Limnionas Beach

Beaches on Kos

We visited Limionas for the first time last August.  It's beautiful, what more can I say? As you drive from the main road down into the small bay the smell of wild thyme is wonderful and the views are amazing, it is worth stopping on the way because at one point you can see all the way to Mastihari half way along the island . Don't expect to find gift shops and masses of tourists on coaches but there is one restaurant/taverna where you are made very welcome at any time of the day.

Sea smells like poo. 1 overpriced fish restaurant. 1 childs play area.  Thats it.

Nice little coves, clear water, good snorkelling too. Picturesque drive down to the harbour. Had evening meal in the taverna and would recommend for the fish menu.

What a lovely day out - cute little sandy beaches and friendly taverna.

Very enjoyable - sea was lobely and warm, but current was quite strong/

Brilliant view as you drive towards the small harbour, although the day we visited it was very windy, not sure if it will always be like that. The small beach is really pretty looking, with about a dozen or so sunbeds. But beware the taverna is not opened for food until 11am, so if you are intending to have breakfast there ( like us !!) too bad. Well worth a visit, though, just to see one of the prettiest wee places on Kos.

I have never visited Kos before. How easy is it to travel by local bus? Am thinking of staying in the Psaldi Or Mastihari areas?

Very quiet beach, split into 2 areas, also a very nice restaurant there. Give it a try.

Nicola - its very easy to find your way on Kos. there's one main road which runs down the centre of the island and towns and beaches are well signposted. Haven't been to Limionas but intend to when we visit in first 2 weeks of June So I hope it is signposted - anyone confirm??

LIMINONAS NEAR TO KEFELOS.

Liminonas has two fairly secluded beaches, one being in the shape of a horse shoe, and the waves roll in and knock you down. If you like to be away from the crowds you should visit Liminonas

The Restaurant Liminonas serves fresh fish sold by the kilo and is served grilled with lemon. ( Fairly expensive but very good )

This is a lovely part of Kefalos worth a visit especially when the sun is setting. Lovely fish taverna there.

Picturesque bay on opposuite side of the island to Kamari/Kefalos, about 15 minutes drive. Small harbour and quiet beach, but otherwise rocks into the sea, and some crashing waves. Romantic place to sit and watch the sunset. There are two tavernas there, though one appeared to be closed when we went (mid October). Worth visiting
