Elini Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

Dianne B

We've just returned from our 6th holiday in Kefalos and immediatley booked for next year. In 2006 we will be staying at the Eleni Hotel. Strange, you may think, to comment on a hotel you have not yet stayed in. Well, we have always stayed in basic apartments in Kefalos and had no complaints, but decided to go a bit 'up-market' next year, so we looked around some of the hotels.

As soon as we walked into the Eleni we felt a friendly, warm atmosphere. The pool and lounge areas are lovely. Without hesitation the owner showed us one of the bedrooms. The bedrooms were a good size, beautifully arranged and seemed larger than our apartment, not to mention spotlessly clean.

They day we got home we booked the Eleni for next year.

Hubs - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

Dianne B

Hubs - what can I say. Been to Kefalos 6 times now, and Hubs is definately the place to eat.

Mostly basic steaks, chicken, lamb etc - what makes the difference is the sauces, they are out of this world, and pasta to die for!

Never had a bad meal, didn't eat anywhere else for the 2 weeks of our last visit - shows how good the food is!

Bobby, the owner is a wonderful, very friendly character (turns slightly into Basil Fawlty during busy periods!)

Elini Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

September 2006

We stayed at the Eleni Hotel for 2 weeks- really good. We usually stay in appartments and did miss a fridge, but with a travel kettle it was easy to make a brew.

Rooms in hotel are quite small, but no smaller than your standard Greek accommodation. Everywhere, the room, lounge, pool area and snack bar were spotlessly clean, and Mike Manolis, the owner very helpful and friendly, if on night flights you can keep your room until departure time.

Tip - do without the tour operator. Travel independantly and it won't cost you any more than the tour operators, and you give the full costs of your accommodaion to the people who run the hotels. Tour operators only give them a fraction of the costs of the rooms. (25euros for taxi from airport to hotel)

Eleni charged 30 euros a night for a lovely room overlooking the pool, and if staying independently, you get meat/cheese for breakfast instead of just bread and jam.

Excellent location, on the back road, so away from traffic noise, a path leads to the main road where you are about half way between either the harbour end of the resort or the 'top end' (towards Club Med).

Opa Bar - (Bars in Kefalos)

Dianne B          10/10

Just returned from our 9th visit to the Paradise that is Kefalos, and would not have missed our evening cocktails in the Opa.

Steve is a master of cocktail mixing, and even for tee-totals you will not be disappointed with the non-alcoholic cocktails.

Wonderful bar, great chill out music, and great staff.

See you next year.
