There are lots of good reviews for Akti Dimmys Appts. Where do I find the name and address or web site, or which brochures are the appts in. Want to go to Kos next year and Tingaki seems a good place and these appts sound just what I want. Hope someone can help me.
We had our very first holiday abroad this year, and thanks to everyone at the hotel, we had an unforgettable time. Our apartment was beautiful, and kept absolutely spotless. The staff were very kind and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definately be back next year. Thans to everyone
we just got back from the best 2 weeks ever.the apartments are perfectly situated across quiet road from beach, well run, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff especially Angela who made our 2 sons holiday one they will always remember.
was there last august ,not sure why i havent been back .perfect spot right on the beach .loved it
the staff were super and it was great fun, watch for the sizes of the rooms. if you dont like small spaces then not your place. angela is a star and george is fab bar staff we love you xx the location was good- but sunbeds everywhere- which we dont like so much. also a loud bar next door you hear all day and night is not too good. people tend to rate this place on people- but that isnt what makes ya holiday is it?
After reading all the comments on this site we were looking forward to going and it didn't disappoint
Just got back from Akti Dimmys, great holiday, great place, all previous comments on this site are spot on. One of the friendliest places we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Angela, George & Irini are fabulous. Will definitely be going back. Hi to Helen & Martin - hope Martin is better now!! Will be in touch soon.
We have been to Akti Dimmys for the last five years, my wife will not go any were ells, the family are all MALLAKS, Athena, George, Aki, Dimi,.I have been all over the world but this place is the best.Rooms great, Angela very helpful, Maria great cook

Thanks for the info on Air Conditioning Angela. Place sounds really good - can't wait to get there !!!
: As a family of 4 we stayed here in August 2005. Akti Dimis' is in an excellent location for bars and restaurants as well as the wonderful beach and bus stops etc... All the restaurants along the sea front are very nice indeed, particularly Dana's, and many recommend Munchies in the main street for snacks. The swimming pool, bar and snack bar at ADs are excellent and the service is peerless. Tourists return here year after year which is a testament to how enjoyable the place really is for families in particular but this can be somewhat intimidating for the new visitor. The staff are all excellent but you can feel overwhelmed by not being one of the regular crowd from time (they are scarily over prepared for the Monday eve Fancy Dress parties for example) although Angela does her best to treat all visitors equally and feel included. Kids have a wonderful time and it is easy for them to find amusement in the pool and also to take refuge from the heat of the day by playing pool indoors or watching rented films etc.. indoors. Rooms are a bit small but you hopefully won't spend too much time in them for it to matter too much.
Can anyone tell me how much the air conditioning costs per night/week - going to Akti Dimmys soon?
Just back from two weeks at Akti Dimmys and have to say it was the best holiday we have had. The apartments are basic but are spotlessly clean. The thing that makes AD's specials are the staff - Angela is always smiling and always likes to help out, Maria makes great meals and Athina, George and Irini make the nights in the bar great fun. The beach is across the road and is never too busy although the seaweed is a bit of a pain. The fancy dress party and the barbecues (6 euros for as much as you can eat) are great fun and everyone has a fantatic time. Look forward to returning soon.
we are going to kos and would like to do some of the boat trips, but we are a bit concerned about getting on and off the boats on the different trips cause a member of our party is disabled. will he have to climb off the boats and walk in the sea or are there jettys at the islands? we are thinking about the Nisyros trip, the 3 island trip and the 3 bay trip.
There are safety deposit boxes in these apartments, there is a well stocked supermarket next door to the apartments with almost every essential and their not too pricey. If you walk up the town to the very top of the main strip on the right hand side you will see a large supermarket you can get everything here but it is quite a long walk, I would say the one next door would be surfice for any family.
Can anybody tell us how the supermarkets are stocked in Tingaki, young kids will want some basic food, what are the prices like ?
2nd year running for me & my fiancee at akti dimmys. once again everything about the holiday was outstanding. would like to say a special thank you to athina who looked after my dad when he had to go to hospital, your thoughtfullness and kindness are a credit to you. also, thank you to angela, george, irini and maria for her fab food and to agi for being such a sweetie!
View from the hotel road.
o. k. kelly thanks for your help
got back last night from yet another fantastic holiday in akti dimmys. the weather was beautiful, windy some days but believe me you welcome the breeze. the staff are the best. athina, aki, dimitris, maria and angela are not just superb staff but are fantastic friends too and nothing is too much for them. george and irene behind the bar are ace and always up for a laugh. love the bbq greek nights, only 6euros for all you can eat and the food is superb. definately be back for my 6th time soon. we especially enjoyed seeing all the june crowd from last year, including pam and mike, christine and cyril. x
Has anyone got the e-mail address for akti dimmys, going the end of aug. 2005 need to know if you need to pre-book air conditioning
atiki dimmys do have safe deposit boxes they are in the reception when you get there angela will introduce her self to you she will show you the boxes and give you keys she will do anything to help you
can anyone pls help? we are going to Dimmys soon and would like to know if they have safety deposit boxes
What can i say about this place. It is a fantastic family run place. We love it that much i'm going back this year for my fifth time there with my fiance whos been there 9 times. the family who run it are fabulous and friendly, Athena, Angela, Atki, George, Maria and everyone else are fab. snack bar has gorgeous food, pool really good, and barbeque nights are the best.
Me and My family loved Akti Dimmys , Everyone was so friendly and we all had something to do. We all made alot of new friends and would love to go again sometime. Angela was super , and so was Athena. Loved the Monday night barbeques, pity that when we came , on the first monday , the wind was very strong and we had to have it inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It gave me a chance to pe thrown in a pool with a skirt on!!!! I really hope we could come again sometime. It was fantastic when all the men got dressed up as girls for Dimmy's Birthday!!!!
akti dimmys was cracking place all the staff were nice the apartments were basic but nipping clean, the cleaner was second to none (she even washed the dishes.
youve got to try marie's special cheeseburger!!
angela could not do enough for you
christos is the best barman i have encountered.
the beach was also very good for the time of year (october)
the pool could do with a heater especially in the mornings but if thats all you got to complain about i say stop at home
Brilliant in every aspect & I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
Akti Dimmys is the perfect spot for a perfect vacation. Not only because the hotel is beautiful and clean, the staff are really friendly and Dimitri, aiki,Athina,Angela,Maria and Jorgos are very nice. They are a part of my big group of family and friends.
A brilliant place reccommend it to anyone!!!
we have been going to akti dimmys or 2 years now because it is in a great location and has friendly people running it. It is great for restaurants etc but very hot and humid around august but you get used to it and all the rooms are air conditioned so dont worry about that. We would reccomend it to anyone. A great place!
Can you pls help, Someone posted on here with the telephone number of akti dimmys apartments in tingaki but I cannot find it now, could someone please help me to find the number as we are going 29th July 2004 and want to go and book the air conditioning direct thank you
the comments about building noise is not really fair, the work is just finishing off an extension at the back of the supermarket we were right opposite it, about 40 yarda away and it never disturbed us.
We have just returned from a brilliant two weeks at Akti Dimmis in Tigaki.A bit windy here but with the temps we had it was well needed. Brilliant position for Tavernas etc. Car, bike and Quod hire next door also small supermarket. Bus stop just a few yards away along with public phone. Just 5 mins walk to town with loads of Tavernas, if you want clubs, noisy bars don't come to Tigaki it's lovely if you like nice eating and quietish drinking. The beach is just about 20 paces from the pool, nice and clean and Dimmys have their own sunbeds on there (at a reduced rate) free by the pool. The pool is well maintained and for the first time in years I didn't get an ear infection. Large screen sky t.v. ideal as the football was on when we were there. Air con at a very reasonable rate about £25 for 2weeks. Rooms very clean, clean sheets every other day, towels daily. Nothing is to much trouble for Angela, Athena, Maria, and the rest of the staff most of who are Dimmis relatives. Also the Greeks are so honest I left my digital camera in the phone box one evening, realised after about 20 mins what I had done went back to the phone to find a waiter in the Taverna by the phone had taken my camera into the Taverna for safe keeping. Can you imagine this happening in England, I would never have seen it again. I can't praise Dimmis and Tigaki highly enough.
Haven't been to Kos before - a friend recommended we visit Zio at sunset but I gather it's quite often packed with coaches. Can anyone tell me what evenings the coaches DON'T go up to Zio so we can plan our evening accordingly? Thanks, Sarah x
The apartment and staff were very good. We watch Euro 2004 here. However if you are not into rat rat rapping the pool bar music is a bit repetitive. Ideal location right on the beach. Note however at 7am on our first morning we were woken by a pnuematic drill from some building works less than 50 metres away. Not the alarm call we really wanted. But Akti Dimmys is good.
sorry for the late delay, but here is the number for Akti Dimis:
Tel.No 0242/69092, 68210 Fax: 68211
hope this helps
yes Mary i do have a telephone number, i will have to look for it and i will get back to you soon.
Does anyone have a telephone number or email address for Akti Dimmys Apts? They are not in any Irish travel brochure and I would like to book it.
answer to the question of the tour operator going to Akti dimmys is mostly air tours
Which tour operator goes to Akti Dimmy's?
Stayed at Akti Dimmys in September 2004, we are a family of 4 and had a lovely time. The studio was typically greek a liitle small, but not a problem. Exceptionally clean.
Fantastic position for the children, opposite the beach and lovely pool on site, they made the most of the snack bar. Prices on par with resort.
Lovely friendly staff, who could not do enough for you.
We would certainly go back
Hi we have just returned from a two week break at Akti Dimmys it was our first time abroad and we were made very welcome by all the staff exceptionally by angela and george behind the bar at night. We made some geat freinds also our daughter sarah made some great freinds. As it has been stated the appartments were alittle on the small side but you really only spend alittle time in them apart from sleeping. they very clean and well maintained (SIX DAYS) The whole place was very well maintained. As for the dog shikera she had 5 pups only 3 survived also very cute. will definetly be returning hopfully next year. hope to see some of the crowd that were there sametime as us especially jason good laugh!!!
Hi all, went to Tingaki in August and we loved it. we stayed at Akti Dimmis Studios and it was great the place was nice and clean and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and so was the food. The beach was accross the road, sunbeds were 6e a day, the sea was shallow, warm and safe for kids. The town centre was 10 mins walk from the hotel. There is a varitey of restaurants and bars we liked the 'Mediterranee' best we went there 3 times, food was excellent the staff were so friendly and they gave you free drinks after your meal! Shops were full of touristy junk and the designer wear was all fake(little disappointing. We recommend that you go on The Island Tour that was good, price was expensive but it was worth it. We also went to the waterpark we enjoyed it but make sure you use lots of suncream especially on children. The food inside was expensive it included burgers, chips etc. All in all we loved Kos it was great and we will definatley be going back.
hello everyone arrived back from tingaki the end of last month. akti dimmys are lovely apartments have friendly staff and a great place to visit. see you next year
Just got back last night one of the best holidays yet the appartments are quite small with no dining area but the staff are all very friendly the pool area is very good right on beach and only a few mins walk in to night life with some bars and restaurants on way we will be going back there are only 35 studios so every one gets to know each other. some one let us know how dog goes on its pregnant only 2 weeks to go cheers
Tingaki is definetly the best resort on the island and akti dimmy's is an amazingly friendly place to stay with a good size pool and a lovely beach in front.
There's so much to do in kos,so i would recommend hiring a car,you can do that through akti dimmy's receptionist angela.
You can drive up to psalidi(where there is a water park) down to kefalos(lovely beach)/or Paradise beach(even nicer beach but v.busy) to kardamena(loads of shops but because the resort caters for younger people it's even cheaper for everything, including a large amstel!)in the evening go either to zia to watch the sunset,or to mastihari where there is a nice harbour and loads of nice tavernas to choose from. You can cover all resorts in one day, because the island is so small.
You can have a nice evening out in kos town by catching the bus from outside the hotel. The buses are v.cheap and always run on time so are v.reliable.there are many day trips to choose from e.g you can take a trip to bodrum in turkey for around 30euros for adults or you can go to rhodes aswell.Even though it's a small island there is so much to do!
Akti's is an extremely nice place, if you've booked here you've won the proverbial watch. Its right on one of the best beaches on the island. Its within 5 minutes walk of the square and all the main bars/restaurants.Maid service is outstanding;impeccable standards of hygiene/laundry service. Angela and Athena that run the place are very nice and very helpful(one of them also very beautiful, you'll know which one when you see them).Try Plori at the end of the beachfront for the freshest, best cooked fish. Take the bus(right outside Akti's every hour, very punctual/cheap) all over the island. If you can't enjoy yourself here then spend the rest of your days alone in a darkened room because you won't enjoy yourself anywhere.
We spent a week at Akti Dimmy apartments late May, and would definitely go back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are the typical style you get in Greece, and were cleaned daily, and had a nice balcony area outside with table and chairs.
Akti Dimmys is on the beachfront, and at the end of the Developed area so is quite peaceful. However they are still easy walking distance into the main area of Tingaki. Also the bus to Kos stops outside the apartments, so if you want to go to Kos Town during the day or in the evening, you can easily.
If we go back to Kos we will stay here again I think, because we had such a great time, and Tingaki is a nice place to enjoy, and a good location to use as a base for exploring the Island.
Don’t miss the thermal pools on the other side of the Island, hire a scooter or car and go and bath in them. They are hot, bubbling and very scenic (right on the beach)!!!
We have been to Tingaki twice & are returning a third time in May, we usually stay at the Ilios Apts, but this year are trying out the Akti Dimmy apts. Can anyone tell me the exact location of these apts. I know they are on the beach front but how far along from the taxi rank & the main bus stops.
Been to Dimmys twice now and going back again in three weeks (1st May)
Location is fantastic, right on beach - some road noise but not intrusive at all. The apartments are basically equipped, a reasonable size, and exceptionally clean (the maid service is outstanding) - all rooms have sliding doors onto a balcony equipped with tables and chairs.
There's a good snack bar in the hotel, menu not extensive but the food is good and reasonable; Bar (obviously); Good pool (with seperate smaller pool for the little people) and plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas; small playground area; and lounge area with large screen TV for cartoon and football fans.
Right next door to the hotel is Sevi rent a car (bike, cycle, quad, whatever really) and a very reasonable and well stocked mini market.
I can highly recommend eating at 'Esperos', restaurant couple of doors away (2 minutes) - Stamakis will make you very, very welcome and feed you well at a very good price.
A five to ten minute walk will take you to the centre of Tigaki, or go by taxi or horse drawn carriage. The hotel is also on the main Kos bus route.
There are lots of bars in Tigaki, all touting for trade with a variety of cocktails, offers, loud music, the latest movies or premium televised sporting events. My favourite however was without any doubt 'Mickis' - slightly off the main street (behind Dana restaurant on the beachfront) but exceptional in every way - service (watch out for the mad but very charming and attractive Aussie - Micki), quality (unbelieveable cocktails as well as the usual), quantity (you have been warned), amazing regulars (all now good friends), and fantastic music. You must go!!
Hi, we have been to Tingaki on several occasions in the past few years, but have booked to go to the Akti Dimmys Apts this May for the first time. We know the location of the appartments, having spent some of our last holiday on the beach in front of the Appartments.
I am going with my 13 year old son and the 2 things he wants to know and I am unable to answer are: 1) Do the appartments have any Greek nights/evening entertainment? and 2) We were only able to book a studio (that sleeps 4) how big are the studios? Quite trivial questions really, but, as Mom is supposed to know everything!!! can anyone help? I booked by phone and have been unable to get a tour operators book.
Thank you
Just back last night ! (20th Sept 2002) Appts are not large by any means but ok for a week or two. Maid service, towels etc EVERY day but Sunday (also did dishes two days which made us feel guilty ! ) Location is great, few yards to beach which is is gently shelving and looooong. Turn left out of hotel and walk for 5/10 mins to main (only!)street which is full of resturants (Omar is good, up main street on the right and for a really nice more Greeky type of meal the one along on the front called Prior or Pror is first class) Big supermarket at top of the street but it's cheap everywhere so not a problem. Hired a car next door at "Sevi" £54 for 3days which I thought was great. Try a run up to Zia when the coaches are not there - views are great - also Paridise beach for snorkeling - fish galore by the rocks on the right hand side of the bay. Kos town for an evening out - just get the bus outside the hotel. Some tacky shops for tourists but hey, that's what we go for ! The Greek folk are always friendly but in Kos they are wonderful and very proud of their island. Angela is a gem as are all the staff. All in all one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. Loved every minute - even the freak hurricane!!!
General info about kos and pix of akti dimmy apartments
Hy been to Akti Dimis aug 17th 2002 . Great people great beach.Apartments basic Greek style but very clean. Just ask for Julia she is the owners daughter and is really freindly and helpful. We are hoping to go back soon.
