Popi Apartments

Popi Apartments:

The Greek family-run studio and single bedroom blocks which are situated on a side road near the port in a quiet part of Kefalos surrounded by gardens and trees and has a tranquil atmosphere.

Villa Popi has about 14 apartments which are a mixture of twin or double bedded studios and some with single bedrooms in two blocks and each block has two floors which at first seems basic, but are more than worthy of the 2 Key rating it is afforded; they consist of a kitchenette with two cooking rings and fridge, bathroom with shower and wc, and private balcony or terrace.

The first floor studios afford views across the bay of Kefalos of which we can substantiate the claim; ground floor studios look out onto the jungle like garden or pool of which you can watch the sun rise and set, we enjoyed pleasant afternoons seated with a cool drink soaking up the sun.

The apartments were kept very clean even when we left clothing all over the place, the crockery and cutlery was in place, basic but clean, our party had two apartments one studio on the first flour and one single bedroom apartment on the ground level, the apartments were cleaned three or four times a week, towels and bed linens changed twice a week.

The beds in our apartment was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in.

There seemed to be amble supply of the solar heated hot water for showers and washing.

The air conditioning cost 35 euros per week and the room safe deposit box cost 5 euros per week.

The owners live in a small building located in between the two apartment blocks. It was a convenient five-minute walk from the resort centre to the sand & shingle beach a large supermarket and eating places.  

The resort has two lovely swimming pools, sun beds and parasols and a pool bar which serves inexpensive food, ice creams and drinks all day, use of the pool is free.

They showed their pride in their vocation by making the complex so clean and tidy and going out of their way in being helpful.

Kefalas is truly a peaceful hillside town and a great place to relaxation, with its beautiful little harbour and a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants.

We dined at proper Greek restaurant/s as well as your normal ones with Fresh Fish and Greek food, Italian and English and we also tried the same places that Greek families used, all the restaurants we visited were friendly, kind, good, inexpensive and fun.

After reading some of the bad reviews for Villa Popi we were apprehensive about our holiday thankfully we can say they were unfounded (professional complainers).

Our Stay was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays ever, we picked this holiday from First Choice to chill out and chill out we did. Thank you Popi and family for making our holiday so enjoyable not forgetting the First Choice Rep.

We stayed at Popi's between 8th August and 23rd August 2007, we booked with first choice. On first impression we felt the appartments were basic, but soon realised we had everything we needed close to hand.

Popi and family are very friendly.Everything is so clean.Bar snacks ,drinks are all reasonably priced. Plenty of sunbeds and space around the pool.Will definatley stay there again.

for the guy wanting to book up for next year, i was talking to one of popi's daughters and she told me that first choice are going to be doing holidays there next year. They where in the process of drawing up contracts when i was there 2 weeks ago.

 what a great place with fantastic people.

the accom is fine and clean but take an iron and you might want to take ice bags with you as gin and tonics on the verander are not the same warm.

its very good location and has a bar and pool and the owners are very kind and friendly and its 400 euros a week and you must try the popis apartments i recommend them

me and my daughter been going here to popis for 9 years and staying 6 weeks

loves it there. and the apartments are near to the beach and has a reastant near.

We really enjoyed our stay at Popi apartments. The studios are basic but quite spacious and clean. We never cooked there but they do supply a kettle which was handy for that morning cuppa. Poppi, Sebastian and their daughters will make you very welcome. Very quiet at night as the pool bar closes quite early except on departure nights when they stay open till the last person has gone. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds with nice comfy mattresses.Would definitely recommend.

Im offf to Popi's again for another year I loved it that much,is anyone else off toPopi's this year?If so letme know I will twell you about it, it was lovely

Sorry forgot to add reply after our return. Popi's was fantastic. Very simple and clean with lovely bar snacks and friendly family (Popi, Sebastian and their two daughters.) Have booked to go back there at the end of June and cant wait.

Will always have problems with Kos night flights but there seems no other option really as Kos only seems to open its airport at night. But once used to this not a problem really.

Always get yourself a fan from Popi once you get there as no air conditioning but well worth the few Euros.

No probs with family at all and very helpful reps from Kosmar too who are the ones that run the hols to Popi's

while there we had problems with popi she acused me of shutting down the electric on popis with my laptop infact it was a power cut, she complained about how much she was getting of kosmar,she called the police on our neighbours cos she said they ripped the materess and wanted £50 but they were respectable teachers not rouges the people add to be escorted off the site, apart from those items popis is ok but i must admit i be looking else where on my return trip if ever

POpis are situated just down the harbour road and right a bit. They have their own pool and bar (shared with Evengelia and Stratis) Popi is a lovely lady who enjoys a laugh...great place to stay.

Hi, I'm booked to stay at the Popi Apts in mid July, although I've stayed in Kefalos before not sure really what the Popi are like. Any info greatly appreciated thanks.
