We stayed in the Angeliki Studios for a week and the rooms are very basic but absolutely fine if you are just using them to crash in between 4.00am and 12.00pm every night as we did. Very close to both Status nightclub and the excellent Blue Lagoon swimming pool. You cannot flush paper down the toilet so the phrase "never s*** on your own door step" has never been more apt.
Nicely furnished bar with plenty of seats. You are not dragged into this bar but once inside, someone will take all your drinks orders and bring them to your table. Drinks are reasonably priced and when we sat here there were a good number of women on the surrounding tables. Rex almost got the colonel out in here.
Great pool, the beach may have sand and views of the landscape but the Blue Lagoon has plenty of 'twin peaks' to keep you interested. You can sit and admire the views for 5 Euros a day and you can use that behind the bar to get food and drinks. Music is played all day and the only spoiling factor to an otherwise excellent pool was the number of loud Northerners.
Rex didn't make it here but I had reports that it was a bit quiet on the night we went there. Ed got a turn on the decks and mixed some 'phat choons' so all was not lost.
this is where we had our induction. you get a free drink and a welcome from your reps. rex got the colonel out in here when a**enal equalised against chelsea.
Starlight is the biggest club in Kardamena and is an uphill walk from most of the bars. You can get flyers for it from almost every bar so why they charge on the door is baffling. It is a big club with a central dancefloor for you to cut some shapes on. Rex experimented with various styles of dancing from backwards to camp to Bruce Forsyth. This club is worth a visit and we spotted ex- Spurs striker Chris Armstrong in there.
We first went into this place on Wednesday. Some cracking tunes were played and Rex managed to get the colonel out for a couple of women in here. We were surrounded by girating lovelies and the digital camera went into over drive. The best night of our holiday was spent in here. Unfortunately, they do vary the music and other nights in here were not as busy or as drunken.
Rex and the boys went here almost every night as it was a good place to acquire tickets for Status and Starlight. The males PR's are quite good and they'd even heard of Rex Hunt. Their stand up routine was a little bit trying but it seemed to work on the teenage girls. Rex has been honing his one liners for use next year... "Well it's not going to suck itself is it?"
Rex was on the beach for about three of the seven days we spent there. The sun loungers were very reasonable at 3 Euros for the whole day. The water was also fairly warm. George and Ed were big fans and the surrounding views were pleasing to the eye.
We were there for the first week in September 2002. Excellent weather - hot enough to get the colonel out. Rex found himself outnumbered by the fairer sex on a few occasions and most of the chaps got their eyes down. "Walking on the moon" - Kardamena 2002
