Tour Operators on Kos

no delays which was good-departure from newcastle was ok took jus over 3hours!cabin crew friendly, once arrived in kos airport greeted by rep and directed to bus,

Flyin home was awful, stuck in cues for over 1 hour and half outside the airport, make sure you bring water as it gets quite hot at night.kos airport is more like a cattle market,Danny the rep actually abandoned our bus before us even getting to the airport we did not see him again once he put us on the bus out side our apartments!!

24 HOUR EMERGENCY HELP-LINE-what rubbish!!was really disappointed with a rep called heather,as i had an accident in my apartment she did get a doctor sent out to me. But she told the doctor to ring back once he was finished but there was no one answering.  No-One form My Travel not even my REP Danny came to see if i was still alive for god sake-DISAPPOINTED would be an understatement of the Rep service given to us.

MYTRAVEL  /  AIRTOURS  /  ASPRO

I have just returned from Kos after having a fantastic holiday with Aiortours, and I also have to CONGRATULATE  MyTravel  /  Airtours  /  Aspro Holidays,           as they have reversed their decision and they have let me book a single room at the Captains Hotel in Kos Town  -  see my original comments below, thank you once again.

The only one gripe I have with AIRTOURS is that they have stopped taking bookings for single holiday makers even though we pay a supplement. I have travelled with Airtours for over 10 years and stayed at THE CAPTAINS HOTEL and I am very upset about their decision as are many other LOYAL customers which I know, if they are not careful they will be losing a few more VERY LOYAL customers. If they read this and decide to reverse their decision they can contact me on the following:

We have just got back from a brilliant 2 weeks holiday. We travelled with My Travel and couldn't fault them no delays going (considering it was the day of the security alerts we still managed to get off on time) or no delays on the return flight. The staff on board were very friendly and the pilots very imformative.

We stopped at the Ilios hotel we didn't see the Rep as we do our own thing and don't go on the tours but we knew when he was about (James) and on the coach on the way to the airport the information he gave was good.

I couldn't fault them.

We were the two brunettes if you possibly remember, but we were going to Tingaki?? One of you in particular, soz for not speaking to you on the way back and forgetting to give you something lol, very very tired and not in a good mood on the way back! Anyway if you get this, gimme a shout, lauren x x x

mytravel airways / airtours holidays

i must have been very lucky as i have travelled with mytravel many times to both kos and the canary islands and i have always found them to be very good.

i have just returned from kos and both the outward flight and the return flight were very good and on time, in fact the return flight landed 30 minutes early. on the outward flight we had one of the aircraft which had all leather seats and they were very comfortable. i found all the cabin crew to be both hard working and helpful. i would like to say a special thank you to the head cabin sup**visor ( lee ) on the return flight from kos on the 20th of june as he was very good.

i stayed at  the captains hotel in kos town and i must say that craig the rep was also a credit to airtours. as i have been to kos many times i did not use his services to book any trips as i know the ropes but i did use him for other queries and i found him to be both pleasant and helpful.

the only one gripe i have with airtours is that they have stopped taking bookings for single holiday makers even though we pay a supplement. i have travelled with airtours for over 10 years and stayed at the captains hotel and i am very upset about their decision as are many other loyal customers which i know, if they are not careful they will be losing a few more very loyal customers. if they read this and decide to reverse their decision they can contact me on the following:

I have never gone with such a useless tour operator, firstly a 5 hour delay at Manchester Airport to Kos, the informaton desk didn't know what was going on all we got out of them was they didn't know where the "missing" plane had gone.. then after getting a £3.00 voucher out of them we flew to Kos with a different airline.

Coming back to the U.K. we had a 6 hour delay and the transfer rep just seem to laugh when he told us that they was a delay of about 5 hours.. I will never ever go with Airtours again...

We had our October holiday spoiled because Airtours closed the Mayflower Hotel early. Thank goodness Mayflower will be flying the Thompson flag next year! Good riddens to Scare-Tours!

Sue H  (20 August 2004)

The holiday in the Irina Beach Hotel in Tingaki with our rep Sarah was really wonderful however it all went wrong on the trip home. The flight on Saturday 14th August to Gatwick was delayed because of fog (Kos Airport is the only Greek island with no fog lights!). The flight was diverted to Rhodes where the pilot ran out of flight time before the fog had cleared. We had to go to another hotel overnight. The next day we arrived back at the airport, at 3pm the flight landed. It then sat there, nothing happen our flight was called to gate but we weren't allowed on the buses. The reps had disappered, they had all deserted us thinking the flight was on it's why back to Gatwick. We sat there for 5 hours with no reps, they didn't know we were there! eventually someone on their mobile phone managed to contact a rep and they all reappeared together at about 7pm. We had been given no food since breakfast! The plane had gone tech and a part had to be flown from Gatwick to repair it. the reps then arranged for us all to stay in another hotel for another night. We finally got home at 2pm on Monday afternoon. I can never forgive Airtours for deserting us on Saturday afternoon for 5 hours. Sobeware 200 passengers are now sueing Airtours.

AIRTOUURS

I stayed at The Captains Hotel in Kos Town and it was very good.

In general I have always found Airtours and MyTravel very good, and their delays do not seem any longer than the other Tour Operators.

On the plus side I would advise everyone to attend the welcome meeting which is usually held by one of the representatives as they inform you about the Health and Safety aspects of your holiday with a few useful do's and don'ts.

They also tell you about the various day and night excursions which they organise in the resort.

However, I would suggest that you take the information away and don't jump in with both feet and book all of the excursions. It is better to check the prices locally first as you save a lot of money by cutting out the middleman.

John R  (18 June 2004)

On the outward flight - no movie. Thats important when you are sitting for more than 4 hours. Transfer to apartment ok but the information from the rep and welcoming meeting (distinct absence of any refreshment)was not worht the wait. She was ill informed. Only asked two questions - is Turkey in the EEC yet and what was last nights score in Euro 2004 - she could not answer either. Then on the return home the courier and coach turned up 20 minutes late having been waiting outside the wrong hotel. Obviously a lot of training issues to be addressed - but do they care?

Shelley   (21 May 2004)

Airtours left everybody on our flight sat at the hotel (The Mayflower ) from 12 midnight till 3am our flight was at 3.45am. When we finally reached a rep on the phone and he got back to us he said they'd FORGOTTEN us!!!! They ended up paying for Taxis for us all to the airport ~ we managed to check in the bags, be taken to the front of passport control and security, get through and into the departure lounge just in time for the buses ferrying us to the aircraft.

NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEM AT ALL! Plus Stefan the rep in resort seemed to have been placed in tigaki as it's quiet and they weren't expecting any trouble, he's kind of a bumbling idiot type of rep with a basic sense of humor and no answers to your questions apart from "I've only been here 3 days"

Stace   (03 January 2004)

probz never gonna go wiv these again!!!!!!!!!!!!
we stayed at the irina beach apts, it was ok but the rep was never there, by the end ov the hol we had seen her a total i once (at the welcome meeting)
the flight out there was good but the flight back was shocking our 4hr flight turned into a 6hr flight coz we had 2 stop off at glasgow because they'd put the 2 flights tpgether but told no one about it, so we were totally unaware until we'd asked the cabin crew. the transfer was exellcent only bout 30 mins the accommodation was ok 2. the ppl were friendly enuf
value 4 money now thts a joke n a half dnt go wiv reps 4 excursions its a total scam. try one ov the trip places on the streets in towns there good value i recommend theokritos travel in tingaki.

AIRTOURS
I have been to Kos 4 times this year with Airtours, staying at The Captains Hotel in Kos Town.
The Flight was very good from Birmingham, it leaves a little late at 17.10.Hrs, but I think that it departs 2 hours earlier next year which will be great on the return journey.
I did not use the transfers but there is not a space to say so so I put in good, the CAPTAINS hotel was excellant for it's rating, very clean and it has a 24.hour reception and bar.
HAYLEY was the Rep and she is a very pleasant and efficient young lady and spends time helping guests to get the most from their holiday. I have already booked 2 holidays with AIRTOURS for next year, very good value.

It was the first time I had been to kos. staying in kos town. Travelling with friends who ahd been before and I had a really good time thanks to our air tours rep she was the best. Her name was Hayley, she was friendly in an honest way not just because it was her job and the reps nights were great. she sorted out any probs we had and was so calm and professional. the flight over was a bit dodgy as one of my mates had a broken seat. the transfer was fine, the hotel had a bit to be desired, but all in all i think it was actaully this Rep. from airtours that saved the vacation... so cheers... its not one to forget!

Vicky G  (12 September 2003)

I've got to say this is the secong hoilday that we have booked with airtours and it was a vast improvement from the 1st. Mark you were excellent not only did we see you more than once you gave us all the imformation we needed. Your a star!!!!!!!!! (Hope you enjoyed your time with your family when they came over). See you next year. What a great apartment we got!!! (Mayflower)

Linda C  (18 July 2003)

Airtours were OK to go with, however we found out we could have got the hotel we stayed in a lot cheaper if we had booked it separately and the flights separately. We thought we had got a good deal through Airtours but obviously not good enough. I do not recommend the Lazy Day Sunday Cruise booked through Airtours. Not only did the coach take two hours to drive from Kefalos to Kos Town (due to numerous pick ups on the way), when we arrived at the Harbour we were the last to get on the boat, thus all good seats were taken and the boat was heavily overcrowded, worringly overcrowded in fact. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND. Also, there was a bit of an argument between passengers at one of the drop offs on the way from the Airport to the hotel, so we sat in the bus waiting for the Rep to resolve this for half an hour. Not what you want on your first day of a holiday.

Jamie   (21 June 2003)

We stayed in the Lydia Apartments with Airtours. They are a great base for getting away from it all! The people are fantastic. Watch out for Mary! She no's how to have a good time!! I do recommend this place to couples for families who want to have a nice peaceful holiday!! THANKS AIRTOURS, YOUR FAB!!!!!!!!!!!
