Sebastian's is an excellent restaurant, providing good quality food at very reasonable prices. All the staff (especially Dimitrios and Katerina) were very friendly and helpful - we'll be back again. If it's not on the menu, they'll try and accomodate you. Try speaking a little Greek - it is always appreciated! You don't always have to have everything with chips either, as the (sic) "pasita patatas" (baked potatoes) are a pleasant option. "Ena litro aspro krassi, parakalo" (a litre of house white wine, please) goes down a treat after a hard day's work on the beach. As you can see above, the view from the resturant is wonderful. (Not shown, but on the left - the whole of Kamari Bay and the mountain area of Zia, and on the right - the harbour and the islands of Nisyros and Yiali). Guys - we'll be back - soon!!!
P.S. If in season and available, end the meal with fresh figs or grapes straight from their back yard - they're awesome. They're not on the menu - but ought to be!

Eftichia Apartments - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

The Eftichea (pronounced Eff-ti-hear) Apartments are named after the owner Eftichea, a lovely lady who, like other comments below, does not speak much English. However she coped with our minimal Greek, and with a few smiles (and Yasoos!) in the right places, we had no problems.
The apartment was basic but clean, with a fridge, kettle, sink and double hotplate. Hire a fan (20€ for 2 weeks) if you're there in July & August, as there's no air-con (we had one day of 50C - quite warm!).
The apartments are just a 2 minute walk from the harbour, local mini-markets, and the beach. Andreas' Apartments nearby have a pool, restaurant and excellent car-hire facilities.
Kefalos is a quiet resort even at the height of the season. Kiddies and Teenagers may find it too quiet for their liking, but my wife Helen and I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility, views and local restaurants (see Sebastian's), and look forward to returning soon.
