we have just spent a week at alice springs with a family of 9 women, we were there for a wedding, which was amazing. what made our stay so special was george, barbara and elias, what a fantastic family they were, nothing was too much trouble, they were the friendliest hoteliers i have ever come across. the hotel is lovely, so clean, food was delicious, all our needs were completely catered for. if we had any problems george was on it immediately with no hesitation, he was such a lovely person. as a very large family we have all decided to decend on alice springs again next year with husbands partners and kids, so we all hope george and barbara are ready for us all

My husband and I have been coming to Kos for 22yrs staying at the same hotel each year, due to the Kalypso closing we had to find another hotel to stay in, we cannot believe that we have never seen the Alice Springs before, [that being our loss all these years], what a lovely hotel Barbara George and Eliose are the most wonderful family you could wish to meet, so kind and caring nothing is to much trouble. We are due to fly out again very soon for another great 2 weeks with them. The rooms are lovely and clean, room cleaned daily, clean towels daily. They do excellent food anytime of the day, and have a lovely garden to the back of hotel with a pool. The hotel is pretty well situated for shops, and beach is just up the road what more could you ask for!!

The Alice Springs Hotel consists of both apartments and hotel rooms which have TV and air-conditioning units in each room. It is situated about 1.5 km from Kos Town Centre in an area known as Lambi, and it is in a great position very near to the beach.
It is a family hotel run by George and Barbara who combine a friendly welcome with a genuine enjoyment of meeting with and ensuring that their guests have a great holiday, and enjoy the best that Kos has to offer. George is a mine of information about Kos, its history and good places to visit. He will give you a lot of good advice which will ensure that you see the best of Kos and thoroughly enjoyed your holiday.

The complex has a good sized pool and plenty of sun beds, plus chairs/tables arranged around the pool area. There is a table football, pool table, and a table ice-hockey game, plus two internet enabled computers by the poolside and a large TV. There is internet access in the reception area too.
By the poolside there is also a bar area which serves hot and cold food and drinks.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Alice Springs Hotel. George,Barbara and family make you
so welcome as soon as you step off the Thomson coach! The hotel is family run and all the family make sure that you have a great time. The rooms are spotlessly clean with fresh towels and sheets every day, we had a room beside the pool which was great. The pool is lovely with free sunbeds and mattresses and the pool bar is open from 8am until the last guest goes to bed ! Turn right out of the hotel and Lambi beach is 50metres walk where you can have 2 beds and an umbrella for only 5euros from the greek man on the right, he'll also give you a free lilo!
The Wednesday family barbeque night and  the Friday Lamb dinner night are not to be missed. George is great at advising you where to eat at night, most people walk into Kos Town which is a 30mins leisurely stroll, although there are plenty of tavernas in the local area. Kerry the Thomson rep was really good and on hand daily. We went on the Mount Zia sunset trip, and also the 3 island boat trip which we booked at Kos harbour (Kalymnos Express).
We loved it and hope to visit Alice Springs Hotel again.

Had a great holiday last August at this hotel.  The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to welcome everyone.

Pool was very clean and emptied weekly.  Rooms were basic but spotless.  Food very good and large portions.

We've just returned from another great week at the Alice Springs Hotel in Lambi.

Once again we were greeted very warmly by the owners Barbara and George plus their son Elias and George's sister Rita.  It was just like we'd never been away. :)

The Alice Springs is situated in Lambi, just 15 minutes walk from the main town of Kos, and a few minutes from the local bus stop where you can get 3/4 buses an hour into the town for Euro 1.50 each.

This area of Lambi is relatively quiet. Although there are a couple of big bars along the sea front just a few minutes walk away you would never know as the hotel is very peaceful.  There are a good selection of restaurants and shops within walking distance with 2 supermarkets just a minute from the hotel.

This year George has had Sky TV installed much to the delight of the two 15 year old boys in our party... they didn't miss a second of the of The Ashes or the England vs Wales football match!

Food at the hotel is good and reasonably priced.  Check out the Village Rolls and Alice Springs big breakfast or one of Barbara's "special" ice cream milk shakes. Yum!

The hotel cleaning staff work very hard to keep the rooms and public areas looking spotless.  Plus they always have a smile for everyone.  Clean towels and bedding are provided every day without fail.  Even on the last day, before check out, we were given fresh towels so we could shower before leaving.

We had a small problem with our air-con on the first day but George fixed it immediately.  He also managed to "save the day" by fixing our broken hairdryer towards the end of the week.

A late meaning a midnight departure from the hotel was no problem.  We were able to keep the room on right up till we left.  This meant we could make the most of every minute of our last day.

George and Barbara try to get to know all their guests by their first names.  There's usually no language problem as, after having lived in Australia for many years, all the staff are fully fluent in English.

It's little things like these which make a difference.  Nothing seems too much trouble for the Alice Springs team and they really do go out of their way to make their guests feel at home.  This is why we will be going back again next year!
