Me and my family are hoping to vist Kos this summer, but we are unsure on where abouts to stay. I was wondering out of Kos town and Kardamena which is better for bars, restaraunts and clubs. Also does anyone have any hotels they would reccomend which are in Kos town or Kardamena.

Spent 2 months in Kos Town in 2006, visited for a week in 2007 and it was awful having to leave after a week. I am returning in July 08 for a month or so and cant wait, it's such a brilliant place. If you want to completly chill out, this is possible or if you want mad nights out this is possible too, thats the beauty of Kos.  I visited Tigaki, Kardemena, Zia, Therma, Lambi in 2006, all wonderful places, Zia is a little mountain village, the views are spectacular, well worth a visit. On bar street in Kos Town be sure to visit Heart Rock, Saloon Tex, Cactus & mollys. dancing on the bar til after 4am is the normal in these places. Head to Jackons beach during the day where there is plenty of action. I have stayed in the Anastasia hotel whick is about 10/15 min walk fom the harbour & bar street. everyone is so friendly in kos, ,ake sure you do some boat trips, great value for money. Kardemena is absolutuely crazy, was only there on 2 occasions & am looking forward to returning for a couple of nights out this summer! I have made good friends from my stay in 2006 and cant wait to spend a few weeks with them again, if you go to Kos you are guaranteed to return.

Just returned this morning from a week at Psalidi which is a 45 minute walk along the seafront from Kos Town.  Absolutely fantastic holiday, the place, the weather and the people were brilliant. You can spend a whole week wondering around the town discovering new little streets and sights each time.  The journey on the little blue train from the waterfront is great, it runs every hour from 10.00 a.m. and costs 4 euros.  It goes through the streets of the town and climbs up to the Roman ruins where Hippocrates studied medicine.  The views from here over the bay to Turkey are fantastic.

You can wonder along by the harbour where very persuasive people will try and sell you trips on their boats.  We went on one to Bodrum and also the ones to three islands, both excellent days out.  Beware they leave at Greek time (in other words never on time).  The boat to Bodrum was supposed to leave at 9.30, we set sail at 11.00 a.m. but the wait was well worth it.  The three islands trip was the most relaxing experience I have ever had, sunbathing on the deck between islands, barbeque lunch was included. There are great cafes everywhere and all food and drink is very reasonable, the waiters speak English and are very polite and helpful.

It was quieter because it was October and this was good and just the right temperature (28-30 degrees) for wondering around.  Give it a try!

The small green road train which goes around Kos Town is a rip off 4 euros each to go on, and it should take 20 minutes. When we went on it . It got round in not more than 10 minutes.

Hi there Kelly, Kos is FAB, if like me you enjoy hot days, hot nights and even hotter guys then Kos is your place!

Any way, maybe we could meet up for a laugh and a giggle babe x

Sarah M

Just returned from lovely holiday in Lampi.  Had paid for half board at our hotel, but came across the Granada restraunt which served such excellent food that we eat most of our evening meals there! It's a family run business and they really do look after you.  The free oozos at the end of the meal was an added bonus.  I'd definately recommend that you have a meal there as the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get ~ enjoy!

Dan M

kos town is great if u like any of the following:

drinking lots of free shots, eating gorgeous cheapfood( pizzas in LaStrega mmmmm), sun bathing in 30 degree heat everyday, visiting some fascinating greek and roman ruins, want to travel around a few different islands for 20 euro or so, enjoy meeting warm natured generous people, dancing on top of bars, singing kareoke

I cant emphasise enough how much I enjoyed this holiday. as long as u are prepared to chat to new people u will have an excellent time! lol

Sam E

hi kelly its only 10 minutes by bus or you can hire a cycle and go along the beach road were going back in aug loved it have a good holiday

Karl B

stayed at anastasia appts basic but clean staff very friendly not ideal for couples or families could be noisy in the evening as groups of teenagers were there.excellent resteraunt turn right out of front of hotel pass the supermarket on your right called    steki    good food ,service and a warm welcome would really recommend and competitive prices

Louisa

Got back from Kos town last week and had such a good time that we have already booked to go back on the 16th august!!!
Id recommend going to Woodstock beach bar and restaurant by day and Charisma bar by night. These places have wicked people working there!!! Aspa1 apartments is a great place to stay due to its location, its restaurant and its Irish bar! Great places to eat would be flamingoes and I know its cheesy, but a place called Goodys for the burgers and Everest for its amazing club sandwich!
Kos Town is nothing like kardemena as it makes you feel like your on holiday in greece and not on some young boozy night out!!!

Tony A

Hi Clair,

On the first posting you were talking about Lambi and Pslidi,  and now you say Tigaki and Lambi, by the way the Pelagos Suites are very nice, a little out but it is flat so you can all ride the bikes. The distance from the Pelagos to the Iris is about  10/ 12 Km.

Were you also asking about the sunset?   If so you should go up to Zia to see it, if you take the Greek Night excursion you will see it then.

Any more questions, you can get my telephone from my web page.

Tony A

You asked how far it is from Psalidi to Lambi, it depends which accommodation it is in each resort, but it is about a 10 minute taxi ride, but there is a bus sevice, and you can hire bikes and it is very flat. If you let me know the names of the Hotels / Apartments I maybe able to give you a better idea.

I have included a map with both Psalidi and Lambi marked on it, just click the map to enlarge it.

Hi I stayed in Elite Studios which I highly recommend in Kos town about 2 years ago when I was 19 with my friends who varied from my age to 24.  The apartments were fantastic and roomy, extremely clean and well maintained. They were about 10 mins from beach 5 mins from bar and there was a supermarket across the road stocked with everything. There is a restaurant next door ran by the Elite Studios owner which was good food at great prices. There was a pool at the apartments which is a bonus in Greece! as its quite common in Greece not to have them. The pool was plenty big enough for the 14/16 apartments and had lots of sunbeds which you dont pay for either. The owners also dont mind if you like lilo's!!! Yey!! Kos Town offered everything we wanted. A great beach, fantastic bars at night and plenty of them and glorious sunshine. The apartments were run by Poppy and her husband who helped us find our bearings and arranged a jeep for us on a couple of days.

I can't remeber what company it was but they arranged days/evenings out a bit like club 18-30 in Kos Town like beach bbq's and Bar crawls which we were invited to go on even though we were not holidaying with this company because they did holidays at this apartment too. We went on the Bar crawl which was a really good way of getting to know where the good pubs and Clubs were in Kos Town.

We hired an open top jeep on 2 days as we were there for 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. Kos is easy to get around and only takes about 45mins to get from one side of island to the other. We went to Bubble beach which is beautiful and carried on to Kardamena on one day which has more to offer than Kos Town. It's Club 18-30 style but on a smaller scale. A lot more attractive than Ayia Napa and Ibiza yet the nightlife is as good. I'm going back to Kos this year but will be staying in Kardamena this time as I'm going with different friends. If anyone knows any good apartments please let me know.

There are plenty of restaurant choice in both Kardamena and Kos Town. Plenty of English food or Local of your more adventurous and of course who could forget there is even McDonalds and KFC for the desperate!!

On the 2nd day we hired the jeep we went to do some sightseeing which Kos has if you fancy it. We went to neighbouring Tingaki which has better beaches than Kos Town but only takes about 10 mins in a car. There are buses from Kos Town!

We had a fantastic holiday here and I will be returning again and hopefully to the Elite Studios too once I've tried Kardamena. I hope you find this helpful and have a as good a holiday as we did.

Hi, just wanted to say we will be going back to Kos this year for the third year running! We received the welcome of our lives three years ago and had a magical time there, in fact I can't imagine holidaying anywhere else and one day hope to live there permenantly

Have stayed at Atlantis Hotel and Polina Studios, in fact staying there again this year! The studios were basic but clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly.
The island has so much to offer and doesn't seem to lose its charm the way some holiday resorts have, Kos Town is my favourite but Kardemena is stunningly beautiful, and the beach is to die for, well worth the trip.

Favourite place to eat has to be Granada Restaurant Bar - Folias Ionnis, Lambi.Kos. You will get a fantastic meal there and a welcome second to none, this family owned restaurant is simply the best!
Costas and his family will look after you very well there.

Best way to see the island by day is by moped, cheap to hire and great fun! And no I'm not a young 'un!!

Anyway, just wanted to give my opinion on a beautiful island, its paradise!!! Breaks my heart when I have to go home

To:-  Adam Matthews,

With regard to your request for information, what sort of   'star'   rating  are you looking for, and what is the farthest distance from KOS TOWN are you prepared to travel?

There is a fair bit of information on my web site which is:

I know quite a lot of Hotels with pools. you can always email me from my web page.

Tammy

went to kos town on my first ever holiday with me fella and have to say i had the most magical time, we thought we were going for a relaxing time but found when we got there that there was too much to do to be ignored. we did the three island tour, the greek night, therma springs and took a very hair raising bike ride up a make shift greek motorway to the ancient castle at the top of the mountain in the middle of the island- we nearly died a few times but i had the time of my life, it was hot - paradise beach was amazing and we loved everything we did there. the fish house is a beautiful restaurant in the square......lush! but don't get too piddled cos i fell down the steps on my way out and twisted my ankle. on the last night we ate in a taverna on the main road, the tables were on the sand and locals and tourists alike all had there breath taken away by the most amazing sunset i've ever seen- an orange moon lit up the sky and the boats all took on the colour, i even had a little tear cos it felt like kos was giving me a goodbye token to take home with me. thank you to maria at hotel meditaranee, you were a star and i hope to see you again one day, and to gavin my mad welsh rep...what a nutter! loved it loved it loved it. make sure you shop in kos town at night and take a peek at the harbour at the same time, it's soooo different than in the day- a real experience. i left a piece of me there and took a piece home with me and i plan to do the same on a few other greek islands very soon. xxxx

Tony A

Hi Gemma,

RE:  PSALIDI  TO  KOS
It takes in between five and ten minutes in a taxi, if you look at my web site which is:-    www.tonyainsworth.co.uk     and click on Kos then on Kos Information you will find a map with both places marked.
You can rent a push bike as it is very flat around Kos Town. If you want any more info you can email me at:-   tonyainsworth@aol.com   or telephone on 02476 368289

Xina E

we are a family of four kids 3 and 7. when arriving here we thought how clean the apartments were. there isnt anything for the kids to do at any age, just a pool table and fuseball, no clubs and some very old age playground equipment. the pool was lovely even though the bridge was closed off. the local beach was well dodgy, with old concrete pipes on the beach and litter every where also with lots of craggy rocks close to the sand making it impossible to go in.

there is a mile long walk to the main centre and with two young kids this is long and tiring. you can get a taxi but after a while it can mount up in money.
the town itself is lovely, with a picturesque look at the harbour, plenty of trips to go on with all the boats offering you a day trip somwhere.
the restaurants near the harbour are very good and they make a family feel relaxed and at home with very helpful and friendly staff.
shops are everywhere you walk and if you are like me you will be in heaven with all the pretty little knick nack shops.
the food on the apartment site were ok the family who run it are vey polite and helpful, though it takes a bit of time to get served. the rooms are not that good, we gave two kids and mty husband and myself all had a single bed each, not very comfy and the pillows were very flat, one sheet and a scabby blanket that will make you itch. a two ring hob and no grill incase you wanted toast like we did as we were self catering. the room is not what it is supposed to look like when you get the picture to book it.

a few people we spoke to said do not do 2 wks here as it will drive you and the kids  scatty. go end of september to first week of october as any later you will be freezing and its very windy.

C J

Kos Town was one of the nicest resorts I have ever been to. It has something for everyone - families, young groups and couples. It was absolutely beautiful at night with all the boats lit up and sitting in the square overlooking the marina was awesome. There is bar street for the younger crowd and they even had cute little music cafes tucked away in the backstreets. The ruins were really interesting and totally free and the castle was good to look around for an hour or so. Its not your usual bucket and spade resort, it has culture and history to it. I spent two whole days of my holiday looking around and still didn't have time to see everything. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, its a gem!

Lisa O

Kos was really nice, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.  Spent a lot of time in Blues Brothers and Shennanigans on a night time.  Spent most days on the beach at the Sunburn Arms, Yannis, Sam and not forgetting Anastasia were so welcoming and friendly.  If your read this Sam thanks for the wine it was lovely.  Went on a couple of boat trips and can recommend the Santa Maria as the guy on there is entertaining to say the least and you get quite a lot for your 20 euros.  I wouldn't say there is a great deal to do if you have kids, Kardamena looked as though it would have more for kids than Kos Town.  Weather red hot, food lovely (back to fat club for me) and alcohol flowing.  Would definately go back.

Miag G

We're off to Kos on Saturday - can't wait!    We've stayed in Lambi, Psalidi and Tingaki.  My favourite hotel is the Alice Springs Hotel in Lambi where the owners, George & Barbara, are so friendly it's like staying with family!  I prefer Lambi as it's near to the town centre and the night life without being noisy.  During the day it's quite peaceful and the beaches aren't too crowded either.

At night the walk into the Town via the beach road or main road down to Dolphin Sq is really enjoyable. We usually look in the shops on the way or work out where to eat the next night.

The only mildly annoying thing about the town centre is the PRs for the Clubs and / or restaurants but they aren't usually too bad.  I think it's a good idea having most of the Clubs and Bars in one area.  If you don't like that sort of thing you don't need to go there!

It'll be my 7th visit to Kos and I'm already planning next year's trip!

Bob F

just back from kos  14 nights @ the Atlantis Hotel

Sam D

JULIE- Were just back from oasis apartments and its 6euros for a taxi into town. its about a 40min walk (if you dont get lost).

Great, we loved it. Plenty to do, and pretty. Must go to the Pantheon restaurant, just up from dolphin square. would go back definately.

Julie R

Some friends and I  are going on a girly holiday soon and have just booked the Oasis Apartments in Kos Town... We were told that the apartments are in the heart of the town and we are really close to beach and shops etc.,  Just seen a rather different comment about the apartments on this site and am getting worried!  anyone out there got any more encouraging comments?

Gina H

Returned on the 3rd July 2005 from Lenaki Apartments. 10 minutes walk from Kos Town which is lively, friendly, great for shopping and fab restaurants and heaps of culture. Well worth the 10 minute walk, however I was so glad to stay at Lenaki as it is peaceful, clean, friendly, and has every amenity you would need. Some of the apartments in town are very close to the main roads and not suitable for children, the Lenaki is down a very quiet road and there are 2 pools, swings, slide, roundabout kids will love it. For the adults the hospitality from Yiannis and his family is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble.Food is great ( the best greek salad in Kos) Bar closes when last person falls off there stool! I have been to Kos often but was really sad to leave after this holiday, a great place to relax and if you want some nightlife Kos Town is a pleasant 10-15 min walk. At the bottom of the road is a fantastic restaurant called Caravan which I had looked for last year and could not find . I am so pleased I kept on looking the food was great and Hassan was the most genial host nothing was too much trouble for him. I will return to Lenaki in a few months as it was the best holiday I have ever had in Kos. If you get there first please say hello to Steve and Maria who will look after your every need. A fab complex ,small, but so friendly.

Isla M

Great resort. Something for everyone. Heading back for our second stay and counting down the days...see you Saturday!

Colleen S

I have been to the Captains Hotel twice, a few years apart.  Both times the service was excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you.

Very close to everything,

Kos town caters for whatever you fancy, quiet, noisy, shops galore.

I am going back again next year and would return as many times as I can afford in the future.

Fantastic holiday.

Make sure you try the restaurant across from the hotel and go on the Greek Night in the mountains, fantastic.

Lynne L

Horrible.  Constantly being hasseled to go into restaurants/bars, something you don't get in quieter resorts. Way, way, way overpriced on everything - 4 euros for Mythos (2 euros in resorts).  Ridiculous.

Lisa O

Hi Tony

Brilliant website, excellent and useful information.  It will be a big help.  I will let you know how I enjoyed Kos and the Captains Hotel.

i was wondering if any one had been to captains hotel and what they thought about it, it is in Kos Town im thinking about going here next year What kind of things there is to do here? Is there alot of shop that you can go shopping for clothes etc in Kos town?

thanx xx

Sarah W

i returned from Kos on the 17 October, stayed at the Lydia Apartments, what a laugh!! Sakis was very entertaining, hope to see him next year at the Lydia apartments..

John D

Hi, we stayed just outside kos at the blue sea hotel, nice building and fixtures.
The food was AWFUL,poorly cooked and served,no variety, similar menu day after day.limited times to eat etc.

Julie M

We are just back from Psalidi which is 3km, 45 mins walk, 6 euros in a taxi, from Kos town. It suited us we were near enough to the town when we wanted it but our hotel was quiet when we need peace. There is nothing much in Psalidi however if you intended spending all your time there.

Sarah B

Shennanigans was good for Karaoke - Jez you made our holiday!!!

Shirley G

The local beaches are shingle and not very attractive however if you are looking for a small and personable local spot to visit then go the the beach beds at limeni Bar and restauarnt and speak to lillo the owner a lovely man who likes a shot of Ouzo!!! Spag bol is the best on the Island there and the Greek Salads...
As for nightlife, if you are 18 then Bar street in Kos is great as you will be dragged into lively bars on the street however if like me you are 30 then there are plenty of other parts of Kos town to go to! Lovely pretty town.
When it comes to excursions do not go with the reps they will rip you off and give the impression that boats will leave you in turkey so best to go with them - that is rubbish, If you want to go to Turkey for the day the Maria Star is the boat to go with...only 14 Euros, safe friendly while the reps charge 40Euros for the same thing. if you want to to the three Island tour again the Katarina is the family run boat to go with...you will have dancing, pirate bandanas, lunch and a lovely family looking out for you. You get to jump off this old pirate ship in coves etc.
Shopping - go to Turkey for excellent fakes but they are pushy and be careful if you want a Turkish bath we were told it was 5 mins away but infact was in Gumbat 20 mins drive away and was rubbish!!
Now as for the appartments - Olgas Paradise, my god the woman is an ogre that runs it and her daughter not , much better! Pleasant accommodation, good pool, they do some food but expensive - no no no nightlife, bar is rubbish forget drinking wine they never had it and yet when asked if I could bring my own it was not allowed. The rooms rarely get cleaned and asking for fresh towels is a job in itself! Overall fine but they will be out of business soon if they don't sharpen up on customer service!. Good location but a good 25 min walk to Kos, a bit far. Also our flight was at 5.10 am and yet we had to pay another 30 Euros for the room but only till 7pm when she (olga) comes knocking to get you out!. A tight money grabbing family and I would boycott them bigtime!
If youwant to hire a moped, go to Dinos, opposite Limeni, the guy there is really patient and helpful!
Anyway overall just back met some odd folk but a good holiday overall - just don't believe the reps and don't be scared to organise everything yourself!

Have a good trip!

Sarah B

Me and my boyfriend went to Kos town in August we really liked it. Weather was brilliant we never saw a cloud in the sky. Bit of a breeze at night which made it easy to sleep. We took loads of mosquito reppellant stuff and didnt need it in the end never saw any.
The beaches arent that great at Kos Town its worth going to other beaches around the island. Bar Street is good a lot of the bars stay open till 6 or 7 in the morning everyone dances on the bars its a good laugh. We didnt bother going to the clubs as we were told the bars are better. Book your boat trips at the harbour not through your rep as they are much cheaper. Recommend the 3 island cruise that was lovely. We stayed in the Hotel Oscar didnt think much of that, we went out all the time because we didnt really like it there.

We loved Kos. Stayed in Kos Town which was really nice. The harbour was gorgeous, especiallyat night when it was all lit up. Lot's of really nice restaurants. Oasis was one of our favourites. We stayed in Ideal Apartments in Lampi, just outside of Kos Town. It took us about 30 minutes to get to the town. It was a nice walk though down a straight tree lined road and along the sea front. There was a bus which stopped just down the road. We didn't use it, but it seemed regular. The apartments were nice. Basic, but clean. Our room was really big. There was only two of us and we had four single beds! The cleaner came everyday except Sunday. The hotel was family run and they all seemed nice. They had entertainment a few nights - BBQ, quiz and Bingo. We didn't go to any of it, but lots of people did. Lot's of kids arrived on the day that we left and the pool got very busy, but it was ok until then. We got home yesterday and didn't want to leave Kos. We didn't stay much around the hotel in the day. Hired a car for two days, which was very reasonably priced, and travelled the whole island. We hired mountain bikes for one day which was a bargain at two Euros. The beach in Kos Town was ok, but we're aren't ones for lounging in the sun anyway and were off exploring most of the time. I've never been bitten by mosquitos before, but ended up with about 20 bites on my legs during this holiday! I would say that Kos is definitely a place to go for couples. The are two clubs in Kos Town - Heaven & Fashion. Fashion was very Greek. None of the bars or clubs ever seemed very busy. It was nice just to go for a drink and a meal at night, down by the harbour. There was a beach party at Tarzan Beach Bar with fireworks, etc.

Lot's to see and do in Kos - would definitely recommend it.

We have just got back from Kos Town after a fantastic holiday. The weather was beautiful everyday and there is loads to do and see. We stayed at The Denise Apartments in the Psaldi district and are missing it already. It is really friendly, clean, in a great location and best of all Nikos the manager always has Ouzo flowing freely! Would recommend the apartments to anyone... we are hoping to go back one day. Go to The Old Town both day and night and the ruins are definitely worth seeing. A great holiday!

We, myself Coral and Steven, have just returned after the fifth time to the Lydia and as always we were welcomed and remembered. It's a pity that Mary is no longer their, to entertain us verbaly across the pool, however we did visit her and Sakis at their home. What we miss most, now that we are at home, is sitting arround the pool late in the evening having a quite drink with Mike and Lyn. Atleast until the boy's turn up and then it's 'can I have some euro's.

We will be back next year and would recommend the Lydia to all our friends.

Thanks

Massive thank you to everyone at the hotel 'Theateraki' for everything they did for us over the week. Really impressed with the hospitality of all the greek people and loved the fantastic beaches, especially paradise beach's 'bubble beach'. Great food and nightlife as well as loads of culture and history. A briliant holiday!!!

Have just come back from Kos Town, stayed at Olgas Paradise apartments. The setting was lovely, very peaceful and quiet, excellent pool area and nice big room. View from balcony was rubbish (a sort of grassy area which was pitch black at night) and we had some issues with our Manos rep Roxy and Olga herself re the patio doors not locking - the couple next door to us woke up one night and there was a bloke in their room but still no-one would move us or fix our patio door and we had to jam the chairs up against them which still wasn't safe enough for three girls on their own and made the apartment extremely hot! We were there for a week but towels and sheets never got changed. Walking from our apartments into town where Goodys and Bar Street is was more like a 30 min trek than a 10 min strole! Still it was very pretty along the harbour. We didn't have much joy on our first outing to bar street, being grabbed and pulled in every direction and not finding any other british people to speak to put a downer on things. However the bar crawl with the Karda Mingers on Sun night was fantastic and we took full advantage of the free shots! I'd recommend going to Paradise Beach where the bubble beach is as that was very beautiful and hot! and the old town in Kos Town is really nice for people-watching and shopping for belts and bags. Would definiately go back to Kos Town but with my boyfriend as it is more for couples.

Message for Katie Lye. Hello! have just come back from Kos, me and elevn of my friends stayed in denise apartments, had a brilliant time! They were nice and clean in a good area. Make sure you go to the welcome meeting, it's a chore but got some useful tips. Deffinatley go on a boat trip too, but don't organise it with the reps, you can get it way cheaper from the harbour. Please can you do me a favour too? Know it sounds sad and lonely, but when you go out in Kos town, which you obviouslt will, please can you find an irish guy called alan working at the camelot bar and tell him i miss him? and that i know i sound like a loser but give him my email address anyway miss_lady_penelope@hotmail.com THANK YOU!! i honestly do hope that you have a really amazing time, i'm sure you will!!

Rep

I rep here and i love it here the nightlife is really good and the people here are really friendly, since the Euro has come in its not soo cheap anymore, but its definatly worth a visit. Join in on your bar crawls they're really cheap and well worth the money the reps take you to all the really goo dplaces plus get you into heaven included in the trip, (which normally cost 12Euro entry). Best beaches are in Tingaki or MAmari and its bout 10 mins max on a bus thats costs a Euro!!

oh my god, all i can say is wicked holiday, me and 2 other girls stayed in the Smaragdi apartments in Lambi which is about minutes from Kos Town itself, the hotel was great, and the staff were fab!!, the only thing i would say is that they should change the towels alittle bit more often than once a week!!
If you go to the beach which is straight down a tree lined avenue and just off the main road, make sure you visit Pavlos beach, very nice friendly people, the owner of the beach has a speed boat which he does like to take girls on!! i would also say that the nighlife in Kos is just spot on, if anyone goes to Lambi do visit B - 52 and do the little challenge, where if you down 10 shots of their special (called B-52) you get a wicked t-shirt, make sure you visit Heaven and Fashion they are just 2 of the best nightclubs.( Therma you must also go and visit, and its much better late at night, its a place where you can get rid of any aches of pains you have, although there is a slight smell to it!!!!)
DO NOT DO ANY DAYTRIPS BY THE REPS you get ripped off as we found out when we booked a daytrip to Turkey for 43 euros per person and then as we walked passed the shops selling daytrips you could get it for something like 20 euros per person.
The only bad thing about our stay was that we were disappointed that there wasn't many Greeks there, it was more Albanians!!!(rather rude aswell) say hello to Jani the beach boy at Pavlos beach for me anyone that goes (i'm Karen)

my boyfriend and i (we're both 18), just got back yesterday from a week in kos town, it was absolutely brilliant. we stayed in the olgas paradise apartments, and they were great. we expected to be somewhere pretty crap really since we got a really cheap last minute deal, but they were great, big, with bathtubs (rare thing in greece!) and toilets that flushed (!!!!) and sw**ky hairdryers built in to the wall! you get patio doors with a little balcony of your own with tables and chairs. the cleaners came everyday, so the place was pretty clean, even if they didn't do our washing up for us hehe..they provided two bath towels and bed linen too, but the towels were only changed twice during our stay so make sure you take your own too. the barmaid is fab, her name is dina, and she's just great. ask her for her special cocktail :) the pool area is really relaxing, might not be now though once the kids start arriving. the apartments themselves are in a decent location, there are supermarkets and restaurants literally outside your door, as is psalidi beach, which we weren't all that impressed with, mainly cos its gravel and we're used to nice sandy gower beaches. the town centre is 2 km away, it's a nice 20 minute walk, or you can catch a bus (every 15 mins, 85 cents). its easy to get buses to the rest of the island too, we recommend going to therma to the springs, but if you want to go to the other resorts like tingaki or kefalos get a taxi or a moped, cos the buses there are cramped and hot and the central bus station is a bugger to find. or just don't bother cos theres nothing there compared to kos town. we walked into kos town every single night and we still kept discovering new streets full of shops...and they have proper shops like diesel, morgan, body shop and quiksilver too. bar street and fashion club seem to be the places for clubbing but we never actually went, cos the bar in olgas paradise was so damn cheap hehe...oh and last but not least...
tip 1 - if you want to go on the boat to bodrum (turkey), to go shopping in the markets, dont book it through your rep, because they rip you off, we did that and it cost us 43 euros each, everyone else went into town and did it themselves and paid 15 euros (and they went on a faster boat!)
tip 2 - for those girls staying in olgas paradise, there is a really nice restaurant just down the road, gorgeous food, and really cheap, we had 3 courses for 24 euros! its called neo syntrivani, and if you come out the apartments, turn right, then right again onto the main road, its just along there a hundred yards or so. its got a fountain in the middle. make sure you put the mosquito repellant on when you go there though cos they lurk in the vines ;)
ok i think i've written enough now, have a fab time :)

Karl

emma, i started off in kos town 2weeks ago, stayed in the kalypso hotel. one word for ya, dont go there. me and my m8s got thrown out of there for makin too much noise in the 1st 2 nights. our rep transfered us to kardamena, and oh my god, it was f**kin amazin!!! you'll have a good time where ever you go, but i do recommend you go to kardamena.

Has anyone stayed at the Denise apartments in Kos Town? Am going there in August.

Emma M

Hi - Me and 2 g'friends (aged 22-26) are going to Kos Town, staying at Olgas Paradise apartments, on 22nd July 04. Does anyone know what these apartments are like and is it far to go from Kos Town to Kardamena for a night out? Are taxis expensive? Also, where are the best beaches? Thanks

Jeff B

Picturesque, something for everyone, excellent links by road or sea and reasonable prices if you shop around. A good holiday base.
