Hi In August we will be Mayflower and Kos first timers, I hear Sevi Cars are agood company to hire from. Can anyone tell me how much for a small car for Two weeks and do I need to pay cash or can I use plastic?
Does anyonehave an e-mail address/ telephone/fax no. of the mayflower apartments in Tingaki, Kos please?
Take a look in the new 2006 Thompson brochure for Mayflower. Prices appear to be comparable to this year. As far as I can tell the upgrades for next year will be oven, toaster and air-conditioning.
See you all next year!
Just enjoyed our second stay at the Mayflower this year. Luckily we booked privately with Christos. Airtours in spite, closed them down early because Mayflower is moving to the Thompson brochure next year. Anyone who was supposed to be staying here in October were apparently told that the owners closed early but that was not the truth. The owners have lost thousands of euro due to Airtours and I for one will never use Scare-tours again! We even had a visit from a family who were moved to Helios and came to look at the Mayflower. They were bitterly disappointed at being moved and were not at all impressed with the Helios. I would like to wish Costos, Elliah, Zoe and Christos every success with Thompson next season. Thanks for a wonderful holiday. We will be back! XXXX
Hi there folks, just a quick word to say hello. hope this message finds you all in good health as we are all pretty much ok at this end. sorry we did not get to see you all this year but look out for us in 2005 (dont know about the kids though!) Zara i hope you are behaving yourself and looking after that rebel brother of yours (rebel without a clue?) ha ha ha. anyway must get on as i am supposed to be at work you may contact us at (please do) animal113@drugsmakemecool.com. PS say hi to everyone out there we know and if you see Iain and Gail from the tat2 shop @ Kardemena can you ask them to get in touch please? Bye for now.
What can I say? Waw! I miss the place so much already! Tigaki is a wonderful place, designed mainly for tourists - but having said that, it's not as tacky as Kardamena on the other side of the island. It was perfect for what we wanted - a quiet, relaxing holiday with the option of having a few wild nights! As it was nearing the end of the season, you could tell that people were tired, and that things were winding down. But the 3 of us Welsh girls managed to get the place going - especially Enzzo's down in the town!! The beach was wonderful and clean, and the sea is perfectly clear. There are restaurants lining the beach, with wonderful food and very friendly staff. Everything you need is within walking distance. Although we stayed in the self catering Mayflower Apts, we did like going out to eat as well, as there was so much on offer in Tigaki. Saggitarius is delicious - and George was a star! The Meditarranean reastaurant was top class as well. We made many friends during the week - many of whom I hope to see again. The staff in the Mayflower will become your best friends by the end of the holiday, and it was very hard to say good bye. Xpn6tos ['Christos'] will become a friend for life, he is such a warm and interesting person. He took a group of us up the mountain to see the spectacular views over Kos, go if you get the chance, it is definately worth while. The staff and residents alike were very impressed with our Welsh singing and Clog dancing until the early hours of the morning! We had a fantastic time, and I can't wait to go back. Very highly recommended. And thank you x
Just returned from our 5th holiday on Kos all spent at the Mayflower. The accomodation is excellent , spacious, clean and comfortable and well sited being just 15 minute walk from the main street in Tingaki.
Hristio ,Elia and family are wonderful hosts who make you feel so welcome. You really are regarded as friends not customers.
Tingaki has ebnough restraunts to eat at different places each evening although the quality of food does vary from place to place. The Meni and Meditarraine probably being our favourites this year.
For those folks who are plannimng to return to Mayflower as Hristo to take you to the top of mountain. Zia and keep going for about an hour and half. The views from the top are spectacular being able to see the whole coasline of the island. It really is inspirational.
Will we return - without a doubt.

Please could somebodu give me the web address for the mayflower hotel and apartments if they have one thanks alot
We arrived back from Kos a couple of days ago. Like a lot of people we felt as if we were being dropped off in the middle of nowhere because we arrived at night but when we woke up it was one of the most amazing places i've ever been on holiday. The staff were great (especially Christos) and the people were really friendly. I would advise anyone who was going to try the barbeque on a wednesday night at the hotel. Its worth it. The pool is great and it cools you down after sitting in the heat. Really great place with a good atmosphere. Not to noisy and if you were planning trips i would use theokritos travel. Very good and they look after you. Would go back to kos in a minute. Thanks for a lovely holiday everyone.
please could someone tell me if i take my own fan would i be able to us it . i dont want to hire 1 i
To Julie- Yes, Mayflower isn't far from Ilios- and its a lovely place- Highly recommend! Address is Mayflower.gr.
Fantastic hotel, fantastic people, fantastic holiday! Thanks to Christos and family for all your hospitality. Barbeque night and Greek night in Zia are compulsory- Best nights! And what an atmosphere when Greece won the Semis! Well done for winning the Finals- We knew you'd do it!

went to tingaki last year (went to illios hotel)is the mayflower any where near illios plus do you know the website for mayflower hotel if you do please send us it as we would like to view the hotel thanks !!!
Hi, I'm staying at the Mayflower on the 26th of this month, and it doesn't mention anything about safety deposit boxes. Could someone please let me know whether they are available? Its my first time abroad, don't want to end up losing my money! Thanks, Emily
What a wonderful place. Friendly does not discribe the welcome you get at the Mayflower. My family had a great time relaxing around the spacious pool. The snack bar serves great food too> The location is quiet and the views breathtaking. We will definately be back and will reccomend it very highly. A big thank you to Christof and his family. This is what holidays are all about!!!
The Mayflower Apartments are being upgraded for the 2005 season and will be bookable through Thompson holidays. An oven and toaster are on the list of additions. There are some apartments available directly through Christos. All apartments are of a good standard, very clean and spacious so any improvements will make them excellent.
If you need more info leave a message and we will try to help.
We returned from Mayflower apartments, Tingaki this morning (4.6.04). My wife, 2 children and I loved the holiday so much we are returning again this October for 2 weeks. Ellia, Christos and all the other staff at Mayflower are absolutely wonderful! We were made so welcome from the time we arrived we felt like we had been there forever.
The children lived in the fantastic pool and say it was their best holiday ever.
Resturants in the town were all quite average with good, bad and indifferent meals at most of them, depending on what you ordered. After some trial and error we found The Meni best for quality. Saggitarius was by far the worst in our experience with 2 out of 4 meals un-edible and no reaction from the staff on complaining. Tingaki grill was OK but some of the food was served cold. The resturant to the left of the fountain was also quite good. Most meals for 2 adults, 2 children with starters and drinks cost around 50 euro.
Our recommendation - All the snacks served at The Mayflower were excellent especially the Wednesday evening BBQ, great value for money!
We only did two excursions booked via Tingaki Express. The 3 island cruise we thoroughly enjoyed and will do again. The visit to Zia, the sunset village, well worth spaending a few hours. The first resturant on the left entering the village of Zia was quite poor, try a different one.
This was our first visit to Kos but definately not our last. We agree with Martin and Janice, a Lotto win would buy you paradise here for the rest of your days!
In response to the needs helps previously
1) The website address for the mayflower is www.mayflower.gr and they have stared letting out rooms privately. I think you'd have to email for full details & prices there should be alink on the website.
2)Take the suncream, a greek phrase book and your driving license. The entire island is 30Km by 8km and you can drive from Kos to Kardamena in 40 mins. There is a new water park on the island which anybody at reception should be able to tell you about and give you directions to.
Read my earlier postings for further details
We rented a car from Tingaki Express: Kia Shuma for 3 days 75Euros and that allowed to explore the island at leisure including both of the castle aswell as kos town and other tourist areas. It also meant we could drive into Kos Town one evning for a chinese as Tigaki doesn't have one. It was very nice ~ near the dolphin fountain on the harbour.
Eating out was cheap enough even though we frequented what looks to be one of the dearest restaurants in Tigaki. Its called The Tigaki Restaurant and is near the kiosk on the beach 50Euros got us 2 childrens meals with ice cream, 2 cokes, 4 ½Ltrs Amstels, garlic bread,Fillet Steak & jacket Potato, Pork Souvlaki, A banana split and a portion of baklava & Ice cream So it's not really that expensive and the service is excellent.
We also went to the Sagitarrius a few times and the service there was good plus the meals for children are well priced (they also swapped the chips on the kids meals for pasta for them !).
For breakfast we found the best place to be the New Rosini.
I also recommend a trip across the water to Turkey. Whilst we were there Theokratis travel were charging 25 euros per adult with kids under 5 free. Also for 5 Euros they will take you to Zia by coach for a couple of hours so you can gift shop and admire the scenery again well worth it.
Mountain Bike hire was 1 Euro a day or 5Euros for the week.
Cigarettes from Constantins supermarket (The big one near the apartments) Royals 24.50 Euros for 200. 12.50Euros in turkey but you can only bring back 200 each.
Can you make direct bookings with the Mayflower?
I remember visiting the hotel a couple of years ago and thinking I would like to stay there at some point.
Choose this for a fantastic holiday. We have been twice and plan to go again next year. Would recomend to all. Plenty to see and do, even with 1 teenager and a 9 year old!!! The management could not be better, so friendly and warm. Hire a car (around 80 euros for 3 days), its worth every cent!! The cars are clean and in very good condition if not a lot of power. It can get a little windy, however, it does dry your towels out fast!! Lots of places to eat, including the Mayflower, good choice for kids on the menu. If we won the lottery, we would go there to live. FANTASTIC!!!! Try to learn a little greek, it works wonders and the locals are so impressed. Mosquitoes can be a bit of a problem, go to the supermarket (10mins walk)and get some repellant. We found it was a good idea to spray the room as we were going out for the evening, works wonders. We can recommend the BBQ at the Mayflower, fantastic value. The pool is so clean, no problems with the room, staff or management. GO FOR IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!
hey this place was the best christos was really cool we went as a big family with cousins side and my side i want to go again but im not allowed the pool was really great and the tours that you could go on were great
A brilliant holiday and a must do. Hotel... fab, clean and vey friendly. Location... close to many friendly and tasty resturants and not forgetting the sandy beach. Weekly bbq and VERY VERY friendly owners. You have not experienced kos without experiencing The Mayflower. Id go back again and again.....
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Tatsis Family from Mayflower Tingaki.
love and hugs from switzerland

2nd time at the mayflower hotel and we were greeted like long lost friends not only by the family who run the hotel byt also by the local waiters who recognised us!! A truly lovely holiday location, clean, safe and hot. Hire a car and do your own thing, the hotel staff will advise you, we visited some lovely places in particular the hot springs, only a 15-20 min drive away.

I have been home about 4 hours but i had to come on here to tell everyone about this great place. We arrived in the early hours and was a bit worried about the location but as it was our third time back in a year it and a 10 -15 min walk into town was quite nice in the eveings. The apartments and resort altogether were the best i have ever been to. The rooms are large and very clean. Everybody was very friendly. I have memories that i will never forget from this place. Christos you were a star in your own special way i never forget you sneaking aroung with your camera!!!! If anybody goes there soon tell him Emma and Vicky say hi!!!!!
You will be greeted by Hristos, (christos) We have had two very enjoyable holidays here and have booked again for next year. Any restaurnats in the main street are recommendable, however if you go for a chinese which is situated half way down the road on the right remember and take your own knife and fork, as they charge you for use of condiments! The meals and bar area at the mayflower are good, and the bar remains open untill your full!! BBQ nights on a tuesday are good! Don't take the reps advice about trips, shop around for better bargains! When is it that you go to the Mayflower? Say hi to Christos, and have a great time.
i have just booked a holiday here and would like to knoe the location of the nearest eating places and ease of access to the hotel
