Oscar Hotel

Hey..........8 of us stayed in the oscar hotel 2004 and it was wicked! all the people were friendly and the pool was really good! make sure u get down their early to get ur towell on a sun lounger cus it gets pretty busy!!  its about 5 mins walk from bar street and its amazing!! definatley going there again!! easy now any more info dhatton2001@hotmail.com xx

My friend Joanna and I stayed at the Oscar Hotel for the first 2 weeks in October 2004.  The hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, the pool area was lovely.  The only complaint I would have is that the rooms were very cramped, but considering the small amount of time you actually spend in the rooms that wasn't that big a problem.  The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful harbour.

Also our bus to the airport wasn't picking us up til 1:25am and we got another room til that time for only 15 Euros where as other places were only letting you keep them til 6pm that day, plus you can keep on your safety deposit box too.

We just came back from Kos Town and stayed in Oscar Hotel and loved it. Okay, the rooms were bog-standard BUT they were clean, comfortable and the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. The maid did come every day and left us alone when we were sleeping, the bar was as cheap as anywhere else on the island and the breakfasts were limited in choice BUT very fresh.
Sometimes not sure what people expect on holiday as they always find something to moan about BUT in our opinion, the Oscar Hotel was lovely and would definately go back and stay there anytime.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks in August. When we arrived there our first impressions were that it wasnt clean, the room was cluttered with too much furniture (for instance you couldnt even open the fridge door or walk around the beds properly)and only 2 of our lights worked. We asked for a pool view which we didnt get surprise surprise, our balcony overlooked other apartments and had them flipping mo-peds going up and down the street all night!! We also requested Air conditioning but it seems that the only rooms with Air-con are the ones facing the pool. The manager gives these rooms to other foreigners not the english!! After a while we got used to it the maid came everyday whether we wanted her to or not she came in whilst we were asleep. Not that they did much anyway our bed sheets never appeared to get changed and there were ants in the sides of the bed where dust and bits of food had collected which hadnt been cleaned properly. The pool was big and we went a couple of times but we never got to any sunbeds in time. There arent enough sunbeds and they cram them all together so that you cant even walk in between them. We went half board on this holiday so we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The food was disgusting and we didnt get to choose what we wanted we had plated planted in front of us which we weren't even told what they were. We only ate there twice. Breakfast is nice if you like eating ham and cheese, tomato and cucumber as your breakfast!!! Admittedly they had boiled eggs as well but we werent interested in that.
One day by the pool all the sewage came up so we had to move from our sunbeds and grab our stuff before the sewage got to it. It smelled so bad that we had to leave so that was another day we couldnt spend by the pool!!! Im not usually one to complain but for the amount of money that we spent to stay there I expected more. The holiday itself was made better by the resort. We met some lovely people out there and our rep was great fun too. I would definately go back to Kos but never to stay in the Hotel Oscar.

we found the hotel on average was clean and friendly.
the food was not to our liking really as they did not provide a great variety of foods.
the hotel bar was quite expensive, although i do think they made the prices up as they went along as one night our drinks came to 7 euros and then another night they were about 5 euros?!?
overall the hotel was better than i had expected.

Hi Kayleigh, we stopped in the Oscar hotel in May 2004. The rooms are a bit on the cramped side & are in need of doing up, but i must say they are cleaned every day so that is a big bonus. Only stopped in hotel bar 1night as ther is no atmosphere whats so ever (might be a bit more lively when you go as its main season), The reception staff are brilliant & really friendly, the pool bar staff are really slimey! so watch out for the rude comments. Hope i haven't disapointed you but least you no what to expect.

hiya, i would just like to know if anyone has any more info on the oscar hotel in kos town?
me and my boyfriend are going at the end of june and would like to know what the hotel is like and what the staff are like. any info will be useful. cheers. x

Oscar hotel,well that hotel and the owner that also have lived in north sweden once is outstanding.The people that work there do everything to take good care of you when you are there.They arrange great feeling to be a part of their family.The food is very good,in night they close their pool but have lights on it so it looks so wonderful from outside.the wiev from the rooms is very good.Oscar hotel is very close to kos city and it is very easy to find.The rooms is very nice,decorated with brown,the bathroom we had went in blue it was so beatiful.Every morning we had a swim in their pool and it was awesome to wake up and hear the staff arrange for the day.
We enjoyed every day we were there and Oscar is a place i could stay for ever in.Unfortunately when i went back in december it was closed because i would like to visit the very friendly staff there that made our visit the best we ever had.I sure would love to go back there.
They also have a club with music that is very good so Oscar hold high quality in rooms,food,service and everything.Beside Oscar you have their sister hotel,i havent stayed there becaúse when i travel to Kos i look for Prices for Oscar.
To the owner that lived in sweden before i want to say thank you very much for your hospitality and hope to see you soon again.
