Hermes Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

Linda C

My partner and I have booked through Airtours 14 nights at Hermes Hotel from end of June. How long does it take to walk to the beach from the hotel, and is it worth hiring a scooter to get up and down the steep hill?!!!!!!!

Hippocrates Secret - (Kos Excursions)

Linda C

We travelled on this boat trip from Kefalos Harbour and would thoroughly recommend it. The trip cost 24 Euros each and this included a stop at Hippocrates secret healing cave plus two swimming stops. One of the swimming stops was on a deserted island and the other was on an island which mines for pumice stones. A fantastic day aboard the Kamari boat.

Trip to Bubble Beach - (Kos Excursions)

Linda C

We made our own way there via speed boat from Kefalos (4 Euros return). Bubble Beach is at one end of Paradise Beach. There are loads of bubbles coming out of the sea bed. Very interesting and fun floating on it.

Aussie Steak House - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

Linda C

Very nice food and friendly staff. The location is a bit out of the way though.

Sebastians - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

Linda C

This restaurant is fantastic. Right on the seafront and the portions are huge. You must try the pork chop, I didn't know pigs got that big! The food was delicious.

Stamatia - (Restaurants in Kefalos)

Linda C

The food here was beautiful. The spaghetti marinara was the best I have ever had before. The staff are all friendly and the restaurant is situated right on the beach with no road in front of it, just the sand to the shore. Thoroughly recommend it.

B52 - (Bars in Kefalos)

Linda C

Pleasant little bar, popular with locals.

Marias Cocktail Bar - (Bars in Kefalos)

Linda C

We loved this bar. The cocktails were very cheap - 2 Euros and 50 cents! A big screen to watch sporting events, and very friendly staff. Great bar.

Sydneys Bar - (Bars in Kefalos)

Linda C

It is a bit of a "Brit's Aboard" bar. OK if that is your cup of tea. Fun nights with karaoke, comedian and DJ every night. Nice food.

Bubble Beach - (Beaches on Kos)

Linda C

Great beach, basically on the long bay that also has Paradise Beach. Am not sure where one starts and the other finishes but nonetheless, a great beach with loads of bubbles to float on which is a weird sensation.

Kefalos Beach - (Beaches on Kos)

Linda C

Kefalos is a great beach with the most crystal clear water I have seen in my life, even better clarity than the Great Barrier Reef and Hawaii. Would definitely recommend this beach.

Paradise Beach - (Beaches on Kos)

Linda C

We enjoyed our day in Paradise Beach. We got a speedboat from Kefalos for four euros return and spent seven hours at the beach, lazing on the sunlounger or swimming in the beautiful water. Loads of watersport activities on offer, try the Flying Fish!

Hermes Hotel - (Accommodation in Kefalos)

Linda C

Brilliant hotel! Fantastic pool - 3.8 metres deep and very big! Loads of sunloungers and a pool bar. Tennis court - free to play on. The views from our balcony and the restaurant / hotel bar were amazing, overlooking the whole bay of Kamari. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help with any questions we had about Kos. The walk down to the beach is 10-15 minutes and a bit longer coming up. The hill down to the beach is a gentle slope. The steepness starts within the hotel grounds. If you don't like stairs, request a room on the bottom hotel block.

Kefalos - (Resorts on Kos)

Linda C

Kefalos is a beautiful, quiet resort. The beach is lovely with crystal clear coloured water. The restaurants on the seafront are superb, especially Stamatia and Sebastian's. There are enough supermarkets and touristy shops to keep you busy and there are plenty of bars, albeit they are spread out a bit too much. Gorgeous resort which I will definitely visit again.

Airtours (MyTravel) - (Tour Operators on Kos)

Linda C  (18 July 2003)

Airtours were OK to go with, however we found out we could have got the hotel we stayed in a lot cheaper if we had booked it separately and the flights separately. We thought we had got a good deal through Airtours but obviously not good enough. I do not recommend the Lazy Day Sunday Cruise booked through Airtours. Not only did the coach take two hours to drive from Kefalos to Kos Town (due to numerous pick ups on the way), when we arrived at the Harbour we were the last to get on the boat, thus all good seats were taken and the boat was heavily overcrowded, worringly overcrowded in fact. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND. Also, there was a bit of an argument between passengers at one of the drop offs on the way from the Airport to the hotel, so we sat in the bus waiting for the Rep to resolve this for half an hour. Not what you want on your first day of a holiday.
