Can anyone help me ?!! We had a brilliant family holiday in 2006 at Pantheon and was hoping to go back next year. However I can't find the apartments advertised anywhere except Thomas Cook and they only offer studios for 2-3 people. I remember that there were two 2 bedroom apartments. Does anyone know who deals with the lets on these please?

Becky C

Sorry this isn't a review but i would like to know the exchange rate at the Pantheon Apartments. If someone can tell me i would appriciate it.

Margaret B          10/10

I wholeheartedly agree with Alan Murray's comments. A holiday at the Pantheon apartments is just superb. Janet and her family are the most wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Everything is done with willingness and great big smiles. The food is lovely (The kleftico was my favourite !!) and the service provided by the Jolly Green Jalopy is terrific, especially for someone as lazy as me. That hill back from the village is a killer !!!!
Anyway, if any of the gang who were there at the same time as us are reading this, I'd just like to say "Hi and hope to see you all at the Pantheon again"

Once again, many thanks to Janet, Panos, Babis, Marie and little Harry for making us so welcome. We feel just like part of your family.

Much love,

Just back from a rotten fortnight at the Pantheon ( I am obviously lying as I want to keep knowledge of the place to myself although I fancy I am not alone in my love of the place ). This was our second consecutive year at these apartments and we even managed to get number 8 so had the same fabulous views day and night. The complex was as clean as a whistle having had its annual decoration. The food and drink on site were excellent , plentiful and very reasonably priced. As for the local people they are still very welcoming and as for Janet and Co. nothing is too much trouble. Even my friend the green bus was still stepping up to the plate. The only down side , not , was having to socialise with the likes of the Cardiff contingent and Mark/Mags! It was good to meet everybody and we will definitely be returning although it may not be until 2009. Could I get a job as Scottish promoter for the Pantheon?

If I remember rightly there is plenty room to park on the road ( dead-end ) up above the pool area but be careful not to steal the shady corner reserved for the green bus!

Hullo all...
Well what can we say... Sue and I have been home less than 24 hours and we are looking at booking a holiday already! Guess where we want to go ? Yup you got it the Pantheon.
We have just had the most chilled week ever, a great honeymoon made even better by the team at the appartments.
Ok the rooms are basic and if you like a soft mattress .... or soft pillows... you might be a bit dissapointed. However... when you open the curtains in the morning and look out onto the bay with the little island set in the shimmering sea ....who worries about a bad back ..lol
Next... food, have to say I was dissapointed in the food in Kefalos, it all seemed a bit samey and the few Greek dishes we could find were a bit dull...BUT and this is a big BUT the food cooked by Babis and Panis was excellent! unpretentious, well cooked food and at a great price served by Janet who always had a smile and the little waitress who couldn't stop clearing away the emptys
If you decide to do only one excursion whilst at the Pantheon make it Nissyros. This Island is a tiny volcanic spot in the ocean with only 1000 people on it and the most beautiful villages I have ever seen. A 1 hour trip by boat and a scary coach trip ( dont look at the tyres) up the hairpin bends to the caldera of the volcano just to have a look at some smelly holes ! sounds a bit dull but it was AMAZING well worth every Euro.
Kos town... get the 10 o'clock bus and have a wander round and a Greek coffee by the harbour... bliss
OK I'll shut up now and let you all make your own mind up about the Pantheon and Kos

Best wishes

Stayed at the Pantheon at the end of last summer and enjoyed the stay.  The owners were very friendly and offered good services.  The apartments were basic but clean and the hotels bar and restaurant were cheap.  The only downside was the walk from the apartments to the bay, however there is a daily bus service which takes you right down.

Like many of the previous visitors we arrived in the middle of the night for a 7 night stay. In the morning we awoke to that stunning view. It was our first visit to Kos and weren't the locals very welcoming? Also at the Pantheon we had one of the stars of the show , the green bus. Surely it has a nickname! As for Janet & Co. , what can I say? Nothing was too much trouble for them and the accommadation/food/drink was excellent so much so that when we got back home we immediately booked up for 2 weeks next August/September. If her ladyship Janet can read this we would like to have Room 8 again!

For Rickkky: - I worked as a Rep for Thomas Cook in Kefaols and was lucky enough to have the Pantheon as one of my hotel's.. most of your questions were answered with regards to what is in the rooms..with regards to the numbers there are two blocks one which connected to the bar/reception area which is approx 20 rooms and the other is situated very closely, if my memory serves me correctly I'd say it has approx 40 rooms.... The hotel is situated on one of the highest points in Kefalos the view is breathtaking, you will be very well looked after by the brothers who own the hotel Yannis and Panos - Panos is married to a lovely English Lady Janet and the hotel is soley run by the family. because its a walk into the resort they runa  free bus service every couple of hours taking you into the heart of the town. I would suggest that anyone visiting hires a moped/car Trust rental cars is the best and take a trip into old Kefalos where all the locals live you'll be very welcome and the Taverna's there are out of this world! it wont be over busy in June July/August were are full packed Months.. Anything else you need to know just email me donna_yescar@fsmail.net

Angie o

Rickkkky! The appartments are basic, but you get a fridge, kettle, toaster, double ring electric cooker, cuttlery & crockery. They 'all' have a balcony and the most amazing sea view you can ever imagine. I challange you not to enjoy the Pantheon lol.

Angie o

Just got back from the Pantheon yet again! once you have been you just have to return.  Had a fantastic week, with great weather.  Met some lovely people and enjoyed great company in the bar with Janet or Babis as our host.  What more can be said other than "roll on the next hol to Kefalos and the Pantheon"  Shame someone can't capture that view to have at home, I did suggest a roller blind with it painted on, 'anyone good at art' ?!

Alex B

Me and my family went on holiday to Kefalos at the end of may in 2005. we flew with Air Malta and the flight seemed to go on for ever. when we arrived at the Pantheon Apartments, it was dark and we were all tired as it was about 4am in the morning. when we woke up the next morning, i was speechless when i opened the curtains and walked out onto the Balcony and saw the view. it was absolutley amazing. the apartments were spotlessly clean and comftable. the apartments are situated amout 2 miles out of the resort centre which makes this the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet and romantic holiday.

I am returning to Kefalos with my familay again on the 27th of May 2006 for two weeks and we are staying in the Pantheon Apartments once again so I Just Can't Wait to get their.
I am also hoping to meet the girl of my dreams on this holiday!!!!!

Allison C

Hi Debbie

I stayed at the Pantheon last year and I'm going back in May. You can change travellers cheques at the reception at the Pantheon for a very small fee (I think it's something like 1% if I remember correctly). I did pay extra to keep the room on but you can only keep it till 8:00pm and I think they charge 20 euros for that. It was worth it though. I'm sure you will have a brilliant time at the Pantheon. It is a little bit of heaven on earth and the people that run it are lovely, especially Janet who is an English lady married to one of the Greek guys that own the Pantheon.

Best wishes

We stayed at Pantheon Aug 2005.  First time in Greece.  FANTASTIC HOLIDAY.  Everyone at apartments was so friendly and helpful.  Ideal holiday for rest and relaxation.  We did all the trips last year, and are returning this May to spend a perfect week in the sun relaxing.  The food at Pantheon is to die for, all prepared and cooked by the owners.  Can't wait to taste it again.  There is no need to go to other eating places as this food can't be beaten.

Allison C

Claire

I don't think you can book direct with the Pantheon. I think it is only through Sunset (Thomas Cook) or Kosmar.

Allison

Claire S

Has anyone booked direct with the owners of Pantheon & do you have their email address /tel/ no?

Tony K

These appartments are great! Ideal for a quiet holiday but be prepared for a long walk into town. We advise a hire car and see the whole island at your leisure. the views are stunning and there is a nice breeze to keep you cool during the hot days. The owners are very welcoming, especially Janet who you will find behind the bar most of the day and night! There are plenty of restaurants to choose from but reccommend Santa Barbara! While we were at the appartments in beginning of Sept 2005, there were two gorgeous dogs that had taken residence there. Can anyone tell us if they are still there? My fiancee wanted to adopt them! Overall, a great holiday and we would return.

Just got back from the Pentheon Apartments in Kefalos last week and im missing it already!  The apartments are spotlessly clean and comfortable, the hotel staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome! The apartments sit at the top of quite a steep hill above Kefalos, it's probably about a 15-20 min walk into the town although i advise anyone going to use the FREE mini bus provided by the Pantheon to get into town espically during the day as the walk in the heat can be pretty exhasting, at night it aint too bad, just watch out for the crazy Greek drivers!

I went with my boyfriend and unfortunatley we were only there for 1 week but we did a few excursions, including the Sunkissed Cruise which i strongly recommend espically to all water lovers, the cruise takes you to 3 diffrent Greek islands and you ge the chance to dive off the boat into the crystal clear waters, its alos a perfect day for topping up your tan!  We also went to Paradise Beach, which i thought was OK, the beach and the water is really nice although it doesnt feel very paradise like with all the sun beds / parasols and all the water sports, which are quite pricey!  We went on the Grren night too which i recommed to everyone, it was really great - plus free wine all night!  Our last excusion was Kos town shopping which was good but quite rushed!

If you are heading to the Pentheon Apartments i am sure you wont be disappointed and just wait until you see the views from your balcony - they are second to none!

Hi,
We were the Hayter family staying in the Pantheon apartments in the first weeks of June. I and my family really enjoyed it our holiday, we enjoyed it sooooo much we will be coming back soon. Bar staff are fantastic, Janet there was very friendly and chatty, and most of the staff looked very happy working there.
Can't ask for a better resort for staying in. It was our first time in Greece. If you want to head into town you need a car as it is about 10 - 15 minute walk, you can also visit the ruins, very interesting, plenty to shop around for. Also there is a water park (but situated in the sea!) with all sorts to do there, which is slightly out of town. (about 3 euros all day) Decent price. Plenty to shop around for. The Greeks love their chess, I bought a fantastic chess set for about 20 euros, with all the Greek roman legends as chess pieces, - fantastic.
We met some decent friends ouit there, one family showed us where some decent places were - go to Mastahari, fantastic views shops brilliant, plenty of restarants - but we thought that the best restarants were in Kefalos - definately the cheapest - ohh, and big up the Rainbow restarant - Mike and Lisa, fantastic people very friendly, taught us a few greek words - Yamaz - cheers fgaristow - thankyou. Meals in the restarant - very big tasty meals.
Thinking about going here - go - you will be more than satisfied.

Stayed at the Pantheon in June this year (2005). What a fantastic place. The view from our apartment balcony was amazing, and even though we were right above the bar it was really quiet. The only downfall is the long walk to and from the resort centre (about a mile each way). Going into Kefalos is OK as it is downhill, but the return journey can be quite tiring and scary (make sure you take some comfy shoes). But don't let this ruin your thoughts about staying, the problem is eased somewhat by the Magical Green mini bus. The owners drive the old (and very hot) mini bus into Kefalos at certain times during the day and have a drop off/pick up point. It's very reliable and a great holiday experience. We tried lots of tavernas and bars whilst out there and really recommend Sebastians, Scorpios and the Ausisie steak house. Sydneys bar and B52 on the harbour front are great places for a bit more fun and tasty cocktails. If you get the chance, take the trip over to Nisyros to see the volcano. It's well worth a visit and only takes an hour on the boat.

Hopefully we will be returning to KOS in the near future and wouldn't book anywhere else to stay.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Pantheon in Kefalos (July'05).  It has been one of our best holidays as a family yet.  The kids loved the pool and the hospitality received is second to none.  Janet, Panos, Babis and Maria are fantastic and can't do enough for you.  We are definately returning next year.

Allison C

What can I say! I have just returned from the Pantheon a few hours ago and it has to have been the most relaxing holidays I have ever had.

The Pantheon sits high on the hill overlooking the bay of Kefalos and has to be one of the most stunning views I have ever seen. I was staying in an apartment right on the end on the top floor and think I had the best view in the place. Every morning I would sit on the balcony from about 7:30am and watch the place gradually come alive. I never got tired of the view. It was a treat to watch the little old Greek man herd his goats up and down the hill.
The apartment itself was big enough and spotlessly clean. The only down side is, it is quite a long way from the main resort but sometimes this can be a blessing and there is always the old green bus to take you into the centre, an experience not to be missed.
The people that run the Pantheon, Babis, Maria, Panos and especially Janet are wonderful warm people, that cannot do enough for you.
I was almost in tears when I left but I'm already planning my return for next year!

Richard B

We stayed at the pantheon apartments for two weeks in september 2001, this included the 11th of that year. Up to that point we had a superb holiday. Next year we are going to return to Kos and wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else. I bet that harry is still a cheeky little so and so.

Just returned from a week in Pantheon. Have holidayed for many years in greek islands and have yet to find a more stunning view from an apartment. The accommodation is basic (even by greek standards) but was clean and very, very comfortable - slept superbly well. Food more than reasonable, good bar area within the complex, and the BUS!!! Old mercedes vehicle with a charm all of its own - needs to be ridden in to be appreciated!! Would consider nowhere else to stay if we returned to Kos, had a wonderful week.

Mo C

Just how far from the beach are the Pantheon apartments? Although we've been to Kefalos about 6 times we've never stayed here, are they fairly new?

Alix C

We stayed at the Pantheon for two weeks last month and had a great time! We managed without a hire car, but I think we'd get one if we went back.

Liz B

I have just booked a holiday to Kefalos and am staying at the Pantheon Apartments. Any help on what the apartments are like and what Kefalos itself is like would be appreciated. Also what restuarants and bars are good to visit.

Thanks

Angela G

To Wendy Bowden.

Yes Janet is still there, as helpfull as ever.

Wendy B

my then 8yr old son i had one of the best hols ever at the pantheon apts. janet and babis, what wonderful friendly people. we were there in may 2003 (same time as bill and den the beerpot men!!!!
wonderfully clean, pool was marvelous and resteraunt prices and food fab.
we look forward to our return to pantheon in aug this year.
does anyone know if janet is still there?

Nigel S

Had a very nice stay @ Pantheon Apts.
Shame not nearer to beach, free bus from apartments to the town very dangerous often overcrowded and bald tyres on the vehicles.

Apartments very basic but o.k

Wonderful view from room.

Michael R

Marvellous position and views (unless you get a ground floor apartment). Very clean and well furnished - well above the average in our experience. Excellent pool. Car an advantage, but courtesy bus runs several times a day. Safety deposit boxes available (at reception, not in rooms). 15 minutes drive to airport, best beaches nearer still. A bit of noise from the bar occasionally, but nothing serious. You wouldn't do better than this in Kefalos, I'm sure.

Rene T

Sonia Pollock, u wanted info on pan'.ap's. last month. If uv not got any - yet! -... Pantheon appartments ab-fab. fingers crossed, gonna be goin back this year. Its the epitome of relaxed, and the family who run it are so lovely...ask their son to play his bazuki for you. You'll find them on the RIGHT hand side of the road as you travel down from the airport litterally 2-3 min before you hit the seafront (Big-tall white building, just as the hill gets steeper!). Youl know as well is i though that its much more fun -if you have the post-flight energy - to wait until you get down to the beach front and then walk back up (in which case the p.a is on the left!). one more tip, check out the first restauraunt at bottom of the hill (on the left, opposite first mini-market). its run by a really nice guy called Yanis, whose mother makes an unbeatable neopolitan spaghetti. Yanis' english girlfriend spends most of the year there so you'l probably get to meet her too... Have fun!

Sonia P

I have been to kefalos many times over the years. However this will be my first time staying at the Pantheon Apartments, can anyone advise me as to where there are exactly? I know that they are on the hill when coming down into Kefalos from the Airport end, but not sure if they are on the right or left hand side of the road. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Jim D

The Pantheon Apartments just has to be a little bit of Heaven on earth! Without doubt the most stunning views from the rooms. Babis and his family run a friendly establishment and always make you feel at home.
We have stayed here four times now and I can't wait to go back again.
Our favourite spot on the Greek Islands and we have been going there for around 20 years.
Oh yes, the Babis Bus is an experience that lives with you for ever!

Sarah F

Excellent. Fabulous views out to sea from Pantheon. Great value
for money family-run business. We have booked again for this
year. Up a hill from town but it's a nice walk and the green
minibus is good fun.

Jacki H

Yeah they are a long walk from the resort but they do run a little green bus from the apartments to the resort, the views are fabulous. Not stayed here but have read other reports.

G R

Any info on the pantheon apps in kefalos
