Visited Hasan again in June 05 and it was as manic as usual - place full with Hasan bravely trying too cope with the impossible and managng to do it. Everything we remembered from previous visits was justified - highly recommended- but get there before 8.30 if you want a table.
Visited again twice last week: nothing has changed. There is still the same happy atmosphere with Hasan doing the impossible by looking after a full restaurant and still having time to chat. One thing did strike me that not everybody mentions: it is a very very good restauarant, The food is always first class - perhaps the best we have had in Kos - and you get the fun from Hasan as a bonus. No wonder this little place on a side street is always full when most were empty and others had given up and closed down..
Situated almost on a tree lined street 300 yards from Kos harbour this isn't the easiest place to find but it is well worth the trip. The food is quite excellent with huge portions and friendly service and modest prices. Try the fish and chips - they reminded me of how they used to taste with thin crispy batter and two magnificent sole fillets cooked to perfection. Only try the mixed grill if you are starving - they like to see their portions uneaten so expect a bit of friendly ribbing if you can't manage it.
I understand this place closed down in July 2005. It was empty of chairs and tables in September
Still excellent in every respect. Good Food. Good service. Modest prices and fum waiters.
The breakfasts alone make it well worth the trip. Try their "El Greco" breakfast and prepare to feel full all day!
We paid our fourth visit in less than 2 years recently so that must say a lot about it. Some friends of ours came to visit from Karb=damena and they were very inpressed with the whole complex especially the view from the terrace of the tropical style gardens, Out of season (May. June, Sept & Oct) it soes not get too busy.
Whoever gave this restaurant full marks got it spot on. The food is excellent, the service restrained (there when you want it but not when you don't) and the prices very reasonable. The breakfasts at 4 euros were superb.
In view of all the reports we were disappointed with the evening overall. The people were friendly but the food was nothing to shout about. The servive was OK. The place was busy and they do try to cram in an extra table if there is an inch to spare. We had to move our table (literally drag it) to maintain some form of privacy.
Actually called KOSTAS. No change from last years comments - still excellent food at great prices and ond of course Andreas, the self proclaimed handsome waiter!
No change - simply excellent. Hasan performs miracles managing to find time for everyone even at the busiest times. No wonder it is always packed
Good food, well cooked, very friendly people. Excellent as usual. It says a lot for them when you consider they maintain the restaurant during the winter for the local Greeks - they couldn't do that if the quality was not first class. Expect HUGE portions
Visted again in October 06.No change from our last visit. Just excellent

Visited twice in 06 June and october. Still excellent and in a beautiful location with sub tropical gardens. Now mainly all inclusive overwhelmed with Dutch and Germans. Can be a bit intimidating.
We stayed in June 06. We were made very welcome and we were very happy with this hotel. We called in again while on a flying visit to Kardamena (from Kos Town) and we were remembered and made very welcone from Renna in reception and the Manager. It is in a great location: near the action but not affected by it.
Now finished. the premises are occupied by Mike's Taverna which has moved from 400 yards down the road (was after the Atlantis hotel going from Kos Town)
Two more visits in June 2007. Still excellent - what more an I add. Hasan is a delight. The fact that the restaurant was still packed at 1030 says it all
How come this place only rates 6 out of 10. Every review gave it "excellent" except for two who hadn;t actually been but were enquiring for directions. For food and value is must be 10/10. We called again twice in June 2007 and the food was first class as was the welcome and the prices are modest too.All of the outside tables were full both nights and quite a few of the inside tables too. you can't say that about many places in KOs in June!
Kostas is no more: the family have retired. The site is half empty, half chippie now. Andreas is working at the Fat Olive, near MacDonalds
Visited Hasan twice again last week. he has had a hard hot summer and was ready for closing and a go at the Ouzo bottle - then more "old friends" turned up unexpectedly so it looks like the Ouzo is on hold for a week or two. He was still in fine form and the food was up to its usual good standard. Can't go far wrong here.
Two more visits in October 07. The food here is stunning with huge portions beautifully cooked and thoughtfully served The place was full both nights and a number of Greek people from the area came in for takeaways - they obviously know a good thing, The fish and chips here is superb not to mention huge and the steak with onions will fill the hungriest. I think their white house wine is the best we have had in Kos by a mile. And all this at very modest prices. I thoroughly recommend it
Two more visits in June 08. No change - superbly cooked food with huge portions and excellent service at very reasonable prices
