We went to Kefalos last 2 weeks Sept. last year (2004) - Weather great on the whole, altho one bad storm which knocked out electricity and we had no water for in excess of 24 hours - in fact had several power cuts, but not really a problem.  Everyone very friendly - in fact have booked again for 1st 2 weeks Sept this year (altho staying in small hotel this time, not self-catering).  Good choice of restaurants and plenty of water sports/ trips if that's your thing, not too crowded.

Excellent hotel..it's all been said before...very clean, quiet and welcoming. Ideal situation.  Close to excellent taverna - 'GALINI' where George and his wife Frosini will give you a very warm welcome - superb menu and very good value for money - have tried most of the restaurants but this one is our favourite and we just keep going back!

2nd year for us in Kefalos, like last year we found the Taverna Galini the best we have tried, and we've tried a few!   George and his wife Frosini, helped once again by his daughter Poppy (sorry if that's incorrect spelling!) recognised us and made us both feel very welcome.  The food is great, portions huge (so dont have a starter unless you are STARVING) all reasonably priced and freshly cooked. We tried garlic prawns, souvlaki, fish, steaks, moussaka, I wont go on, too many to list.  Really varied menu.   George very generously gave us HUGE Metaxa and Baileys most evenings....this restaurant is just a short 'stagger' from Kamari Bay Hotel (where we stayed this year) and Efi apartments (where we stayed last year).  Cannot wait to go back again next year.....no wonder people return year after year!

 

Dont quite know how my last comment fcor Gallini came out as 'Average'  cos average it is NOT  -  MUST pay attention to ticking the right boxes!   Try it and you'll keep going back.
