Castle Bar

The Castle Bar is the ultimate place to be in Kardamena for atmosphere and friendship, i took my kids this year just to example what a real holiday is all about, my daughter has already said she will be working out there in 2 years behind the bar,as the main man GEORGE had her working behind the bar nearlly every night of our holiday and my son was in seventh heaven as he could play and beat everyone on the ps2. i am going back today just to see all our friends without my kids, i hate being away from the castle bar especially having to be back in this country.

castle bar is the best bar in kardamena without a doubt!!!! thanks 2 our lovely dad and the people in castle bar, we had the best holiday ever!!!! hope 2 see u all again next year, and people dont 4get i'll be workin out there in a few years time so dont foget to come and see me!!! george is the best barman i have ever met!! bessie is the sweetest barmaid ever, and little chris is well cushty!!

my dad took my brother and me to kos 2 weeks ago. he had told us about the castle bar being good and how the people in it were brilliant but i did think he was just exaggerating. the truth is, he was not!!! me and my brother loved the holiday, especially as it was just us 3. our night life would not have been as fun as it was for ALL OF US!!! without the help of the people at castle bar and , of course george!!!

We were advised to go see George by some friends of ours (Michael and Judith) who had been to Kardamena a couple of weeks before we were due to go. So, in our second week there we finally found the The Castle Bar. George is an absolute genius behind the bar (you must try his Long Island Iced Tea, fabulous!)

Everyone we met there were really friendly, including; Bessie, Christos, Capt Mikalis and of course Dr George. If you're going to Kardamena, you must pop in to The Castle Bar, if you have trouble finding it, ask a taxi driver.

Castle Bar is the BEST place to start a night out!! George is the funniest bloke in the world! He came round with a huge bottle of peach schnapps and poured it into our mouths! He does triples for literally nothing and puts sparklers in every cocktail! All 11 of us girlies loved it there!! :) The music is good too! The blokes aren't too bad either!! ;) We're gutted to be back in the UK but will definitely go back to this bar again next year! Have fun! x x

hey everyone, georges bar is well the best, always a good place to start and end the night, goerge looks after everyone and even let me work one night, so good, and the drinks are good value and the fun i had making my own drinks behind that bar, i can guarantee if we go back (all 12 of us) we will defo be visiting there. I left a message on here about a year ago which has since disappeared, but I shall say roughly the same thing having visited George and Bess for the 2nd time now.... I highly recommend the Castle Bar to anybody going to Kardamena. George still had our hat up in the bar we bought him 2 years ago, and I had another go behind the bar (albeit very badly, and I was shown up by 10 yr old Victoria!) i was very happy to see the photos of their beautiful baby Chris, and that they still have a video on their computer of my friends and I dancing in the bar in 2002 (the shame!) For anyone who wants a really memorable holiday and friendly atmosphere you have to visit the castle bar!

We go every year without fail may and sept george and Bessie makes everyone welcome. George is a very crazy man with straw hat that never lets you go home, he has the best lock inns weve ever had. And Bessie is like a pot doll shes so nice. You even get to meet Georges dad.( HES SOO CUTE) YAMASS!! LOVE Nat And Ant SEE YOU SOON EVERYONE. P.S stay away from the MATAXA !!!

good bar this one, george is a legend!! cheap drinks - free shots - friendly staff - and if george likes ya he might even let you try on his huge glasses!!! (you would have had to be there)

we come back on the 8 th of july we went in every night we enjoyed it they looked after us he gave me a metaxa bottle and he called us magas i hope we go again george and bess are the best from paul and sam YASUE

George and Bessie are the nicest couple you could ever meet. A truly family run business, with Christos the father cleaning the glasses and helping behind the bar.
Met them in 2003, been back 3 times since.
Don't walk past, make sure you go in. They make it such a memorable holiday for you.
Swapped phone numbers and when George has his hat on (anyone who has been, will understand this), we usually get a phone call in the middle of the night saying "Yammas".
You will make friends for life with this couple.
Only problem is that no body leaves the bar until George says so (usually to watch the sunrise at 6.20am).
Look forward to seeing you in June again.

such a awsome place to spent your evenings the main reason me and my fiancce come back here year after year is cause the way the owners make you feel relaxed and on a high the constant free drinks and the charcter of the barman hes so funny he has a thing about hats and makes everyone try them on and act like idiots but thats the fun his names george so if you visit kardamena the castle bar is the place to spent some eventful nights ecspeially if your a couple or even have kids as there is a playstation for the kids see ya june 3rd 2004......

well lets face it if your a couple and want to have a good fun long night then this is your bar the barmen is a wicked person who wont see you bored and always make sure you got his free shots there the best. Me and my fiance have been going there for three years and we have tried most bars in kardamena and 2003 we spent every night in the castle bar oppisite cocktails and dreams and its the only bar you can get guarnted entetainment,free shots and the only bar in kardamena were you can stay behind and have a private party till seven in the morning so look out for lara and shane june 2004

Have been frequenting the Castle Bar (or George and Bessie's) for the past three years, even when not staying in Kardamena. Gearge is an excellent entertainer and host with a never emptying bottle of Mettaxa on hand. This is an ideal place to visit to chill out and caters for all ages. As some of the other comments point out, George has a thing for hats, in particular his multi coloured trilby which is donned every night at 10pm sharp.
If you are calling in, please say "yasoo" to George, his lovely wife Bess, his Dad Chris and if he's around baby Chris (the barman in training!)

This is an amazin bar, by far the best in Kardamena. George is an absolutely STAR! The bar has a brilliant atmosphere and George makes the best cocktails and fish bowls. If you ever go to Kos you must visit George at Castle Bar! Love You George.

I went to Kos last yr, and i have to completely disagree with the other comment here- Castle Bar (which we renamed George's Bar) was fabulous... George and his wife, Bessie r the most wonderful people- george made our evenings so much fun- he gave us so much free alcohol, his fishbowls were the best, he let me have a go behind the bar, we played (drunken) darts, met loadsa fab people and we did loadsa karaoke and dancing cos the music was brilliant. go 2 this bar before u go clubbing cos it's gr8!!! by the way, look 4 the signed cowboy hat behind his bar- that was a present from me and my friends! he should have a pic of us too! i love George!!!

Located near Cocktails and Dreams this is a fairly busy little bar. The owner George is a real character with a thing about hats.
Not a place to spend a whole evening but worth dropping in for the odd drink.
Play-station available to keep kids busy while Mum and Dad have a couple of sherberts!
