Hi I will be travelling solo to Kos during September and was wondering how easy it is to visit Marcos from Kos Town where I will be staying.

Look forward to hearing from someone.

Great beach a little way out of Kefalos, and mainly used by non brits.

7 years ago we decided to try a different Greek Island every year, first year we went to Rhodes, 2nd year we stayed at Kefalos, Kos, on about the second day we found the boat that took you to Marcos beach (the home of the Beach Boys) and went every day, needless to say we have not been to another Greek Island. This year will be our 6th visit and we will go to Marcos every day (weather permitting)  Yanis & Panos are 2 of the most friendly people we have ever met, and treat you as a guest and good friend, they remember your names, details of your family and should you go a week later than  usual you have to explain why as they were expecting you on a certain date. Yanis is full of mischief and Panos more serious but better for knowing.  Going to Marcos is  very relaxing.

We loved marcos beach it was gorgeous with beautifull calm and clear water to swim in,it wasn't overcrowded at all unlike paradise beach which seems like the place to go for most people. There is a taverna at the top of the hill for when your feeling peckish too,we are coming back in august 04 when its lovely and hot, can't wait.

Great for a relaxing day and only a short water taxi ride round the bay (1000Dr return)- the day we visited there was only about a dozen or so people on the whole beach - and those that travelled over in the water taxi were presented with a free coffee from the guy who runs the boat. On the way to Marcos he pulls the boat into Bubble Beach so that you can see, and smell, the bubbles of sulphurous gasses rising from the volcanic fault line under the water.
