Mythos Apartments - (Accommodation in Tingaki)

Tina R

My husband, Martin, and I have just returned from our second holiday (21/09/05 - 05/10/05) at these great apartments in Tingaki.  We first went there last September on our honeymoon and thought the apartments and resort were so good that we did what we don't normally do and returned there this year.

I can only repeat what so many others have already said with regard to the spaciousness and standard of the accommodation, pool and bar area.  We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which had a double bed, a proper bathroom with a bath, shower attachment and shower curtain (unusual in Greece).  The bedroom had French windows and a mosquito screen leading out onto the balcony which overlooked the sea and the mountains.  There is a separate kitchen area with a hob, kettle and cupboards.  There is also a dining room table and chairs and bunk beds in this area.  Safety deposit boxes are in the rooms and you can use them free of charge.  A small gripe would be that a toaster would be useful to have.  Air conditioning costs 5 euros per night in these apartments but we didn't feel the need to use it whilst we were there. The only day the apartments aren't cleaned is Sunday.

The pool is a decent size and spotlessly clean and we never had any problems getting a sun bed even though we rarely got to the pool much before 10.30 am.  Food and drinks at the pool bar are reasonably priced compared to elsewhere and are tasty.  The restaurant at the front, Vassilis is without doubt the best in the resort and well worth a try.  The staff are all helpful and friendly including George, Louis, Costas and Ari (Antonio).

Although located in the middle of Tingaki with plenty of bars and restaurants close by, we never experienced any problems with noise at night and found the location extremely peaceful even with the French doors left open.

All in all, another wonderful holiday at the Mythos apartments and we would like to thank everyone for making it such a lovely and relaxing place to stay.  We are hoping to come back next year so see you all then.

Hi Hayley

Mythos apartments are right in the centre of the resort surrounded by the bars and restaurants but are not affected by noise from them.  The beach is about 3 minutes walk away.

Akti Dimmys almost right on the beach but about 5 or 10 mins away fromt the resort centre.

We have stayed at Mythos twice and will definitely go back there once our 4 week old baby is a bit older!

Hope this helps.

We have been to these wonderful apartments twice already and would love to go back next year with our daughter who will be almost 15 months old.  I know people have taken their children there before but is there anybody who could let me know how you find the apartments and resort with a baby / child.

I assume cots are proivded?

Many thanks.

Well, we have taken the plunge and booked to go back to these great apartments in this lovely resort next September.  We are going with friends met last year and cannot wait.

Hi Lynne

I am pretty sure that the largest apartments are those that have a double room and a room with two single beds, located to the right of the pool as you stand at the bar end of the pool.

However, I think they are building new apartments which are due to be opened this year but I am not sure how many they will cater for.

We were at the Mythos when you were there with your son and daughter.  Martin and I stayed the same 2 weeks as you but our flight to Gatwick left before yours.  We had made good friends with Jackie and Geoff from Hull who were on honeymoon but only stayed a week (our first week) - not sure if you remember us?!

We are going back this year on Sept 19th, as are Jackie and Geoff so maybe we will see you there.

Hi Lynne

As you said, it appears that you will be in one of the new apartments.  We were a bit unsure about going again because of the new apartments and the impact they may have on room around the pool but because everything is so good there we decided to go back anyway.

Our baby girl is now almost 8 months old and will be getting on for 15 months when we go to the Mythos.

How funny that you are also going out on the 19 Sept.  Our flight leaves Gatwick at about 7 in the morning so we should be there at a decent time.

Is it really 30 weeks away? Time to hit the gym I think!

Look forward to seeing you all later this year then.

Hi Joanna

When we were there in 2004 and 2005 there were one bedroom apartments which had either a double or two single beds in the bedroom and bunk beds in the kitchen / dining area.  There were also two bed apartments which I assume had a double room and a twin room although I can't be sure of this as we have only ever stayed in the one bed apartments.

Hopefully somone else will be able to confirm this for you.

Tingaki Resort - (Resorts on Kos)

Tina R

We went to Tingaki in 2004 and 2005 and are going back this September.  This year will be different as we are now parents to a baby daughter and she will be with us.

It would be really useful to know how easy it is to buy nappies, formula, jars of food etc in the resort and if so, what brands you can get.  I am guessing that the big supermarket, Constantinos I think it's called, would be the best place.

Many thanks

To those who asked about cabs from the airport

We were last in Tingaki in 2005 and paid around 18 - 20 euros.  We were staying at the Mythos which is almost near the beach. Hope this helps.

Mythos Apartments - (Accommodation in Tingaki)

Tina R          10/10

We were at these great apartments from 19 Sept - 3 October and although this was our third time there, we can honestly say that they are as brilliant as ever.

Everything from the cleanliness of the apartments and elsewhere to the daytime pool bar staff and the restaurant staff cannot be faulted. One minor gripe would be that there is still no toaster in the apartments.

Helen and George made sure as always that all guests felt welcome and had a lovely stay and we would also like to pay a special thanks to Costas who worked in the restaurant and Costas who worked in the bar of an evening.

The restaurant, Vassilis was as excellent as ever with wondeful food at reasonable prices.

We went with people (Jackie, Geoff and co.) we had met there in 2005 and we also met some other lovely people there too: Lynne and Paul and co. plus Theresa, Den and co and our neighbours from Hull.

We have taken the plunge and have booked to go back next September, 17 - 30 so we are hoping to bump into some familiar faces in 2008.

In short these apartments are ideally located in the lovely resort of Tingaki and are well maintained and well worth a visit.

Vassils - (Restaurants in Tingaki)

Tina R          10/10

A really great place to eat.  The service, quality and choice of food and atmosphere really are all excellent.  When we first went to Tingaki in 2004 we ate at other restaurants which were all good.  However, after eating at Vassilis once we never ate anywhere else that year, in 2005 and last year.

We are going back to Tingaki this year and will stick with what we have found to be excellent and will eat at Vassilis every evening.

As we stay at the Mythos apartments we got a 10% discount off the bill.  I think staying at the apartments and eating here adds to the experience as you see the waiters during the day and you really do feel that they look after you well.

We can't wait to go back this year!

Just to say hello to everyone who will be at the Mythos at some point between 17 Sept and 1 Oct.  It looks like there will be quite a few after reading the comments on here.

We arrive for our fourth visit there on 17 Sept and we cannot wait.  7 weeks to go and definitely counting!!

Looking forward to seeeing some old faces (Lynne & Paul, Dean, Theresa & co.) and meeting some new ones.

These apartments really are great so see you there.

Hi Mary

Can I also reassure you by saying that we are going back to Tingaki for the fourth time this September.  We stay at the Mythos and have found Vassilis to be the best place to eat.

Tingaki is a lovely resort with a stunning beach and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

It looks like lots of people on here will be at the Mythos when we go back for our fourth visit 17 Sept - 1 Oct.

It's such a great place, as is Tingaki itself, and it really does feel like a home from home.  Looking forward to seeing Costsas (both of them) George, Helen and everybody else.

4 weeks to go and counting down!

See you all there.

Tina R

Hello to everybody going to these wonderful apartments and the great resort of Tingaki this year.  A big hello to all the staff at the Mythos, particularly both of the Costas.

Unfortunately we won't be there this year as Martin was made redundant but we will be thinking of you all out there and will definitely be wishing we were there when mid September comes round.

Hope you all have great holidays and a good season and fingers crossed we will be back out there next year.

Tina, Martin and Evie xx
