Hi we're off to Chysoula Apts in July and i've got two children, one who is 4 and the other is 13. Is there plenty for them to do?
My wife and i stayed here in June this year in block A. It was bloody awful, we had a room on the top floor and as you went downstairs, you could watch the cockroaches going up. We reckon its an eighties building and the cupboards etc reflect that. A word of warning, the toilet sink and shower are set in a long narrow room. When you open the door it bangs on the sink, so you have to enter the gap and then close the door. The toilet faces the narrow part and is just about ten inches away from the facing wall. You have to get on it as if you are riding a horse. Now we are both 55 and don't like riding horses, so if your not that agile or are infirm in any way avoid this block like the plague. Swimming pool is ok but the snack bar is expensive, a beer costing 3 euro's. More moaning, it is an awful long way to the best part of Kefalos, at least a 30 min walk as the bars and taverna's near the Chrysoula are indifferent at best. We tried a few places from the suggestions here, but by the gods they were not good at all. Best beer, go to Maria's Bar on the harbour road, a really good beer there called VAP. Its brewed in Athens and is very very moorish and is only 1.50 euro. Best places for eating, Maria's, really good and the Stop Inn. There i had the best liver and onions i've ever had. Do try and look hard for accomodation down the harbour end if you can, we honestly would not want you to be disappointed by staying here.
hi julie are you going from bristol? when you see us say hello my wife has red and black hair fairly easy to spot lol
we are staying here on the 18th june for two weeks. this will be our third year staying at chrysoula, anyone else staying here the same time.
Just returned from our first visit to Chrysoula's Apartments and cannot praise them enough. They are clean and the best equipped self catering accommodation I have ever stayed in. In addition to the usual two ring hob and fridge, there is a mircrowave, toaster, iron, kettle, fans and safe deposit box (38 euros for two weeks). They also have air conditioning but we did not need it in May.
Chrysoula's family are very friendly and I can understand why many people return year after year. I shall be eternally grateful to Chrysoula for driving me to the pharmacy and offering to lend me money for prescription drugs when my partner was taken ill on the last day of our holiday.
Colin - The beach is just a short walk from the apartments. Across the main road behind Jim's supermarket. Another supermarket (Oasis) is just five mins walk towards the harbour and stocks just about everything you need.
It takes about 45 mins to walk to the harbour and there are lots of shops and restaurants along the way. - Have a good holiday.
Staying at the Chrysoula Apartments in early September (first visit to Kos).
I'm 16 i went to kos last year with my mum and dad and our mates i wish i could go back. the whole family who run it are very very very nice. 10/10 all day long
Please can anyone let us know what the access is like around the apartments to the nearest restaurants and the beach. We are hoping to take our disabled father away next year. He has a wheelchair and can walk short distances and go up and down a few steps. He is aware that he won't be able to go too far but we wondered if we will able to get by.
We have just come back from a fantastic holiday in kos, we stayed at Chrysoula apartments and will definately go back there. The apartments are extremely clean and well maintained. All staff were very friendly (Nicos always made me laugh) and the fresh orange juice is to die for as are yaya's (grandma's) chips! The pool area was massive and really clean it was great fun.
We had a fantastic time and found everyone at the Chrysoula to be very friendly. The whole of Kefalos was great, there was no pressure from anyone to go into the bars or restaurants and the food both at the Chrysoula and surrounding hotels, restaurants etc was excellent.
excellent
excellent place. cant wait to return.
You wont have any problems at the chrysoula apartments unless your looking for a really wild night out. we visited in May and loved it. the swimming pool is great and the beach beautiful. The have safety deposit boxes but cost quite a bit as far as i know. but you will have no trouble with keeping things safe. rooms are secure and cleaners a lovely. Air conditionin is installed, think you must ask chrysoula or vasilus and costs!! you have a fan in the room anyway. will def be returning
10/10 Apartment was clean, tidy, was cleaned every day, staff are very friendly always made to feel welcome. Boys loved the pool, Gotta try Chrysoula's fresh OJ at 3€ and Grandmas home made chips. If you need car rental go to the one just by the apartments they are great. Asklipo Tours (soz bout spellings) was good for trips to the Zia sunset and the volcano as I sure would not drive down them roads!!!!!!!
