WE'VE BEEN WITH KOSMAR A FEW TIMES AND FOUND THEM TO OK APART FROM THE FLIGHT TIMES BUT WE STAYED AT CAPTAIN COOK STUDIOS WHICH HAD AN 'A' CLASSIFICATION. WE DON'T KNOW WHY BECAUSE THE DIMITRI & ANNA STUDIOS WERE FAR SUPERIOR BUT THEY ONLY HAVE A 'B' CLASSIFICATION. ONE OF THE BAR OWNERS TOLD US THAT CAPTAIN COOKS WERE 'A' CLASS 17 YEARS AGO AND KOSMAR HAVE NOT UPDATED THEIR RECORDS. THEY WERE OK BUT VERY BASIC.
We went on the Kalymnos Express for 18 euros each. The reps were charging 49 euros!!! It took about 1 hr to get there and we had a 1 hr city tour included in the price. We went to the main landmarks and then a Gold Centre. You don't have to stay at the Gold Centre but you get a free drink and a biscuit so its worth having that then coming out for the free bus. We didn't get hassled round the shops or market place and it was definately worth going for the cheap fags. We've never fancied Turkey before but this short visit changed our minds.
They were in a really good location and we hired bikes for the week to get around. The studio we had was facing the farmers field and the sun shone all afternoon till sunset at about 7.30. It was really peaceful and quiet. The beach is about 10 mins walk or 2 mins bike and Kos Town is about 20 mins walk but theres loads of bars, restaurants etc in the Lambi Area about 5 mins walk. Not recommended if you want swimming pool or bar as these studios are very basic. They are family run and the family live on the premises. Go to Johans bar at the end of the road - he is mad!!!
