First went to Kardamena on a gielie holiday in 1992 and loved it.
Returned in 2003 for 1 week, loved it that much, went back for another week 8 weeks after that.
Just booked up again and look forward to another fortnight there this June.
Lovely people, good food, excellent nightlife. Sun, sea and sand, what more could you ask for!!!
Apartments were the worst I have ever stayed in. Looks like a run down building, views of brick walls. Next to church, so bells are ringing all the time.
Don't stay there!!!
Kardamena is excellent though, make sure you stay at Phillipos Apartments and drink at the Brewer's Droop.
Located at the end of the resort before Banana Beach.
10 minutes walk into centre at a leisurely stroll. Stop and have a drink at the Brewers Droop with Kostas and Andy (who are fab).
Philippos is great, so friendly and helpful. Apartments are cleaned daily and sheets also changed every couple of days. Nothing is a bother for him and his staff.
Stayed there three times now and would recommend them to everyone.
Pool is great and no charge for the sun beds.
George and Bessie are the nicest couple you could ever meet. A truly family run business, with Christos the father cleaning the glasses and helping behind the bar.
Met them in 2003, been back 3 times since.
Don't walk past, make sure you go in. They make it such a memorable holiday for you.
Swapped phone numbers and when George has his hat on (anyone who has been, will understand this), we usually get a phone call in the middle of the night saying "Yammas".
You will make friends for life with this couple.
Only problem is that no body leaves the bar until George says so (usually to watch the sunrise at 6.20am).
Look forward to seeing you in June again.
Jayne and Brian Atkinson x
You must try the greek dishes at this restaurant. They are fab!!
The pasta and prawn cocktails are out of this world.
Be sure only to order a starter if you are really starving, as the main courses are huge.
