Just got back from Akti Dimmys, great holiday, great place, all previous comments on this site are spot on.  One of the friendliest places we have ever had the pleasure of staying in.  Angela, George & Irini are fabulous.  Will definitely be going back.  Hi to Helen & Martin - hope Martin is better now!!  Will be in touch soon.

Found this restaurant after reading comments on this site.  Only 5 mins walk from roundabout past Taka Taka Mam, lovely setting, typical greek taverna.  Food was good, service great, worth a visit.

One of the best in Tingaki by far, well worth a visit.  Good friendly service, delicious food.  I had one of the Chefs Specials - Pork fillet in pineapple sauce, served with baked potatoes, broccoli, carrots, rice and salad.  My husband had Steak a la Creme - both very good indeed.

We are heading back to Tingaki and Akti Dimmys in August.  This will be our second visit - we loved it so much we're taking all our family back with us this time.  Cannot fault the apartments or the staff.  Location is superb - right opposite the gorgeous  beach and shallow sea, ideal for young children. Can't wait to visit Zia up in the mountains and see that beautiful sunset again !!!!  Roll on August 16th !!!

In reply to Jenny & Co - we're off to Akti Dimmys last two weeks in August too Smile    This will be our second visit, has to be the friendliest place we have ever stayed at.  All the comments on this site are spot on.  We couldn't fault the place, the staff or Tingaki itself.  Loads of souvenier shops etc for the kids, and lots of child friendly bars & restaurants.  I can promise you won't be disappointedClap   The walk from Akti Dimmys to Tingaki takes about 10 mins and is a very pleasant walk along the beach road.  Bus ride to Kos Town is also a must and very cheap.  Hope you have a great holiday (may even see you there!!!).

Clap Just back from another 2 great weeks in Tingaki and more great meals at Ikarus.  Try the Ikarus Special - Pork medallions in home made sauce with greek potatoes, brocolli, carrots & rice - GREAT.  Also try 'King Brocs' (king prawns) in White Wine & Garlic Sauce  &  Beef Fillet with Blue Cheese Sauce.  All meals we had there were SUPERB.  They also have a small play area for kids - sandy area not grass - enclosed so they play safely.  Will definitely be back !!!

Clap  Well, what can I say, just returned from Akti Dimis - another great holiday & all down to Athena and her great staff.  Superb holiday had by all.  Also managed to see Angela at the BBQ night with her baby daughter Katarina - beautiful little girl !!!  We will definitely be going back soon.

Zia Sunset - (Places to Visit on Kos)

Elaine W          10/10

Our third visit to Zia, and this time we found a lovely little Greek Taverna called "Sunset Balcony".  You have to climb up through the winding alleyways of small shops towards the Old Watermill.  Carry on up past here until you reach the Sunset Balcony Taverna perched right on the edge of the rocks and by a lovely small church.  Great view of the sunset from here and great traditional Greek food.  If you ever go there try their dessert called "Traditional Tomatoe Sweet".  Never seen it anywhere else in Kos, and it was lovely.  They preserve the tomatoes to make them sweet (like glace cherries) and serve with thick Greek Yoghurt and Honey !!!!!  Gorgeous!!!

Tingaki Resort - (Resorts on Kos)

Hi Gillian

We have been to Tingaki many times and there is only one ATM in the village, at the beach end of the main road by the fountain roundabout.  We usually take travellers cheques with us and there are several exchange /travel agents in the village.  Best restaurants by far are Nisiotiko - the one with the blue & white checked tablecloths, and Sagitariaus right towards the top end of the main road.  A good Bar is 7Dayzs - say hello to Irini 'The Greek Goddess' who runs the bar from Mr. Sam & ElainieLaugh.  Have a good holiday!!!!!

Sam & Elaine Woodall Smile
