Accommodation in Kos Town

  What can I say

Karen Y

what can i say, my partner joe and i have been travelling to the greek islands for our summer holidays for the last 14 years, mostly with kosmar holidays.  this holiday was absolutely exceptional as we had a fantastic time.  one of the main things which made is so special, was the lovely greek family which owned the anna studios on kos town.  not just veronica and her husband tony but there 3 lovely children anna, bill and little jenni. it was not like being on holiday but like visting specail friends as nothing was to much trouble.

as with most of the greek islands the accomidation is basic.  we have stayed is alot and the anna are by far one of the best.  spacious, very clear, comfortable, beautiful swimming pool, excellent food and a warm and welcoming bar.  the location was excellent 8 min by pus bike to kos town centre or a 20 min stroll.  the only noise we came across was the humming of the crickets on the way home. veronica and tony also put on a bbq every thursday night so that they and the other guest can meet and get to know each other which we have never had before and it was excellent.

this was our first time in kos and to the anna studios but to quote a famous saying " we'll be back"

i did hear amoungst the olive trees that are some of you out there who do not agree with me.  all i can say is get a life !!!!!!!!!

thanks again for everything.

veronica i promise i will be back.

good luck and best wishes

love

The Anna Studios and Apts are run with a warm family atmosphere Veronica, Tony & family make your stay feel comfortable and relaxing, there is a happy and content feel to your stay with them. The whole family make you feel welcome, and there is much fun and laughter around the pool and in the poolside bar. The rooms are comfortable and clean with air conditioning available if needed.

It is close enough to Kos Town to walk to some lovely resturants local foods are served well presented and at reasonable prices. For the more lively there are some great bars and cafe's in the town and the people are friendly

I would definately recommend a visit for a good relaxing time in the company of friends.

Myself and my wife have just spent a wonderful fortnight at Anna studios and apts. These apts are family run and this shows very much by the way they pull together with the day today running of estamblishment and also how friendly they all are. And it was with great regret I had to leave at the end of my holiday. I will certainly be recommending the Anna to all my friends and I would hope to return again myself.  YAMAS TO ALL THE FAMILY: Tony, Veronica, Bill, Anna and little Jenny!!!  THANKS AGAIN FOR A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!!!

Totaly disagree with comments that I have just read on this site, the Anna apartments are fantastic. I stayed there last year with my two sons, sister and her daughter. We made friends with Veronica and her lovely family, whatever we asked for we got, nothing was too much for them and believe me we had them running around for us. Not once were we snubbed for not eating at the Anna, we went out into Kos town every night and would come back late and have a nightcap with Tony. There is not one thing that I can say that would be bad.

We had such a fantastic time that as soon as we got back we re booked and arrive 1st May this year.
We are all looking forward to it so much.

Look out where back!!!!!

Holiday from hell! Do not go to these apartments! my family and i stayed in these apartments for 2 weeks the first week the owners seemed ok we had drinks in there bar but were expensive and lacked variaty. one night we found a greek night down the road and decided to sample so greek culture, on returning to the apartment bar we found it closed with just Tony the owner sitting in there drinking. we asked why he was closed so early? he said "good night" on repeating the quesion we got the same response! This was a taster of things to come.We found out that from our kos rep that it was an insult to him to eat and drink anywhere else!? we had booked tickets to the greek night at his bar the next night we had already payed our 13euros each so we decide we had to go. the night had a adavtised as all u can eat with lots of different foods and salads this wasent the case with a few salads and 4 kabab sticks that was it,after the the first wave of people qued and ate there was a diminsed amount of food with no replenshment and certianly not ALL U CAN EAT! We then found a hotel across the road the Nefeli with and all night bar and staff that were always happy to help and invited us to there greek night whice was amazing with a live band profesional greek dancers, free drinks, free shots of sambuka a masive varity of meats and salads and most definetly All u can eat. meanwhile at the anna studios we had to enjor dirty rooms that wernt cleaned and the beds wernt made and my wife suffured asmer attacks and breathing problems due to the amount of dust and dirt in the rooms. the swimming pool was always frezzing and uninviting on aproching the owners the wert botherd. then we noticed that in our room stuff was being moved and light were being turned off, our best freinds that acomponyed us to the apartments had there credit cards in there draw when they came back to the room after a trip to turkey they couldnt find them after an entire room serch they found them stuffed into an empty chuwing gum rapper and hidden!! After the third night of light switching and things being move i left a note before i left my room saying "stay out" when returning the was a note saying "i pay the bills not you" after this i didnt feel safe with my 3 kids in the room.We reported this to the kos rep Alice o'conner she didnt care didnt write out a report and was extremly unprofesional we found out that she was best friends with the owner. After suffering rude behavour, invasions of privicy and a total unprofesional kosmar representitive we were very glad to go home!

The hotels appearance is shabby and poorly maintained. On entering the rooms we found dust under the beds; the mattresses were of a poor quality. The bedroom furniture was basic and appeared homemade. The kitchen area consisted of one small rusty electric hob; which we couldn’t use as I received an electric shock. The fridge appeared new but when opened smelled and was yellow inside.
When we went down to the bar, we asked the man who introduced himself as Tony; where we could cash travellers cheque he told us he didn’t know, and turned his back; Instantly we thought this man was arrogant. The pool appeared to be dirty around the pool wall linings and I noticed an oily residue {like a petrol stain} on the surface and patches on the pool lining; on entering the water it was icy cold even though the sun had been on it most of the day. When we commented on the coldness of the pool to the management all they had to say was “Don’t go in it then.”
The Greek night was advertised as seven different salads, and barbeques all you can eat all night. Which sounded appealing for €13 per person; on the night there were four salads and three small skewered kebabs. Once the guests had eaten the small portions served on the small plate it was quickly cleared away, and were expected to purchase drinks and ridiculous prices. Once he had counted his takings for the night the entertainment finally started; which comprised of his daughters and his wife dancing to a C.D. Quite frankly we thought we were being taken for mugs. As far as other entertainment for the evening we had to amuse our selves by playing musical chairs.
We met up with other couples with children; and they felt that quite frankly the holiday was a waste of money; so we organised an evening meal at a local tavern; where we discovered a Greek night; we didn’t have to pay for the entertainment and only had to pay for food and drink. This was by far a superior evening as professional artists’ preformed live music and dancing; with audience participation. On returning to the apartments that evening at 10:40 we went to the bar the owner Tony just said “Goodnight” in an aggressive and abrupt tone; and closed the bar. We later asked our rep if we had done something to offend the owner. She said “because we were spending money somewhere else we had offended him” Surely it was our money we could spend it where we chose; we explained, the rep seemed indifferent. For the remaining eleven days this man was ignorant and would find other things to do before serving us at the bar.
We went to the Nefeli Hotel across the road for drinks and meals throughout the rest of the holiday; we were also invited to use all available facilities including: pool, pool side bar ECT free of charge. We were also friendly with the owner Nicos who invited us to his restaurant {Hellas} where we enjoyed a meal for twelve at extremely low prices. We cannot praise Nicos and his family enough, for making us feel so welcome.
When Tony the owner of apartment found we were spending money over at Nefeli Hotel; we soon discovered our rooms were being entered while we were out in the evening; things were being moved and our luggage was being searched, small items were disappearing such as, film for cameras and camcorder tapes; one of the family were befriended thought they had lost credit cards which were later discovered in a large chewing gum packet near the bin.
On coming home one evening Tony (the owner) was on the top floor landing messing about with some electrical wires; we went out for a couple of hours then returned to find there was no lighting on the stairs leading to our top floor apartment; we thought this was deliberate attempt to spoil our remaining time there. We mentioned this to our rep and she explained there was a fault. We also explained to the rep that our fifteen year old daughter came back at around nine in the evening for the safety deposit key, and Tony threw the key at her while shouting. “Go f*$king drinking over there then” he was drunk. The rep said she would deal with it but nothing was mentioned again. Subsequently because we had complained to the rep about the owner’s attitude he wrote a letter to Kosmar saying I had physically threatened him; if this was the case why didn’t he call the police.
We also got the impression that because the rep had been there so long; she was under the influence of the owners.
The final straw that broke the donkeys back was when the rep knocked on the door; and asked to speak to us; she explained that the owners wanted €50 for a mattress that our young son had accidentally soiled in the night. We explained the rep that this was an accident and surely this sort of things happens all the time with young children. I refused to pay the full amount and was willing to pay half the amount for the inconvenience; also we explained the cleaner hadn’t been leaving sheets to put on the beds. The sheets were only changed once in the fortnight we were there; the owners were not interested and just wanted the money to a degree that the actually called the police.
We explained the police that this man had been deliberately been trying to ruin our holiday for the entire week including standing in his driveway at two and three in the morning laughing and pointing while making rude gestures at us. As a gesture of goodwill {not to give the Brits a bad name} I paid the money and the policeman left with out pressing charges. However the manager placed the mattress outside the room for everyone to see.

We have been going to Kos Town for many years, and these were the worst studios we have ever seen. It was truly a holiday from hell. It was not possible to get hardly any sleep as the studios were very very noisy mainly from the outside bar which was open sometimes until 2.30 - 3am. There was not any comfort in the studios and the decor left a lot to be desired. The beds were changed once in the fortnight. The sheets were so old they were grey, were stained and had holes in them. The towels were changed twice, the second time the day before we left to come home. The doors into the studios were so difficult to lock that no one bothered and just slammed them. The owners were not interested when we complained about the noise in the early hours of the morning and were not at all friendly.

The family who own the apartments are absolutetly brilliant. They always want to help really friendly and kind. We are going back next year to visit them again.

Don't know where the Posiden hotel is. Anna is not far from the Fire Station which is just off the main road into Kos Town

Caroline B

We didn't stay here but at the Ioanna Studios. Shared the pool at Anna's and got the know the family well. Great, friendly place. Fantastic Greek Night where the whole family joins in. Great BBQ Tony and Veronica's food is good. Keep in touch with son Bill by email.

Looking forward to seeing them all again in June 2004.

Nice place away from the busy town, although can get lively during the evenings at the bar. Good location. Would recommend.
