Have just got back from a week at these apartments, they are fantastic. They are basic but very spacious, and are cleaned once a week, with new towels and sheets.
The pool area is amazing, very clean with enough sunbeds for everyone, it never got crowded and was very relaxing. There is a small pool bar that serves food aswell ie greek salad, chips, breakfasts etc. There is also a huge range of drinks available too. We spent every night having a late night drink with the owners and other holidaymakers, it was fantastic.
I recommend hiring some form of transport, we hired bikes very cheaply 10 eur for 2 days for 2 of us. They were a great way to see the local area and to carry heavy bottles of water. The supermarket is a good 15 minute walk, and in the heat with heavy shopping its very hard work.
The main Tingaki road has plenty of places to eat i recommend Andreas Taverna the food is lovely.
I loved it here, we were made to feel very welcome and there is so much to do on the island if you want to, or.. you could just sit by the georgous pool looking at the spectacular views of the mountains all around, and getting a lovely tan!

I stayed ay these apartments september 2006 for 2 glorious weeks and it was fantastic. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the owners are extremely friendly The pool is cleaned regulary and rooms done every other day.I wouldn't reccommend these apartments to people who have trouble walking as it is a 20-25min walk to the shops bars and restaurants Although I went with my mum and step dad I felt that comfortable and at ease there that I'm planning on going again this september on my own. The greek people are really friendly and do everything they can to make you feel welcome. It was my 1st time in tingaki but my parents have been a few times before and I'll tell you something I was that stress free and relax I really didn't want to come home

In answer to the previous question about the location of Agrotica Apartments - they are approx 25 mins walk to the nearest beach. They are at the upper end of Tingaki a little off the beaten track but not totally isolated. The nearest hotel with any activities/TVs etc is the Hotel Ilios. The nearest restaurant is the Sagittarius Restaurant. The most accurate description of the map location is looking at the main Tingaki road where you turn off to go to Marmari. Take this road for about 1 mile and you get to the Agrotica Apartments.

Liked the location very much and was very quiet-except for a few animal noises at times which were no problem. As we like walking it suited us down to the ground,a nice walk into the town/beach and back and also to the next villages.Must admit only used the pool area a couple of times when we were the only ones there. Was clean but the bins only emptied every other day.We had the first appartment which was probably the best with a back/side/front balcony given brilliant views all around and of the salt lake and sea in one direction and fields, mountains in the other.Never got to switch the grill on.
One complaint was that it cost 30 Euros to keep the room after mid-day.

Hi Kath
It's Tracey (of Tracey and Karl).
Just thought I'd check the latest comments and there you were!!
Anyway, we're definitely going back this year-Saturday August 13th for two weeks. For some reason, they've stopped flying from East Mids on a Wednesday.
I presume you'll be therearound the same time, so see you in three weeks or so!
Lisa and Joe are going, too, but not with the same friends as last year, so at least you'll get a decent night's sleep.
I'll keep checking the site so stick your dates on there if you revisit.
See you soon,
Tracey and Karl.

We have stayed here for the past 3 years and this is our 4th year.  We hope it is just the same.  Yaryar(grandma in greek) does not speak English but talks anyway.  She is lovely.

Apartments are 20minutes walk from Tingaki but that is good.  Pool is excellent, kept very clean, water cold on entering but so nice in the hot sun.  Many people who go there, go every year.  Sad it is not in 2006 brochure of Olympic.  When there you must visit Nickos at Christians restaurant, they cater for everyone and is good for vegetarians.  Ipanema bar is good in Tingaki for a family drink.
Pompey and Choco the dogs at the apartments are lovely.  Food is available at the snack bar at the pool as are drinks.
Looking forward to holiday 2005!!! Maybe meeting Tracey and Carl, Joe and Lisa again.

I stayed here in july 2004 with my wife, and i can tell you that it was the most peacefull holiday we have had abroad. The owners of the complex were superb as hosts and we were so pleased we booked another holiday in the october.

Has anybody got the correct postal address for the Agrotica Apartments in Tingaki (Kos)?

John H

I went to the Agrotica at the end of May 2004 with my sister &
brother in law.

The owners were a family concern, 'Mamma' as she was known to us,
her son, daughter in law and grand daughter, were all charming.

The accomodation was adequate for our needs, the scenery all around
was really beautiful. Although a 20 /25 minute walk into Tingaki,
we didn't mind at all. Mamma's son spoke good English and was very
helpful towards my brother in law, (who knows a little Greek now )and
was given some useful tips about this language.

All in all this was a really enjoyable holiday.

What can I say? Our first visit was in 2000 and we've been back every year since!
The apartments are basic but very clean and well maintained. The location is idyllic if peace and quiet are what you're looking for.
Can't imagine holidaying anywhere else.

me and my partner went there in july for 2 weeks and had a great time the owner billy and his wife toska and of course maria (momma) were brilliant nothing was too much trouble for them if you want to see picture's and more info on the agrotika apts or in kos in general you can join my group on msn its free you can mail me at travelling_kos2004@hotmail.com believe me its worth going its paradise the views the weather everything is pout of this world.........

Ian T

The owner and his wife (pronounced Versilly and Toska) run the apartments with the help of Versilly's Mother.
It is a family run, very clean, basic accomadation site.

The walk to town is about 20 minutes. The nearest Cash machine is another 5 minutes down the road. The local supermarket stocks pretty much all you'll need.

We reccommend "Christian's" Restaurant, as will Versilly and Toska !
Food and atmosphere are fantastic as are all the staff there.

Taxis are a nightmare, but you can always try to get one through the family's phone.

All we can add is that we had the most fantastic time at the Agrotica Apartments. We were very well looked after and we were treated as if we were part of the family !!

We're just about to book next years holiday but for two weeks this time.

Oh, and the cheese and ham toasties and the english breakfasts at the pool bar are blinding !!! Tea and Coffee are free all morning. Although the bar does shut quite early (except on Saturdays).

Go here only if you want peace and quiet. If you're looking for a hectic nightlife, closer to Kos Town would be better.

Our 1 week stay,in MAY, myself, my sister and brother in law was a most enjoyable time spent.

The owner known as Mamma only spoke Greek, but she was lovely.
Her son and his dutch wife did speak good English however.

The whole family made you feel very welcome and although the appartments were about 20 minutes walk from Tingaki, the scenery
all around was spectacular.

We used the Agrotica as our base and used our week hiring a car for
3 days or using public transport, taxi or coach for the organised trips that were possible.

Cath T

John and I have been to Agrotica for the last 4 years and this place is absolutely brilliant. The people who run the apartments are really superb, and I can only say that if you want to have a really good holiday go there, would love to hear from vassillis and toska, you can contact kath and john on cathtingle@msn.com. ps.make sure you check out the food @ christians

Geoff A

we had a smashing time here last year the other guest were very friendly the owner and his mum were the tops they cooked at dinner time ther was fresh fruit in the mornings they named the puppy we found pompy he gave me the bar keys so we could help are selfs and pay later no body ripped them off

I stayed here 18 months ago with my husband, it is a good half hour walk into tingaki so you need to hire bikes which are no good at night as they do not have lights. The rooms were like prison cells with bars on windows and very sparingly furnished. I think it will have improved as it has gone under new ownership. The previous owner would not let you pay for drinks and snacks until the end of your stay so you ended up with a large bill on checking out, i hope this has changed.

Lynda C

The appartments are very basic but still very nice. It is about 15 minutes walk to the main part of tigaki. You can hire bikes though. The owner does not speak much english, but her son does. the appartments are away out but there is a lovely pool which is in the sun all day .Lovely church near by with lit up green crioss which we used when we came back at night as pointer. buy a candle or too as when there is rain the electricity goes.
