I went to Kos in 2004 and stayed in the Annex Block - Room 8. The room was on the first level facing out onto a small side road. The appartments were pretty quiet apart from getting woken every morning buy some nutty man selling pots and the 18-30's revellers coming home drunk in the early hours of the morning singing songs about god knows what - but hey that's what holidays are for making a complete a$$ of yourself whilst you can
The room was pretty basic, two single beds and a sink area which smelt like stale milk may i add. The bathroom was really small and only had a shower in it with no shower curtain so nearly broke me neck on a few ocassions getting in and out of it - but the biggest dilema we faced was there was only one cupboard so not enough room to unpack all our clobber
The good thing about the appartment is that it is merely a five minute walk to the nightlife and say about a ten minute crawl home again. There is a pretty good beach about five minutes from the appartments to with watersports like jet skis etc.
Overall we had a fantastic time and met some crazy people who we still talk to now.
We would reccomend Kos to anyone, the food and drinks are cheap, plenty of sunshine the rest is up to you
