for 5 euro's. Much quicker and easier than getting the bus which our rep reccommended. The restaurant at the top is fab, great food, very quick, hardly any waiting time and u get a great view. It is fairly quiet, not a typical touristy type beach compared to most Spanish beaches but then Kefalos isn't the "fish & chip brigade" type of place. It's perfect, enjoy!!!

Mike C

waaaay too busy. try magic beach a bit further out of kefalos. good taverna, plenty of space and great swimming that you don't have to wade out for miles to reach!

Gemma A

You can get to Paradise beach on the local buses. From Kos Town and Tingaki it costs around 2.80 euros one way.

We booked our trip through a local Travel Agent and this costed 7 euros return on an air conditioned coach. The only thing is that we got there at 9:30 and left at 4:30

A great beach and the bubbles from the spring are quite nice to see.

Orla

Paradise beach is a long beach and has bubble beach within it (we got confused as to which was which) there's plenty sand, quiet areas with no sun loungers and the water doesn't get deep too quickly (unlike Kardamena where it's over your head too quickly). We used a local travel company (Harriet travel, very good in Kardamena)and got a bus there for €6 but found out after the local bus does go there also for €4 return. The bubbles are caused by volcanic activity in the afternoon and we happened to be on a peddle boat at that time and saw them. It's just weird seeing these little streams of bubbles appearing from no where! You can also see similar bubbles and a hot spring at the Therms, but I think you need a car to get there. There is only one cafe and one restaurant so I would advise to bring food etc with you. It's worth a visit, best beach we came across.

Kirsten W

excellent sand, clear waters, a real wee suntrap. the only thing is that it is extremly commercial and you cant see the view for the parasols

Essex G

The "little old man" in the canteen kept us there for an hour by saying the cab company was busy and said his "son" would give me and my 6 friends a lift in his truck! We walked to the restaurant at the top and the lady got us 2 cabs straight away! The little old man then came along on his motorbike and had a go at us and the lady for wasting his time despite us going back to tell him we no longer needed cabs. I have no doubt we would have been sold as sex slaves on the open market!! Just BE CAREFUL!!

Ps Beach is fab!

Em

it was beautiful.its so hot and definately the best place to get a tan. the restraunt at the top of teh hill is lovely. the little old man was so cute. the beach is gorgeous.

D H

watersports busy and expensive. Cheaper at other places near by and less crowded. Shop around.

Laura B

once you get to this beach you are stuck there, as we found out!!! as the bus only travels back twice a day once at about 4.00pm and then again at about 6.00pm. If you plan to go here make sure you are well equipped with the basic survival package. there is only one small beach bar which is quite expensive. also they charge for the use of sunbeds We recomend that you dont take small children as if they become board there is no where to go with them. My advice if you do go to paradise beach make sure you take food, drink and something to do e.g books buket and spade, because once your there there is no way to escape!!! and dont miss the last bus!

If you are staying in kos town or a resort like Tigaki like us and you want to visit Kefalos at the other end of the island then make sure you reach it! We made the mistake of stopping at Paradise where there was a steep climb down and back up to the beach, it was crowded, endless boats of day trippers, only one restaurant and quite frankly 'tacky'. In the afternoon we moved on to the beach of Kefalos which is where we were originally heading for and we wished we had gone straight there. What a difference. It was idylic, peaceful, the sea crystal clear, the kids loved it and we stayed for a delicious evening meal in our beach clothes it was so nice. Kefalos has a certain charm to it that we warmed to straight away. Infact we have booked to go there on our next holiday. If you want to feel like another trapped sardine Paradise is for you but not us! Everything that was at paradise could be found on Kefalos bay but more accessible and with alot more character.

Shane N

went here a few times during my 3 weeks in kardamena in june and have got say this the best beach in kos as the sun beds are spaced out unlike every were else in kos and to get here u need a moped or a rental car as its not in walking distance from any resort. The water sports are great and recomend the peddale boats which have a build on slide might see ya there in june 2004 bbyyyyee......

Louise W

i loved it a ace beach, gud for kids at 1 end and parents at the other definetly a gud place 2 try 4 a day, we got a speed boat there. not much bubbles but u can walk out really far so its safe fo the kids.

Bernie I

This is the place to go to relax and unwind, I would like to say hello to my brother Yannis (Jonhy boy)and his fantastic family!! They own the restaurant above and do the best 'Baby ribs' in the whole world, never mind Kos!! Hiya to Dieta? Hope thats how it's spelt my German friend. I fell in love on paradise beach with a beautiful girl. I will never forget her!! 'Like the sun through the trees she came to love me, ... Like a leaf on the breeze she blew away'.

I will be back next year, how can a man deny in his life something as beautiful as paradise beach, and yannis and his family?!

Anthoula P

Paradise beach is one of the best beaches on the island.....there are watersports you can do to make your day go by.....I have done basically all the watersports, you must try paragliding and the flying fish... The Kargas brothers(they run one of the watersports) will take good care of you, the are located right under the snack bar...... You should all try to go to paradise beach at least once....

Vicki M

From Kardamena it cost 3 euros each 2 travel 2 bubble beach, n it was worth more than that, if u wanna take a scenic route hiring a quad is popular too, the price is a bit different though around 30 euros/day.If u have time it is definitly worth visiting.

Natalie S

We found this overated beach quite NOT impressive. Very stony. Also very steep to get to from the main road. We wasted our time, money and effort.

Arie

Nice place to go, it's free entrance, and we liked it very much

Anne S

As you are driving towards Kefalos to try and find Paradise Beach, make sure that you go to some of the ones adverised before it, you will not be disappointed. If you like your beaches crammed with sunbeds and people, then head to the Paradise Beach signpost....however, if you like just about 20 or so sunbeds dotted along the waters edge, the clearest water ever, and so peaceful, then head to Sunny Beach or Magic Beach...absolute heaven !!

Ruth O

Beautiful beach...try the restaurant at the top of the hill, food is very good!!

Tracy R

a lovely sandy beach with clear blue water, brilliant for kids, lots of watersports going on all reasonably priced, try the flying fish and the paragliding. sunloungers x 2 and a parasoul cost 7 euros per day, take food with you and drinks though as not many available. a brilliant full day out for all the family

Cb C

SO NICE SO LOVELY SO CLEAN SO WARM LITTLE FISHES AROUND YOUR FEET ...I COULD HAVE STAYED THERE ALL DAY! WE LOVED IT ...KEV AND CHAN X

Susan J

how far is paradise beach from kelalos, and is it easy to get to as i have walking problems.

Gary & avril B

We loved Paradise beach the only thing we found that it did get a bit crowded in the afternoon when the boats all came and dropped off their passengers for a swim. We had a sandwich in the snack bar just above the beach around lunch time and although it was very busy the service was very quick and the sandwich was delicious. Great water sports also available here.

Lisa W

you can get really cheap deals for the various independent excursion operators in Kardamena. Rep prices r a rip off!! I paid 4 Euros to be taken to Paradise beach on a really lovely old boat. Took about an hour and 20 mins but get to see all along the coast. Shop around for deals coz one place offered a free paradise beach trip if you went on another of their day cruises. The beach is beautiful with clear waters and great bubbles. Lots of watersports, fairly priced! Go on the flying fish! You take off!!!

Linda C

We enjoyed our day in Paradise Beach. We got a speedboat from Kefalos for four euros return and spent seven hours at the beach, lazing on the sunlounger or swimming in the beautiful water. Loads of watersport activities on offer, try the Flying Fish!

Linzi B

is the paradise beach very far from kardamena? and could anyone tell me bout trips(inc.prices) from kardamena? me and my friend are going in aug and would appriciate any advice anyone has to offer.thank you.

Ann L

think paradise is one of the best beaches in kos,it takes little time with the local bus but its well worth it.The beach is very good, and you have to try the restaurant there over the all stairs(forgot how many it was)but it has a great wiev, delicious food and outstanding service. They also have a little shop and prices are good and you can find alot of things to buy.I loved the jet ski and the "teacher" was very patient to learn how to handle it.
I wanted to try paragliding but didnt had the guts but maybe next time.
They have alot of activities that you can try and never dream of to do before.
Area is very good. And the bustrip to paradise beach is great, and you pass many nice views, the kos army you will pass, you will also see alot of great stores under the travel. The local bus driver is very polited and make the travel very nice.
So i will deffently be back and i can recommend you to taste beef beer in their restaurant something delicious as that was long time i tasted.
Thanks for all good service and the fun we had when we were there.

Ria G

LOVED IT........WATER SPORTS ARE TREMEND!
U GOT RINGOS, PEDALOS, JET SKIS{NEW ONES}.......AND THE FLYING FISH......THAT WAS MENTAL!

Hi My Name is TONY AINSWORTH and I work for myself as a STOCKTAKER, doing STOCKTAKING for various Licensed Premises in England, and to relax I visit KOS 3 or 4 times a year. I stay in Kos Town, but to be very honest the beaches are OK, but Paradise Beach is excellent and I like to go to that one.

It is sandy, shallow, you can walk out 2 or 3 hundred yards and still touch the bottom. It is sheltered and is an ideal place to take the children for a day as there are facilities like toilets etc. There are plenty of water sports and you do pay for the sunbeds, I can't remember the price but it is reasonable.

The climb down is a fair jaunt, but you can take a car down to the beach. When I go I always keep going to the RIGHT side of the beach as I think that the sand is better.

Check out some photo's at my home page, the address is:-

we find it one of the hottest beaches on Kos - in late may early june - not as windy as the northern ones - perhaps a little too commercialised

K B

yes great clean beach, water is so clear, also suprisingly the resterant is not over priced, we will be there this year, the boat trip is nice.

Gill S

paradise beach was the most beautifull beach i have ever seen especially the lovely greek lads who done the water sports they were a picture

Nikkie A

oh what a beach!! it was lovley couldnt ask for anything else and for 5 euros it was really worth it to go for the day

Rachel S

We got a taxi here, (get them to take you right to the bottom, it is quite a climb to the top) and a bus back. The beach was lovely, very warm loads of bubbles and my boyfriend did loads of snorkeling and so many fish! Very crowded. A few waters sports though its in a small bay so it can be a bit hectic! Though worth visiting!

J H

Can get a bit crowded with Brit and Germans - but who blames them! Great beach, lovely shallow waters for paddling in and if you go out a bit further you can find some bubbles - from the island of Nysiros. Check out the water sports if you tire of sun worshipping.

Sian J

lovely beach really lovely been there at least four times

Sue

Excellent watersports and the sand and the water is fantastic.
