Fish House

Restaurants in Kos Town

Not a good experience, food was pretty average and the waiters almost demanded their tips be given to them and not put with the bills (very rude not good).

I checked out this site before my girlfriend and I went to Kos, we spent all week looking for the fish house in Kos town even though I asked a few locals who said they never heard of the place. We finally found it on the last day of our holiday's (we had passed it SIX times not easy to find I'm afraid, look out for the snow white cobbled steps tucked away just off the harbour front) (centre of the harbour). We were NOT  disappointed I had the sea bass which melted in my mouth and my girlfriend had the cod which she enjoyed as well. Bit pricey but worth it, only one regret wished we had found it earlier to try out their other dishes....

Well this is best fish restaurant I have been to everMy friends and I ate there three times in the week we stayed in Kos and the food was delicious!  I can highly recommend the swordfish which melts in your mouth.  The setting is magical as you eat your meal overlooking the harbour with the lights from the boats and the stars reflecting back at you.  After our meal we would go down the blue and white steps and have a drink (or two!) at the bar below whilst admiring the view.  Such a beauttiful place to visit.

Going to Kos for first anniversary in September. Staying in Lampi. Can anyone recommend anywhere special my husband and I can have a romantic meal for our anniversary? I don't eat meat but like fish. My husband enjoys a good steak and we both like a good drop of vino. Any suggestions? Don't mind travelling out of the resort for quite a way if need be.

This was one of our favourite restaurants for fish in Kos Town.  As you walk along the harbour with the wooden boats and cross over to where the square is with restaurants you will see on the right hand side some cobbled stairs which lead up to the blue and white restaurant.  You know a good restaurant when they dont need to tout you to come in!

Id definately recommend the fish pot!

Dont miss this one if you are a fish lover!

A restaurant with a very nice setting and good service. I had fish and it was cooked just right, the veggies however were over cooked and mushy. My wife had large shrimps wich were also very nice but again the veggies let the meal down. Avoid the red house wine, it's awful.

My partner and I ate at the Fish House twice during our week and we were planning on going a third time, but ended up having an italian meal.  It was one of my favourites as the setting was traditionally greek, with white washed cobbles and blossoming trees and very romantic. On our first visit my partner had a mixed fish dish, which included Haddock, Squid and Perch and served with veg and potatoes and he really enjoyed it.  I tried swordfish for the first time and though the fish was a little bland (but then most are to me) I enjoyed my meal also.  You get a big wedge of crusty bread and butter loaded with garlic before your meal-which was yummy and the Greek Salad was very tasty.  The house white wine was also one of the best I had tasted during the week.  On the second visit my partner had another mixed fish combo, this time with shrimp and rice and I had shrimps in garlic butter with rice and veg....If you love garlic, like me, you wont be disappointed!  The staff were very friendly and the owner was a laugh,  serenading the women and picking flowers off the trees for them.  I would definitely recommend this restaurant for those who want good food, good drink, a romantic setting and a real feel of the greek life

Fantastic, wonderful food, great views, greta service.  We ate here a couple of evenings, the shrimps are delicious, and the grilled feta cheese as a starter is amazing.

It was such a lovely setting, sitting under a blossoming tree at the top of picturesque white washed steps. Food was lovely, good for vegetarians and fish lovers alike. Slightly pricier than other tavernas but much better.

It became a perfect evening when my boyfriend whipped out a ring and proposed! (I said yes)

BEAUTIFUL.... absolutely gorgeous food, if going, try the Greek Salad and Garlic Bread. We came back to this place 3 times after finding it by mistake.
Word of caution to the ladies, watch when you are walking back down the stairs if wearing heels, VERY slippery on the cobbles but all staff are extremely friendly.

We tried a different Restaurant every night, this was one of the better ones away from the nose of the road, it was nice to get whole black bream cooked just right.

We had a lovely meal my husband had black mullet which looked and he said tasted lovely I had swordfish souvlaki which was excellent, the only problem being we had to wait a long time for our food as it was so busy

We ate hear one night, fish was very good, I had the crepes, big chicken pieces in them, lovely but big portion, bit pricy but you can pick your own fish, dont worry it's dead!
