The old village is a marvellous place to walk around, very picturesque with most of the houses, shops painted in the most prettiest of colours. Definetely visit the wee old man from the bakery. You will think you are in a different world sitting outside his shop with one of his cakes and a cup of coffee !!
Brilliant view as you drive towards the small harbour, although the day we visited it was very windy, not sure if it will always be like that. The small beach is really pretty looking, with about a dozen or so sunbeds. But beware the taverna is not opened for food until 11am, so if you are intending to have breakfast there ( like us !!) too bad. Well worth a visit, though, just to see one of the prettiest wee places on Kos.
We just visited Tingaki in the evening and found the most marvellous restaurant called the Mediterranee. You will get served the best food on the whole island here, brilliant friendly service, and just a bit special. Go there, you will not be disappointed.
As you are driving towards Kefalos to try and find Paradise Beach, make sure that you go to some of the ones adverised before it, you will not be disappointed. If you like your beaches crammed with sunbeds and people, then head to the Paradise Beach signpost....however, if you like just about 20 or so sunbeds dotted along the waters edge, the clearest water ever, and so peaceful, then head to Sunny Beach or Magic Beach...absolute heaven !!
Will definetely travel with Direct Greece again - excellent service. John the rep was helpful and not pushy. The transfers to and from the aiport were magic, no delay going to the resort, and preferential service from the airport when we were going back to the airport ( no hanging around for Direct Greece people!!). You will find you fridge in your apartment filled with some goodies, which was really nice touch ( beer, rolls, cheese, butter, orange juice)
This was a fabulous beach, only about 20 sunbeds dotted along the water's edge, plenty of room, and very clean.
You can also drive your car or bike round down to the beach, so no parking problems.
Overall, one of the best beaches on Kos
Brilliant, relaxing, charming, quiet village that we stayed in during September 2003. Running out of adjectives !!! Very lovely clean beach, safe water, all the restaurants cater for children, great food in them all. Our 2 favourite bars were "Number One" and "Barsolino", both sold the most amazing cocktails. You will be recognised and welcomed wherever you go, as it is such a small village. Easy bus transport to Kos Town and boat trip to Kalymnos. Fabulous - can't wait to go back !!!(PS. make sure that you visit Tam Tam taverna & beach, just outside the village on route to Marmari - brill!!)
visited the springs in Sept 2003 and hated it - completely jam packed and tacky - would suggest that you give it a miss!!
