Really enjoyed our fortnight at the Antonis
It was kept spotlessly clean with regular changes of bedding and towels.
Peter was such a nice bloke and seemed to do everything for meeting and greeting to barman, maintenance man, pool cleaner etc. nothing was too much trouble for him or his mother and 1 helper. We asked for a particular drink at the bar one night (red vodka) he did not have any but had some the following evening. His idea of a measure hardly leaves room for the mixer.
Each room had a well stocked fridge at very reasonable prices. Beer 2euros, Large water 2 euros, Carton of fruit juice 2 euros, Fanta, coke, sprite etc 1.5 euros that you paid at the end of the holiday.
The hotel is right in the heart of the resort. Supermarket and cash point nearby.
We hoped to get out and about more than we did this was due to the heat wave
As for food the choice of places was huge. It was difficult to choose as we never had anything but a good meal we used Sebastian's, Galleni, Marias, Stop in, Stamatia, Captain John all excellent and all with huge potions and very reasonable a starter (don't get one each or you will never get to the main course) 2 main, bread, water a beer and drinks for round about 10 – 13 euros each. Can't speak of the sweet courses because we could never have eaten one. The only place no one seemed to recommend was the Chinese / Indian close to the Antonis.
One word of warning was that Libra had booked people into the rooms that had not been completed for the summer and they were being transferred to other rooms in the resort.
we stayed at the Atonis Hotel In July 06 our first visit to Kos we were looking for a quiet relaxing holiday & this was the place to be, the hotel is very clean & Pete the owner very friendly , good pool with bar also fridges in each room stocked with water beer & wine & regularly refilled you just pay for what you use at the end of holiday, hotel is close to beach, restaurants & bars, we recommend Sebastians & Argo for excellent authentic greek food (good fresh fish & mezes) recommend visit to the old village of kefalos & trip to Turkey well worth the early start, will certainly return ,thank you Pete for a lovely holiday
I went 15th-22nd September 2004 and had a great time. Very clean, lots of sunbeds and sunshine. As in most Greek places no shower curtain and the floor does get wet so best to take a spare towel. The breakfast is fairly good, and the snacks were plentiful and good value for money. I liked the location, a short walk to the sea, but not too near the noise of the traffic. Highly recommended. If I go back I would be happy to stay there again.
just been there from 1/9/2004 till 15/9/2004, excellent hotel, pool great but getting a little cooler if u want a dip about 4, food excellent value and if u order chips extra be warned its a dinner plate full, the inside bar was shut but at the end of the hol`s opened 21;00 till 23;00, supermarket, next door, saftey deposit boxes r free, at the car rent shop next door too, ideal location, bars r great, spent alot of time in escape bar which is about half way down the road to the harbour, run by panos and constantine (think thats how u spell it) he gave me a nick name of gas station so if u go mention me, resturants again great value for money, and opp the hotel is a takeaway or eat in food bar, very good food open 6am till 4am, i`m going back next year for def, been all over the world and so far this is the best, did some fishing, caught a few, went to nisyros volcano this is a must, but book through an agent or at the boat which leaves from the harbour, sun 11am, tues 9am fri 9am but dont book through rep you`ll get it cheaper, resort windy make sure u use sun lotion, but warm on an eve its getting chillier about 20 deg, i took a light jacket, the boat in the bay has broken down, its a bit rusty but been there 4 2 months. and make sure u wear things on ur feet when u go into the sea, there are loads of weaver fish, be warned, if u wanna contact me i`ll be glad to assist, my e-mail is homealone234@hotmail.com... happy hols
Hey, we are going on the 29th September. Will the weather be good then?
Lovely little hotel, very clean, basic & each room has a decent sized balcony. The pool was fab, this hotel was one of the very few in Kefalos with a pool. Lovely guy behind the pool bar, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast consisted of a "boiley egg", toast with jam, coffee/tea and juice. It was basic but u can get a full English there for about 4 euros. The salads are huge, be warned!!Great location for the really long beach, beds are spaced out not sardined together. 5 mins walk to the restaurants & bars on the harbour. If I went back to Kefalos I'd definitely go back to this hotel.
we stayed at the antonis at the end of june for 2 weeks the hotel was realy nice peter and his mum and not forgetting billy behind the bar were brilliant people all reaaly friendly would go out of their way to do anything for you.the hotel is in a good location. It was clean the food at the pool side bar was lovely.would recomend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in kefalos.
Average room stayed with friends both in late 40's resort a bit jaded needed a bit of glamour, moved to rhodes after day 2 that was the best bit got internal flight 88 euros return. Rhodes has it all character greekness (which kos is lacking in) friendly people lots to see and do.
We stayed at Antonis the last week of May 2004, and it was a good place to stay. It appeared to be the most central hotel in the village, between the harbour, the beach and the old village. The breakfast was ok, a bit monotonous, but it was good to have a cup of tea as soon as you get up, even if it was a bit weak!!!
The pool is lovely, very clean, but freezing when we were there.
The rooms are basic, as you'd expect in Greece, but quite adequate.
All the tavernas were ok, none stood out above any other, but we didn't have a bad meal in the whole week.
If you're going to Kefalos, as long as you like it on the quieter side, then you'll LOVE it!!!
Hello can anyone tell me anything about the Antonis hotel and how good / bad the weather is likely to be in May
Thanks
