Just came back. Had a fantastic time. The studio was clean and well spaced but expect Greek toileting facillities(no shower curtains and no loo paper must go in the toilets!) Self catering facillities was not too great. They just give you the minimal. The family who owned the studios was nice nad helpful.Bambis the brother and Zoey and Maria the sisters. Even the great grandmother. The studios is around 15-25 minutes away from the active strech of bars and restaurants and other accommodation but the beach was around 10 minutes away. The pool and the bar is good. Would recommend for guests who would like a peaceful holiday without noisy teeny boppers!
This beach was ok overall ..very stony but the best bit was the Club Med section (free to use by all) which was right beside the St Stephanos ruins and near the St Sephanos islet with the small fisherman's chapel. You can swim to the islet too. This section has clear blue water and lovely sand. You could go for a few yards with small fish swimming around you. Great for snorkelling. There are numerous watersports facillites. Beside the ruins were some rocks which were very relaxing to sit on.We really appreciated that section of the beach.
We found this overated beach quite NOT impressive. Very stony. Also very steep to get to from the main road. We wasted our time, money and effort.
Just got back on the 12th October after one week of glorious sunshine and good weather. Saturday the 11th was very windy though. We think October was an excellent time to go as temperatues were like average 26 degrees. Despite this some of the accomodation, shops and restaurants were getting ready to close as the summer sun tourist season comes to an end at the end of October. However there are quite a few good ones open. Things were also getting cheaper. Don't expect a very active resort at this time though, but do expect peaceful tranquility.
It was a very good experience. Our tour rep took us shopping and viewing of the sunset in the mountains of Zia. It cost 38 euros which was a bit pricey compared to other tour companies. Despite that the entertiamnent was fantastic - live music, passionate singers and very talented dances. One of the male dancers lifted a whole table by his mouth! and balanced three glasses of water on his head whilst going around the room! The dancers encoraged people to dance on stage in a co-ordinated way. The food was very varied..not much to go around each table though, however it was tasty and represented most of greek cuisine. Also in the night, one can see Turkey across the waters. They also took pictures on entering the venue and at the table ..of course you will have to pay for them if you like them. Some people went mad on the unlimited wine, but there was a penalty of 80 euros if you got sick on the coach. Overall we loved it
It had various lovely ruins, especially the St. John. One could see Turkey fom tthe castle. If you want to go, we would reccommend the bus as it is 2.80 euros one way, but make sure you ask the conductor and driver their schedule for the day as they left us stranded at Paradise Beach waiting on them for three hours when they did not bother to come down to the beach as they advertised! The shopping in Kos Town is not that great..nothing special..a few fake brands and the waiters were a bit pushy competing for your custom. overall it is pretty much for site seeing but not woth paying a tour company for taking you there
We really hated it. Usual friendly welcome though. The starter soup seemed like it came straight out of a tin! The presentation of the food was pretty naff. All crammed on two small plates. As a restaurant which was highly recommended by a fellow guest, we were certainly far from impressed. We also regretted going there on our last night. Still had a heartburn two days after returning to London!
Please try Stamatia and Stop Inn which are in close vicinity. They are much cheaper and serve much tastier meals with a much friendler service!
Excellent!!! The Greek Plate and the meatball dish were fantastic! The soups were home cooked and tasty..chicken soupbest I have tasted in a while. Prices were good and the staff were very freindly. It is also right on the beach and the view is lovely. We went there on our first night and regretted that we did not go back on thelast night as we were keen to sample other restaurants just for the cuisine experience. Stop In is also excellent too.
I would thoroughly reccomend this taverna! Very tasty food, extensive menu and cheap prices. The main lady, did not catch her name but she was very professional, made you feel like a special customer and was very pleasant. Had the pork keebabs and that went down a treat. It was very busy though. She gave us free liquers at the end of the meal. If anyone goes there, I am sure they will not be dissappointed. Another good one is Stamatia!
