Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Marianna Studios in early July 2006. We'd read mixed reviews about the place saying there were good and bad blocks and some rooms werent very clean.
This is the 2nd time i have stayed in Tingaki but the 1st time at marrianna.
just spent 2weeks in marianna well kept, clean, tidy, sheets+towels changed regularly.snack bar good value.staff freindly.will be going next year.
Went to Tingaki last year didnt stay here but some friends did and it seemed good so we will be staying there this year! the beach is about a ten minute walk away and lots of bars that play good music, Mascot being the best .
My boyfriend and I are looking to go to Tingaki and stay in the Marianna Apts although we have heard mixed reviews. I understand there are new and old blocks to the apts? Are the old apts just small or are there other problems too? ALSO, what is Tingaki like for nightlife? We're not looking for all night clubbing but we like to go out to bars and restuarants.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at the marianna studios for 2 weeks and weren't that impressed. The room we had was quite small, especially the bathroom, and you had to hold the shower head up and there was no curtain so the whole room gets soaked verytime you shower. Also when we turned the light out to go to sleep we found that one of the hall lights shone directly into faces as we tried to sleep, we even resorted to taping a towel up again the door but this fell down most nights. We told the rep about it but nothing was done. Having said all this the rooms were very clean and there was ample room for clothes and a decent sized desk/mirror/seat to dry hair/do make up etc. The terrace is also a nice size and actually quite private. So after a couple of nights we got used to the room and really only used it to change and sleep in. The pool itself is lovely but the area around it is very cramped plus the pool is locked up at 7pm and is surrounded by white bars which dont look very attractive. However, one of the best things about these studios are that they are in such a perfect location, they are 10 mins from the beach, 30 seconds from the nearest restaurant and 2 mins from the supermarket. Overall, if we do manage to return next year i dont think we would go back to these studios but if there was nothing else available I would be quite happy to.
I would definately recommend the Marianna Studios to absoutely anyone! The are spotlessly clean and very spacious. Only downfall to them was the lack of air conditioning. It got very hot in the nights and there was only so much cool air a small fan could give off. The pool is quite large and the snack bar provides some lovely food. It is about a 10 minute walk from the beach, which takes no time at all after a few drinks in the evening, but once your hot and tired after the beach all day it seems rather long! The owners are very friendly and helpful and are always on hand. There was one other thing that let the apartments down a bit, the space around the pool. It did not appear to have enought room around the edges to fit all the sunbeds on. It did not bother us so much tho as we preferred the beach as it tended to have a more frequent breeze.
Stayed at the marianna first 2 weeks of august and really enjoyed our holiday, the family that run the apartments are very helpful and we found very friendly.Shower rooms bit small but this is greece and your not in them long .Would recommend
We have just got back from Tingaki and we found the resort lovely and very laid back. We found many Tavernas offering excellent and affordable food. Previous reviews claimed beach to be windy this was something we did not experience. We stayed at the Marianna but unfortunately for us our room looked over the busy main road and this was a problem with the noise. At night when you only needed to close screen we had to close balcony door which made the room unbearable. We hired a fan for 10 euros but even this was on its last legs and did very little. The rep made light of the fact that there are no shower curtians or hooks for shower head but when bathroom resembles a lake not quite so funny. If they know these are a problem they should deal with them. Owners are not particulatrly friendly just civil. I shall be returning to Tingaki next year but not to the marianna Apartments.
Just returned from Marianna studios, and on balance we can't say it was a bad place. We arrived at 5.30 a.m. and our hearts sunk when we saw the size of the appartments. I would say they would be ok for two people but are a real struggle for three. The actual size as shown on their own plans are 9m by 3.3m, and the bathroom which is an experience in itself even by Greek standards is no more than 2m by 2m, and no matter how careful you are there is no way to avoid flooding the place with even the shortest rinse down. Nice balcony area to relax at night time, but the mosquitos tended to be a bit brutal to everyone staying there we noticed, apparently it's a bad year for them . You can always find a bed round the pool at any time and there is a relaxed atmosphere, and good food service from the poolside bar, although the drinks are a bit pricey, Strongbow 4euro a bottle, coke 2euro etc. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help, and the bar on the front stays open till 2 a.m. A late checkout can be bought for 20 euro, but get them early as there aren't many to be had.Overall a fair place to stay but wouldn't go out of our way to go there again.
I am going to stay at the Marianna apartments in August and was wondering whether there was a little freezer compartment in the fridge of the apartments?
Great Appartments ! We stayed on the bottom floor and the appartments rooms were really cool and not to hot at night
hi when me and 13 other family members stayed at the Marianna studios check ouy was mid day but if they have appartments free ask to pay for a extra few hors normally about 5pm if no luck they have showers you can use which are private so you can stiil soak up the sun on your last day then shower.
we are going to the marianna studios on the 2nd week of june how hot is it then. are the rooms up to the standard everybody has written about cant wait until we get to kos
Anyone know what time checkout is from here, we have an early morning return flight, Cheers.
Hi, we are staying here in July this year and are not flying home until 4.a.m., and wondered what time you have to check out. If anyone knows that would be great, Cheers.
Hi everyone, I have just got back from Tingaki and I thought it was great! I stayed at the Marianna Studios and I enjoyed my stay. The Studios are very basic but spacious. The swimming pool is excellent, along with the snack bar. The best bars in Tingaki are the Becks Bar and Mascot Bar both give loads of free shots of Ouzo! I put my Rangers shirt up on the wall in the Becks Bar so please dont pull it down! LOL. There was this beautiful girl who stayed at the Marianna the sametime as me! Please get in touch! I think your name was Olivia. I was there from 11th till 18th of August 2004.(Bushell85@hotmail.com)
We stayed at the Marianna Studios from the 7th July til the 22nd. I have to admit I was so shocked about how lovely they really were. The maid comes every day apart from Sunday, which is the main reason they are soooo clean! The rooms are of a decent size with a large balcony. The staff are very helpful and the reception stays open until 1am. The snack bar had a large selection of food and great prices, i had a special sandwich and chips every day!! The pool is really nice! I was up at 9am every morning swimming laps, it was heaven! All the fuss about the road noise, their is hardly any, its the cockeril you want to listen out for! LOL! Overall this place is fantastic for all.
13 of us stayed at the Marianna Studios they were 1st class the cleaners do a fantastic job they are up at the crack of dawn cleaning the pool area and sun loungers. The appartments are cleaned to a very high standard. The snack area is very nice good menu with good prices.
Staff other than the cleaners could do with being a bit more cheerfull and make more of a effort to speak. The Marianna Studios are in a ideal place to explore a gorgeous island.
We came back from Tingaki yesterday and stayed at the Marianna. I have to say that the apartments are fantastic, not only are they massive they are very clean. The owners are very nice particularly Maria who speaks excellant English and was always on hand if we had any queries. The pool is a decent size and is definately a sun-trap I spent most of my time at the beach because there was more of a breeze. The beach is a 10 minute walk and the supermarket (Konstantinos) is two minutes away. If your are staying here you will have a fantastic holiday. ENJOY!!!
Hi,
Me and my boyfriend are staying at the Marianna Studios from the 7th July. We are self catering. Can people please tell me exactly what I can find in the room, whether i can hire a safety deposit box, if theres a tv, iron, hair dryer etc!! Regards Ellie
Well after reading the comments about the noise from the road, I was a bit worried about staying here but there is absolutely nothing to worry about,it wasnt an issue, the apartments were clean and just what I wanted and liked the location as it was just far enough to walk back from the night life but not close enough for the noise, I would recommend thses apartments highly.
Swimming pool was nice too
hardly any noise from road. It is a very peaceful place to stay. Night flights are a bit of a pain, but a small price to pay for an excellent holiday on a beautiful island.
Stayed here between May 5th & 20th. The people who run it are friendly and efficent. The location is conveniant for all facilties, yet further enough away for a peaceful holiday.
We have just got back from our last minute deal and this is where we ended up. The place is absolutely fantastic and certainly one of the best places to stay in Tingaki for location, friendliness and cleanliness standards. The pool is lovely and is an ideal suntrap (shaded areas as well) and is the better alternative to the beach which can get rather windy. We can't wait to come back again next year!
abos**tley fantastic peope who run it poncho is great and so is maria and her sister thanks for the free grub on our last day!!!we hope to be there next year if all goes to plan.met really nice people if anyone remebers us(greg and louise the only scottish people between 2-15th july)please get in contact!!! would love to here from you.
Four of us (adults)+ a 6 year old stayed at these studios in July 2003.Are they suitable for young children...Yes.There is a small circular pool as well as the main pool.If other children are there they soon make friends. The apartments and the pool area are kept very clean. The old chap (Dad) keeps an eye on things and asks his daugthers to say something if a child may have a problem...eg..unable to swim ,but on lilo in the deep end of the pool. The daughters speak very good English and will help with any problems.I would recommend staying at this place to anyone.Quite a number of my family have stayed there and would do so again.
i am going to the marianna studios with my 15 yr old daughter and her friend, can anyone tell me what facilities there are for them? thanks
The Postal address of the Marianna Apartments in Tigaki.
Im going there in September and I just cant wait
Apartments fairly large and good for age range 6 upwards. Would not recommend for younger children.Nice pool area and friendly staff. Apartments are in a good location, at the top of the main street, about 5 minutes walk from resort centre and beach. Only downside is the noise from the road, which is constant but inparticular at night. Also balconies are very close together, so if you neighbours fancy a bit of a party on their balcony, don't plan on getting to sleep! If you can get a room at the back of the complex, away from the road, so much the better
I am going to the Marianne apartments with my partener and my daughter 8, next year. I would like to know if these apartments are suitable for her age group. Thanks
I stayed in the Marianna Studios for the second time in May. The rooms are basic, but include a fridge, electric hob and kettle.
The Marianna Studios are a 10ish minute walk from the beach, with a supermarket 2 minutes the other way.
If you visit Tingali, stay here!
Can anyone tell me if the rooms are roomy and light or just the standard sort. Also will we need a travel kettle
my wife and i are going to the marianna studios in tingaki in may and would be gratefull for any information at all eg any building work, best places to visit are the apartments very noisy or any other problems we will be grateful for any help thanks
