Mamouzelos - (Accommodation in Kardamena)

Booked to stay here based on comments from this site as apartments were between tour operators and not featured in Olympic brochure.  So glad we did, we had a 2 bedroom apartment and a 2 bed studio between the 6 of us and they were basic but spacious.  Shower had its own base and curtain and plenty hot water (not that we needed it - got back this morning and average temp all last week was 35 degrees phew!)  Not sure I agree with the comments about noise on supermarket side - we were straight across from supermarket and heard nothing from either tourists or scooters.  Also no probs for any of us with mossies - we did have plug in thingy in rooms though.

Leftis was superb as was his brother Vangellis.  Nothing too much trouble.  Exchange rate here as good as anywhere and no need for passport.  Safety deposit boxes were 8 Euro one week or 10 Euro for 2 weeks and fan hire (highly recommended) 10 Euro one week and 12 Euro for 2 weeks.  Well stocked bar and neat gardens - ace to sit in for a late night drink whilst putting world to rights.  Would definitely go back here again.  My mum (72) and 3 kids (16, 13 and 10) loved it and all I can say is go to Mamouzelos and see for yourselves.  Yamas Leftis and thanks for your hospitality

August - (Best Time to Visit)

Vickie W

loved everything about Kardemena and will be back again for sure but earlier or later in season as it was just too  hot in August and I am not usually a defeatist!!  There did not seem to be any drop in temperature between day and night and we got too sticky to enjoy nights out

Kardamena Resort - (Resorts on Kos)

Vickie W

As my son put before me, this place was ace.  I had my doubts that it would be the right resort for us as we have 3 kids, 10,13 and 16 and my elderly mother.  Where we stayed (Mamouzelos Appts) was in a great location nearer to the Upper Bar Street not the Main Bar Street which was the other side of the central square and marina.  We visited many of the 10/10 rated restaurants eg Ariadne, Aramis and Nemo which were at our end along with some good pubs eg Brewers Droop (Sky Sport and X-Box) and The Galleon that did card bingo and quizes each night for all ages.  The smaller beach was at our end but despite it being high season there were always sunbeds available.  There were plenty shops before the Square so if we hadnt wanted to we would never have had to go up the other end (we did though - well it would have been rude not to).

My only gripes were the pillows were a bit hard and the sun a bit too hot - the moral, take your own pillow and visit out of high season - easy and yes we will be back again x
