I have just come back from my holiday in Kos, staying at the Emmanuel Apartments, & I was very pleased with the accommodation. They were the most modern appartments I've ever stayed in, plenty big enough for the 4 of us. We had towels & loo roll, cleaners emptied our bins, changed bed linen & cleaned the floors several times in the week. floors were lovely clean marble. We really had everything we needed. Although originally requesting to be on a top floor, we were on the bottom, but didnt have a single ant or cockroach so don't worry, it was probably easier not having to walk up flights of stairs every day. the pool area was nice, although we didnt spend our days there, plenty of people did & there was always lots of room, never too crowded. Food at bar was lovely & good value, & people running the appartments were very pleasant & helpful. There arent safety deposit boxes in your rooms, theyre in a room next to the bar. Safety isnt an issue there, I felt I could trust the people. Its a good idea to rent bikes out (3 euros per day, 15 euros for a week) but its so much easier & alot more fun to get around. Loads of space to park them wherever you go & theres a hire place just 50 metres from emmanuel! I was very pleased with these appartments & would reccommend them as kos is filled with the sound of mopeds, it drives you mad, & at these appartments, you don't hear a thing!
this club was probably the most decent in kos town, if not the only club as theres mainly bars! its a nice looking place, but cost us 12 euros on saturday, & on beauty contest nite, although i was free, it cost my boyfriend 15 euros. i think they saw us coming. theres mainly locals in there. the blokes are p**vy & the girls are tarty & very rude & ignorant towards foreigners. drinks cost a fortune (14 euros for 2 smirnoff ices), but u do get a free shot & drink wen u arrive. toilets were nice tho!! they could have done with more bar staff as 2 on each bar on a busy nite aint enuff! it was ok!
we visited these springs in the middle of the night. went in a taxi as our rep sed this was best way, only to realise we couldnt get back as we didnt take our mobiles, & had to interrupt some huge family gathering in the cafe to ask for a phone. it was scary, the walk down was scary & dangerous as there are no lights & you are on the side of a cliff! there were lots of people down there, including some drunk locals who were very insulting & rude to us which really spoiled our experience as it was amazing in the pool. the mixture of hot & cold as you move about is bizarre! dont worry, they dont put chemicals in the pool, its the sulphur that ruins your jewellery, our rep told us not to wear ours. it does smell a bit but all adds to the occasion. definitely worth a visit but during the day or with a good torch!
